For all you paladins who want to get your Divine Might quest piece that spawns on the ground in these caves, he is easy to avoid. He wanders but he is undead so if you have ITU up he wont be able to see you. There was a human in the caves however that conned red at 45 and he was ready to attack to a high elf. Forgot his name though.

How do you get good faction with him? besides charming, sneaking behind him, etc... just what regular good faction

As far as I know there is no other way than charming him to give him the book. If there is another way of raising faction I would sure love to hear it. So if there is someone post it, but to be honest Ive never heard anyone telling me or putting on any site of raising faction with him.

I tried killing Kobolds last night. After 3 hours of laying waste to the zone (one hit per kill) I'm still KOS to Heretics. Can anyone tell me whether a Mithaial Marr Half-elf Paladin can improve this faction? I'll kill some more tonight. I probably started deeply KOS from killing Elias and doing some Deepwater Knights previously.

u have any freakin idea how hard it is for palys to get epic? hell its almost as tough as wariors and now u guys are talkin about makin this guy have all spells in game .. hey while were at it why dont we add him anohter bout 10000000000000million hp 5000000 hp leatherskin oh and infinite mana and hey lets add him some guards that are lev 60 and are 100%mr? why the hell do u ppl always seek for new ways to ***** palys?

You say every epic is hard but theres some that aren't ie Rogue Monk Shammy and Druid... and one more thing guy who started this just get a natures defender somewhat easier then epic and almost as good...

Ok, jsut so you get a perspective. Try taking down Inuruuk or his second hand man. Try catching an uncommon drop off a Mob boss in one ofthe most notorious Dungeons in the game. Try finding a random drop on the 7th Isle of the plane of air... Oh the life of a Mage...

Still think your Epic is harder? Quillmane. Nuff said. Epics are tough, meant for a select handful per server.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 04 2002 at 10:47 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) you tell them! pally's need the shut the hell up. mage epic is 10 times harder than pally.

no...no, it's really not...my wife plays a mage and she's almost done with her epic, whereas I have alooong ways to go, and i'm only this far becaus eof alot of help from friends. Pally's have many more bottlenecks than mages do.

I can understand your problem..but you have to understand its an epic. It is never easy not for us Paladins or any other class for that matter. So take a deep breath and do some planning for this wonderful sword.. You will need patience, and lots and lots of friends willing to risk their skins. I am currently working on getting my book halves as we speak. I must say that is as difficult as getting the lich..you will need several groups.. plain and simple. Verant isnt going to give this thing away. Hold you head high like a true Knight and fight for it.. you will be proud of yourself in the end and well if not try playing a different class. I quaranty you it wont be any easier though. Just hang in there it will happen eventually.

some of you have asked where to find a map of the caves, so here goes...

1. go to www.eqatlas.com
2. then click on the link that says atlas
3. click on the everfrost peaks link to see a descripition of everfrost
4. in the descripition there are two pictures, one is a map of everfrost, the other is a map of the caves

This just in...

Last night, a cocky Ogre Shaman of level 35 thought he could camp the Glacier Bear with impunity...

Later that night he was overheard saying "Ow - quit it!" as his lifeless body sank into the depths of the frozen river.

He wanders. He is tough as nails. He has a pet. He has an attitude. As a 41 Shaman looting the Glacier Bear I ran into this freak of nature.

Jobaber was dead in under 10 seconds. (Didn't help that we had just finished killing GB). The ONLY thing that saved me was I had Spirit of the Wolf up, he feared me away from him, and that my channeling skill allowed me to take a hit and still cast gate.

A long time ago when I was 45 (druid) a fellow guildmate who was 26 at the time heard of the caves and wanted to check em out, of course lich ate him and spit him back out. Once he told the guild what happened a few knew who the lich guy was, so we organized a round-up of a few guildmembers and myself included. a 51 ranger, 51 cleric, 49 ranger, and a 47 ranger. so we all made our trip from the nk druid ring to the hole in the ice, put on our enduring breath, and went to the caves. After much confusion and where the cave was we finally found it, after the lich was pulled by the highest ranger who was dragging the lvl 26's corpse we began fighting it, he conned blue to most but after all our fighting, and nuking, we barely could get it to half health, suspecting he must have had 10k hps. His pet wasnt much but I would think twice before trying to kill him unless you got several 50+ that can kill undead good.

I know this might **** off paladins on my server but I don't care. The time came last night for justice to fall on this lich of miragul for haunting the cave where the glacier bear for the shaman totemic helm quest.

First off this guy is not very magic resistant and you can cast on him from quite a distance.
When I killed him just now he hit for double 137s and had about 10k in hitpoints. This guy was about as hard as the wurm I killed in burning woods that hit for 149.

It's not so much that he hit for 137, its that he hit so accurately for 137. I'm no slouch, I have 814 ac self buffed, but this guy was just chewing thru my hitpoints.

20 enstills, 3 tugurs, 7 ebolts, 2 plagues, and a 430 damage blast later lich of miragul fell.

Fight lasted about 15 minutes and I meditated without having a dot on the lich half of the time just to get enough mana to cast again and root if need be. His pet went down very quick.

Lich does not drop anything, I was just bored from killing ice giants and a shaman was having trouble camping bear, so I went and killed the lich.

So to sum up,
Lich is lvl 45 and has about 10k hps and hits for double 137s very accurately. Also does not drop anything.

If you are looking for miraguls robe you have to fight the lvl 53 version and bring 2 groups of lvl 50s. Not a very tough fight if you have debuffers, clerics, and tanks, but as with any other lvl 53 mob, can summon, etc.

Hope this clears things up. Don't go around saying you can kill this guy at lvl 50 either, you can't. any more resists on my spells and I would have had to gate at lvl 53.

Put it this way, I can kill dragoons easier than I can kill this little lich. Don't mess with this guy unless you know what you are doing.

Naw, yer not gonna **** off any pallies killing the lich, unless they are about to turn in the book. 90% of the time, this guy just spawns and depspawns, so do feel free to kill him in the name of good.

Now, if you were to solo the LIVING Miragul, pallies might have a problem...

This is one of the few times where sense animal actually comes in handy. Also, if you just take it slow and be careful going around corners, this guy's pretty easy to avoid. His aggro radius is not that large. Just make sure to target all skellies you see and keep your ears open for footsteps.
Bad Verant
# Oct 20 2000 at 2:04 PM Rating: Default
Man verant could of done so much more with Miragul.... being the lord of magics n all, it was
Miragul who invented Teleporting, and he was a master of all magics so he should be able to
use all the spells that and erudin has ever used (Miragul was an erudite) Miragul should be
someone who could take down a God easily.... not someone which 2 groups of 50 can slay with
ease, btw what happened to his treasure... those caves are meant to hold all his knowledge

Miragul CHOSE to use necromancy above all other magics and if u read the story, he became most obsessed with necromancy during his twilight years, so he may just use necromancer spells instead of the spells of other classes evn though he has knowledge of them and he should NOT be able to take down a god easily because firstly, he is a creation like any other mere mortal save for his great intellect and he's a spellcaster afterall, so Verant alrdy gave him a big advantage to be able to melee so well. So a band of adventurers can take him down easily being no surprise, and such a long period of imprisonment within the phylactery may have made him comatose, forgetting how to teleport and gate and necromancy may be his most commonly used magic that it became a habit, just like u wake up every morning and brush your teeth, so he just uses it instead because no other spells come into his mind even though he has knowledge of them and as for the treasure part, u're right, I want to know what happened to them

Actually, in most fantasy games, liches are riduculously powerful casters, but are some of the most physically weak creatures around. After all, they may be immortal, but how physically tough can a 3000 year old pile of bones be?

You might argue that he in fact TOO strong, and should have 6 or 7 hit points. Hehe, imagine that. Walking in there, handing him his soul, and as he calls down the fires of hell upon you, pull out your rusty sword sword, poke him in the foot, loot your robe and head, and be on your merry way.

Does anyone have the maps to the Everfrost caves?

I am a level 12 Heretic Aprentice, and I know there are two Ice Bones Skeletons there. Now here is the beautiful part. I play on Rallos Zek, and I would LOVE to hunt the skeletons here because of the lack of people my level. The location is remote, and difficult to get to. If I had a map, life would be much simpler for me.

Enchanter Charm should make him con amiable to the enchanter and indifferent to everyone else; Bard charm should also do the same thing, just for a shorter length of time. Failing this try Lull/Harmony which should make him indiff to everyone. Benevolence/Bard Charisma Song will make him con with better faction but that only works for the bard or enchanter and it sounds like the paladin would usually be doing this quest unless you are shopping for a new robe (:

I currently have a problem that he still scowls at me when he is charmed by an enchanter. Not sure what to do abou that. I have helped kill the Live version, Miragul a few times now and I can confirm that he is no where near dragon difficulty. Two good groups around 50 can kill him, the live version, with no deaths.

If miragul could cast from all 5 magic classes then it would be impossible to defeat him. He'd IC us and dot us to death and fear us and nuke us with 4 pets beating us to bloody pulps, and when he goes low on health he'll just gate out and since NPC's mana regen is whacked up (ie infinity) it'll never end.

# Jun 28 2000 at 2:57 PM Rating: Decent
Didn't know about the quest, but my level 53 Erudute wizard teamed with a 48 Dark Elf necro just barely were able to kill the lich with us medding as it wandered around feared. It scowled ready to attack both of us so I can't imagine how to get good faction without an enchanter. It must have 15000 hit points in its 40th level undead form and it dropped...absolutely nothing! We later learned about the quest to bring him back to life again, then kill him to get the robe. I'm sure that will take a much bigger group as well.

# Jun 23 2000 at 7:23 PM Rating: Decent
You don't need all that good faction to give miragul the phycaltry. You can do it when a ENC has him charmed. and no he is NOT a pally in disguise. and it would be neat if he had spells from all 4 different caster classes, but it'd also make him possibly stronger than nagufen.
...that's why
# May 23 2000 at 6:22 PM Rating: Decent
It is much easier to get an enchanter to benovolence him or something so he's indifferent than try to faction indiffrent him. Verant probobly did this to make it so people have to cooperate to get FA. or maybe Miragul is a palidin in disguise!
WHY?
# May 18 2000 at 12:36 AM Rating: Decent
Is it just me, or was it Totally ignorant to require a Paladin to have good Faction with a Necromancer in order to gain his ultimate weapon?
Quest
# Apr 13 2000 at 8:25 PM Rating: Decent
A couple things I would like to correct: You must give the book parts to the person under M'Renkor Tobiath in the Blind Fish + 1000pp. Give the book you get from that to the Oracle, who will give you the Phylactery, which is Miragul's soul. Destroy it. j/k. Give the Phylactery to Miragul's Lich, turning it into Miragul, the badarse 53+ Necromancer from the pits of Hell. Incredibly strong, takes a Vox team to kill him. After dead, Miragul will drop his Head and his Robe. The robe is incredibly nice, a fine prize in itself. Give Ghoulbane, Soulfire, the head & the robe to Inte Akra in the PoA and you've got yourself a sword.
