Inte's Sword

The sword is called Inte Akara's Sword of Death and like in Naelven's post it is 120/15 or something wild like that. It doesn't proc anything and last i hear only one person was able to get it. Since it has been taken out of the game due to the fact that you would deal about 300 damage per hit and hit almost every second. While i'm a Paladin and would love to have this sword, *grin*, i think it might cause some major balance issues. Oh yeah, its no rent anyway and rumor has it it took way over 50 people to kill inte.

if it was 120/15 it would do an assload more than 300, since a 45 dmg weapon can do 260 with the right stats, probly more like 650 and since a warrior who would attain this would surely have some type of self-haste it would be less than a second plus double attack. very nice

unfortunatly ... a war would most likely be unable to wield this anyhow ... as to date, all of the Flaming swords (SF,FA,FD) are pally only .. seeing as how Inte is a pally as well ... prolly a safe bet its a pally only sword :)

It didnt take way over 50 people... more like 20. Despite popular belief, numbers arent always the key to winning...

Though, in some cases numbers is the only way to win :)

Like a raid of... 200,000,000,000 lvl 1s on Trakanon? That would be fun. It could happen... when they make Veeshan destroy Norrath, release Rallos Zek and make Phara Dar soloable.

Aradune is the online (public) personna of Brad McQuaid, executive producer of EverQuest. If he had a sword, it was because he made it for himself.

# Jul 23 2000 at 9:17 PM Rating: Decent
Filamien, i might have this wrong but what i got from ur post was u didn't want the soulfire for those 3 reasons. Well i figure ur a paladin so ur never really too high for the quest. if ur at a point where u can do it with ease, then do it... this is 1 of 2 swords that u need to start the fiery avenger quest, a paladins ultimate weapon. the other is a ghoulbane. ok... probably a worthless post but too late.

i wonder why anyone would try and kill inte, especially if he hits so damn hard, but anyhow, guess that now since gordon knows that inte was killed, i think he will prevent Aradune from making any apearances in any arena anytyime soon, hell, with people killing super npc's like inte, dont think it would matter much to them to take a shot at aradune no matter how hard or well equipted he may be, so watch out aradune.

#Anonymous, Posted: May 22 2000 at 9:25 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well for you people that are not as smart as me, there is a way to keep no rent items therefor keep this item, but as vertually noone knows how to do it, most would believe that ya can't hehe, i would get this sword and keep it everytime i logged if not for the fact i'm a mage and don't believe i could use it, as far as i know only about 10 people know how to keep no rent/summoned items when ya log, have a niec day =)
RE: Is keepable....

Just zone with a NO RENT item in your inventory and pull the plug while you are zoning. BAM you can keep no rent items as much as possible

Yeah someone got it, but it really doesn't matter much because it was no rent in the first place which means when you camped, it would disappear or turn into a fine steel 2h.
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 17 2000 at 1:28 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) its no rent....if ya hadda read closely yadda seen that....so when he went link dead he came back on like awwww @#$% where the @#$% is my @#$%ing all @#$%ing mighty @#$% @$$ sword!?!?!?!??! ***** YOU VERANT! followed by mindless petitioning and whining..... the end...

#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 14 2000 at 7:38 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Inte had Inte's death sword. Its stats were awesome, 150dmg, 15 dly, 2hs flameshock effect, save on all. It was taken out by the GM's after inte was first killed though. Pally only, Damn I wish I was there to loot it.
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 14 2000 at 2:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) wtf does that have to do with anything? by the way the sword is called Inte's sword of death. they're gonna nerf it soon if they haven't already. 2 morons on 1 board well what do you know?

Game Enhancement Questions
by Chris - 04/13/00 06:31 EST
Some good questions and answers about some enhancements for EQ

>>>When you target and NPC and hit 'h', you say 'Hail Whoever'. Why can this not also be so when hailing players?
That's always bugged me too. I'll ask the guys about it tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me

>>>More communication of what's going on to those around you, or at least in your group. I'd like my casters to be able to see me taunting away, and I'd like to see the damage they're doing or not doing with their spells. This would promote trust within the group I'd think

We like the idea that people learn to trust that those in their group will do their jobs (such as a warrior taunting), but we also have a technological bias here. Any time we broadcast a message to everyone in a group, that uses bandwidth. Though the amount of bandwidth in use might seem inconsequential, when we take a very frequent occurance like taunting, and multiply it by 50K+ people online at one time, it *really* adds up.

The group loot messages, which is the last thing we added a group broadcast for, occur far less frequently than something like a taunt would, definitely uses a good chunk of bandwidth.

>>>A kind of "/who all zone" command, that would either list, or at least give a count of the players in a specific zone (without one being in that zone). In an overcrowded environment, it would save casual players a great deal of time if they could look to find a less-used zone to hunt in without having to travel to it first.

We're still looking into the possibility of this. We like the idea and think it would enhance gameplay for those that choose to find greener pastures.

>>>Be able to buy large quantity items without having to click my mouse button 40 times. A slider bar is good

Good idea. I know we have this on the wish-list, but no definite short-term plans for it.

>>>An option that allows other players inspecting you to see the stats of the equipment you're wearing.

This probably won't happen. I think that it opens a nice avenue for communication. It also gives people the option of keeping the stats on an item secret.

>>>When SOW, invisible, etc wears off the text should be flashing in multiple colors. A lot better than the hard-to-see blue text

We're still looking into options to help out in these cases, and also in the cases where people are color-blind. I'm blue-black colorblind myself.

Wrong Diety Displayed
by Chris - 04/13/00 06:20 EST
Apparently once upon a time, EQ would display your diety incorrectly. Abashi had this to say about it:

>>>My enchanter started out in the beginning as a worshipper of Erolissi Marr. Another person that I was traveling with at the time, a wizard, started out worshipping Solusek Ro. Around the same time (level 24 I believe), both of our religions were changed to Tunare. We petitioned then and the guide told us they'd log it as a bug, but that there was nothing they could do.
There was a bug a while back that would cause the deity name to change spontaneously, but this was just a display bug. It didn't change what deity you actually have selected, because that is based upon a faction that is created at character creation. As for the Deity that is displayed, the GMs were correct in that they do not have the ability to change that.

In other words, should a deity-specific item be implemented, it will take into account your original deity, not the one that is displayed now were you affected by that bug.

Loud Footsteps Resolved

The problem with giant sound level footsteps has been resolved.

The footstep/sound issues should have been fixed in today's patch. Sorry for the problem.

Now THAT is a Sword
by Chris - 04/13/00 06:15 EST
Verant underestimated us players, and put a 150 damage (yes, 150)/15 delay sword on an NPC in the Plane of Sky.

Here is Gordon's response to the thread involving this weapon.

Yeah that 150dmg 15 delay sword was our fault. We wanted Inte to be carrying a flaming sword, and one of the game designers figured that no one would ever be able to kill him and made the sword a little unruly. We did have the forethought to make it NORENT though, and changed the stats in the item database to something a little less nasty, but we went so long without patching items that someone actually managed to kill Inte two days before the patch.
That'll teach us to go around calling NPCs unkillable

-Gordon

Hope this clarifies things.

wrong on the stats there
# Apr 13 2000 at 8:55 PM Rating: Default
i know someone with the FA and i know for sure that it isn't 150/15. it does however cast a fire attack of some sort and from what i hear it gives +15 to every stat and +10 to every save and bash can be used while holding it. weapon stats are somewhere around 35/44 or close to that.
RE: wrong on the stats there
# Aug 24 2001 at 10:08 AM Rating: Default
the sword is inte's sword of death, 150/15 2hs pally only. It however was taken away by a GM the only time it was ever looted by Krueger in FoH on Veeshan.
RE: wrong on the stats there
# Oct 24 2000 at 9:05 AM Rating: Default
Its not called Fiery Avenger. The one he drops when killed is called Inte's Flamig Sword of Death (or something to that effect). Its No Drop, and was made that powerful because VI didnt think anyone would kill him. The sword has since been nerfed.

I saw a picture from Veeshan captured by Fires of Heaven and it's either real or doctored but according to the pic the sword is a 2H slash 15 DLY 150 DMG with flame shock effect and some nice stat attributes.
