Well to start off, I'm a lvl 40 Druid on veshaan. I logged off eq the other night and hit this site to see what items I could find. when I red about Blige I thought I might take a chance the next afternoon. not erally thinking that I would find him I bound myself at the zone in dagnors and ran into the zone. figured if he didn't show up I would port to iceclad and gain exp, popping back over to dagnors to try to track him everyonce in a while. when i got to the waters edge I had a named gob on track lowater or something. he was green and I killed him for the fun of it. pretty easy for me at lvl 40 and 187 wis.
shouted out to people in the zone of the loc where I killed him. he had a no drop something on him I didn't want. then I went back to the waters edge to meditate. I only used about two bubs of mana killing lowater. when I was done medding I got up, hit track, and there was Bilge right behind me. I couldn't believe it. he was right behind me. snared him dotted him and dd him till he was dead. I got the reed belt in less than 30 minutes of hitting the zone. I can't believe the luck I had getting him so soon. maybe lowater has somehting to do with him popping I don't know. but I was happy that I got him so soon, cause I had a hell of a time with Thissle in Lfay. killed him ten times before he gave me the braided ivy cords.
I feel bad for the people that have hunted him for days. just don't give up you guys, you will get either of the items someday. if you are druid I would suggest that you do my plan. bind in dagnors by the zone. fight in another zone and everyonce in a whie port over and see if you can get him on track. It was also jsut before dawn game time when I killed him so maybe that could be a key to finding him. not sure.

Um. There's no good reason to camp a mob for hours, unless you're enjoying the camping. There are plenty of other very good things to do other than camp monsters. Speaking for myself, I've only ever been on two specific monster camps, and that was with friends, and we were getting exp as well. You don't NEED to camp the mobs with the 'ph4t l3wt' to play the game.

I started taking my magician to Dagnor's around level 16 and hunted there almost exclusively until level 25. That's a long time.
During that time, I NEVER heard anyone shout that Bilge was up. I never heard anyone shout that they had killed Bilge. I never heard any ranger or other tracker saying Bilge was on radar. I never saw Bilge. I heard ten thousand shouts like "Has anyone seen Bilge?" and "Paying 1000k for Bilge's location!" I've watched dozens of high level players spending hours slaughtering goblins, skeletons, rats, and snakes, hoping to trigger a Bilge spawn.
I don't doubt he exists, but he is ultra-rare, based on my experience. But actually, that isn't the worst Verant has done. At least, the Totem and Belt are nice items to have, not essential items for something else.

ok, i doubt anyone would pay 1000k for a location, that would be 1,000,000, so 1 million platinum, i doubt anyone even has that much

Lol All You can do is laugh heheh, But i agree its just DUMB LUCK and i too dont under stand the settings of this one . I like you have hunted for him since early days of my life and when I finally got him on track hes was benig trained to the Fab. 4 site( Im sure this happens most every time he spawns cause hes way higher lvl then all the mobs there and if your not there to hunt him you dont stand a chance. the average player lvl there is 15 to 25 they get exp. If you are there to hunt him well then you know its all green! I give great congrats to those who have gottin him but im not lucky so i too stoped tryin. ITS ALL LUCK SO DONT GET MAD WHEN YOU COME UP EMPTY AFTER 14HRS in a row Lol ( i will go into a little detail I camp him atleast 5hrs a day) But i know i know i know Im not lucky hehehe take care and may every one else be lucky

I went to Dagnors Cauldron today to kill Dwigus Lowater (Bilge's place holder), for a quest item.
I was there 5 minutes when I saw Bilge on tracking and thought i'd give him the old one two (or DD DOT) and get the belt (which I need). Instead I got the TOTEM woot woot yehaaa (not sure what woot means). Now do I sell it or use it, hmm.

I too have been hunting for Bilge, I have slayed Dwigus Lowater also, no spawn of Bilge on that day. I have tried various patterns, like killing everything that walks to or from the Hero's camp and still Bilge does not spawn. I think that Bilge is a random spawn without a placeholder.
I also have slain a named snake...and still no spawn of Bilge.

Had Bilge on Track last night. Chased him all over zone. Finally caught up to him. Please note, he was at full health (I'll explain in a moment). I rooted him and noticed he was carrying a doll. PKT I thought with delight! I cast a couple of DoTs on him and and nuked him once. When he died his body poofed along with the freaking PKT! No loot! Nothing Nada Zip Zilch. I petitioned and a guide tells me that if a mob doesn't have any items to loot it will poof like that. I call BULL! I saw the freaking totem in his hand! Anybody else ever come across this?

killed chief ry'gorr after camping the sob for 2 hours, i finally got him and i dotted him and ran. very odd that he then suddenly disappeared. a moment after he came on track and i got him. nuked his *** and were rdy to loot him, but he never left a corpse. he carried an odd spear in his hand. anyway petitioned and was told to wait additional 2 hours for another spawn. too bad. really sucks for 2 hours of waste. there u have it. u aint the only one

He may have had the doll in his had because it was part of the "character". I have killed many specs that didn't have scythes, but it's part of the "spectre" char. Just keep an open mind, you might not be a VICTIM of some horrible thing, you might have misinterpreted it. I don't know this for sure, but it's my first guess.

I agree, I have had it happen to me before too, though with not so high level characters. I was wandering in Crushbone and heard the death screams of two full groups of L12-16 approx. as Ambassador Dvinn cleaved his way through them. I ran over to help and killed him. However, a centurion jumped me and I had to kill him too. By the time I turned around, a minute or so later, the corpse was nowhere to be found. I asked a friend, a guy that has played since the early days and he told me that it happens like that sometimes, and petitions don't do any good because the body will disappear quickly without any goods on them. Just my two cents. Sorry about your loss. I feel the pain. )

As far as I know, Bilge has the same model as any other goblin, and a totem thing in the hand is not part of the model.

Never even found Bilge before, but as to the poofing body thing; a corpse with no loot will poof...but after a minute or so. I've done this with several mobs starting from lowly lvl 1 rats to crocs in oasis, but I have never heard of a higher lvl mob dropping nothing; they always seem to drop money when you get past mid 30's. I think Verant should have resolved your situation in a better way; but hey, we aren't paying for customer service, lol.

That's because there is a bug, which is admitted to and they want examples of so they can test.
The bug is that if a DoT does the killing blow sometimes it will eat the corpse, just as if an NPC had killed it and not a player.

If this really is a bug i've experienced it in several zones. For example in Cobalt scar kiting Wyverns, i would root and dot if i got low on mana. One day i blinked as the dot killed my victim and poof the body wasn't there but i did get the exp for the kill. Maybe the body went back to it's bindpoint or something, but... sounds close enough to that bug to be relevant.

I am Paladin and camp GB long time ago. The same thing happened to me again. The lord hold a sword but not GB. So I gave up to camp GB and bought one at Lv44, lol.

The issue goes further than that. Any mob that you kill has a corpse to loot. The GM's response to why the body poofed was that there was nothing lootable. After hunting hundreds of goblins in DC I know they at least have a couple of copper. To say that Bilge Poofed because he had no loot if accepted, would mean that:
Bilge had no Bow and Arrow
Bilge was penniless
Bilge was carrying a totem that was an illusion

i agree...i even remember killing armadillos at one time and looting them over and over only to find they never had loot (had to check every time anyway =P )...but their corpse was always there to loot after the kill regardless. a lootless corpse stays long enough to check for loot...that's bs what the gm said cuz they don't poof immediately.

I'd have to agree with you and personally I would petition again and ask to speak with a GM or send an email to customer service. Even when a mob doesn't have a thing on it its body was lootable, it didn't poof.

Your corpse got eaten by the DoT bug. Rarely, but sometimes, if a DoT kills the mob, it will clear the corpse from the zone. Dunno why. Verant sucks maybe?

actually you must have eaten a lot of **** cause you are very wrong. the active ingredient in lsd IS lsd (lysergic acid dyethylamide). mescaline is an unrelated compound related to amphetamine and i believe adrenaline and noradrenaline. both will make you hallucinate, but saying they are the same is like saying a honda and a nissan anre the same cause they both run over you.

It looked like a doll graphic in his hand? Hmm, from what i know and have seen the PGT had a shield graphic when Equiped. So the "doll" could of very well been just part of the character graphic.
Btw, why is it so immposiable for him to had nothing on him. Lol, it happens, we move on, get over it.

Ok this post is Post SoV. He is still there. He killed me as 29 druid. Was doing CR and no spells memd (ouch). I have not seen where he spawns and our guild spent the next few hours killing every single goblin in the zone. He was spotted between fab4 camp and unrest. During that time his brother came up only once. Would love to see what he drops for myself.

I killed him on Friday, Dec 18th. Picked him up on tracking between entrance to DC and Fab 4 camp. Rooted him, Couple DoT's. Dead. Looted Reed Belt. I am gonna go back for PKT now!

Camped DC for a few days and at the end of a 10 hour fishing, swimming, tidal lord death fest, Bilge finally popped at 6 am. This pop had a PKT too. Sweet! Still need a reed belt though. Doesn't seem to have a PH, just a loonnnnnggg and random spawn time and place. When I tracked him down, I found him just left of the zone entrance when you are entering zone right off the edge of the lake.

Good Lord Almighty! Our paths finally crossed last night and I killed him Dead as a doornail TWICE in 15 minutes! Yes, Twice! How you say? Well here is my story of joy and pain.. First off I'm now a 51 Druid and have been chasing this guy since level 20 or so. He came up on track under water in between Unrest and the Fab 4 camp. I followed him until he stopped not more than 25 feet from the FAB4 camp which is a very bad thing. If they would have attacked him I would have lost him to NPC's! I snared him and pulled him away from the camp where I proceeded to burn him down. At level 51 he was green to me but he rooted me, which I was very surprised to see. He dropped the Reed Belt and I went back to hunting again by pulling every Gob to the Fab4 camp for termination. In no more than 8 minutes I picked him up on track again but by this time had 5 gobs in tow pulling them to the FAB 4 camp, I followed Bilge and attacked him so now 6 gobs to include Bilge were on me. This created a very long and difficult battle. I snared all 6 within the next 5 minutes and kept trying to cast on Bilge but couldn't because of the torrent of arrows hitting me and inturrupting my casts. To my horror bilge ran through the NPC camp and I thought I would lose him to them. What happened next was amazing..they were off chasing another mob and I was spared the loss for the moment. Finally I got a DOT (Drifting Death) off and proceded to deal with the other 5 Gobs still making the whole affair difficult by their annoying arrows. All this time I was fearing being KS'ed by other players in the zone. Finally Bilge went down and I looted him as the others beat on me till I was down to one bub of health. With the second belt in hand I ran off and camped to clear the Aggro on the others. I tried to get back on but Verant had a huge patch going in and it was late so I waited till the next day to view my newly obtained Belts! It was one of the most exciting and crazy 10 minutes I have experienced in the game. Good Luck in your efforts to get this very rare and illusive Spawn. Minnx 51 Druidess (Karana)
Ok this is all good advice but.......Some things to point out...I am 45th lvl and activly tring to get the belt. I have search this zone many times then I read this post made lots of sence soooo I went and tried it...Rule 1 you must survie to be there to loot the belt. Keep heal memed at all times. gate dosn't hurt either. Rule 2. train size should not be too large. This you should self judge 5 or 6 marines no biggie...2 shawman and 2 lords and one marine killed me...I could have run and so yes It was bad judgment but I shouldn't have been to that point. Lords have lots of HP and the Fab4 as they are now called :) will not split up all on one target. also the gobs will not turn to them....they contiue to attack you. and well shamen will stand and nuke...and try to root never stuck me but not for lack of tryin....bad judgement on my part but Lets be careful out there :) bye all

I was looking for bilge, and I noticed that dwingus spawned, I tracked him to a spot between unrest and the goblin camp could this be the spot that bilge spawns? Could this be the spot where the PH is? I will be going in again and I will add to this if it happens, I will leave the <LOC> later good luck and if you have information leave it here. When you face unrest tunnel, it spawn at your left. I also caught him once, in the water between that spot and the island, he's like diving and I was wondering why I had him on track and I could'nt find him. Although his spawn rate is very long, and I mean VERY long. Only thing you can hope is none will steal it from you, maybe it should be a good thing to be more then one. I'd say his spawn place is between orc camp and unrest tunnel. Hope that helps!

Dwigus spawns every 4 hours, Bilge is random, but noticed the 4 times I have been in on kills, 3 solo that he spawned in the water between Unrest and the island. The one time he did not spawn in the water he was next to Unrest and had the PKT. He wields the doll if he has it. When he dropped the PKT he did not have the belt.

I and I'm sure about a hundred other people would like to know some more information on this guy, from reading numurous posts on all kinds of sites I have found out he spawns randomly between Unrest and the Fabulous 4 NPC camp, infact I say him just yesterday just behind the NPC camp, but some other 51 ranger got him :(

I found some more info that will help... Bilge may be a 24 hour spawn, ssaturday night when the ranger got him it was about 8:30pm... sunday karana went down for about an hour, and i camped bilge from about 5pm-9pm... the i had to log... monday i camped bilge from 3pm-11pm and he poped about 9:45pm... so he just might be a 24 hour spawn and when the server went down for the 1-2 hours it offset the spawn a little, although i was not on sunday night to see if he poped between 10 and 11... He has NO PH... I think this is the final outcome on the bilge spawn and I will find out for sure tonight i will be camping him from 3pm-11pm and if he spawns... he is MINE!! MUHAHAHAHA, ill let yall know :)

Ok folks. I play on druzzil and here's what i know to be fact about the cauldron.
1. no set spawn for either goblin or flotsam and jetsam, or barnacle, or the slither fellow...
2. the rat flotsam drops that neato rat tail whip, barnacle drops a bone pauldron, and jetsam drops a pouch of bone dust expendable with 1 charge of invis to undead.
3. Bilge is level 30. He is the rarest of the spawns. I've killed him or helped kill him 4 times. getting the belt 3 times and seeing the kedge looted once. (i rolled a 4) He also drops the pre requisite bow and arrows, and some change.
4. Dwigus is level 35. He has been spawning ALOT more lately, and he ONLY drops the breast plate of the constant ingot. it looks like a bar of plat. I have killed or helped kill dwigus like 10 times... and he has NEVER dropped anything else.
I live in the cauldron. I have swam it, ran around it, levitate over it. talked to every npc in the zone. even killed the guys at safe camp to see if he's spawn. (heavy faction hits i'd avoid this). you CAN kill bilge solo if you are smart, at least level 30 and a druid. i maxed out my def buffs, damage shields, cast levitate, snared him, and ran around kiting for like 20 mintues. but it can be done.
1. no set spawn for either goblin or flotsam and jetsam, or barnacle, or the slither fellow...
2. the rat flotsam drops that neato rat tail whip, barnacle drops a bone pauldron, and jetsam drops a pouch of bone dust expendable with 1 charge of invis to undead.
3. Bilge is level 30. He is the rarest of the spawns. I've killed him or helped kill him 4 times. getting the belt 3 times and seeing the kedge looted once. (i rolled a 4) He also drops the pre requisite bow and arrows, and some change.

Well I killed him, and he dropped 3 PKTs and 2 belts. I was kinda dissapointed though. He usually drops at least 4 PKTs. By the way did I mention the guy who posted 'PHREAKS' is an idiot?
He will only drop one item or the other. Never both and never more than one. Camping him is a ***** and a half though. My friend(Druid) got him by sitting at unrest entrance and using track. Eventually picked him up and slaughtered him

I have looted 2 CB belts off an orc that popped while I was camping trainer hill. He popped right in front of me. Noone could have given him a belt for kicks. Glitches like this can happen.

I've talked to rangers who have gotten bilge a couple times. Basically they simply kill every dang goblin in the zone that wanders. High level melee can do this much faster than the druid's who really want the stuff.
They seem to think Bilge has an equal chance of spawning anywhere. So although he does not have a "placeholder" per se, every gob in the zone is kind of a placeholder. Sometimes he'll even spawn in the middle of the "fabulous four" or whatever camp and they kill him pretty fast making anyone who sees this cry.
One ranger I was talking to about this killed him and got the pkt AND reed belt. Made me sick.

I've seen FBSS sell on my server for 8 k. They are very overvalued. You can also get one eventually just grouping where they drop.
If you don't want this thing you should NEVER sell it for money. In a trade you could easily get an FBSS and several things. Money is worthless since people price gouge for the best stuff.

It was a good deal as long as you did not spend the 40 kp for an FBSS... far more common than PKT and far less value... FBSS goes for around 8-9 kp on Tribunal, PKT has never been publicly auctioned on Tribunal to my knowledge.

Bilge Farfathom does exist, however he is such an unpredictable spawn no one knows where or how to make him spawn. If they do they would be mad to share it with us all... Once I camped him for 15 continuos hours and he did not pop. Then on the other had I have seen him spawn twice in 15 minutes...

Anyone who will pay 10k for 5wisdom is insane. A paw of oppola only goes for 5 or 6k on the nameless, and it is 9wis and then some.

loser! the 10k item is a belt, Paw is a freakin' totem, i mean how many good belts give wis that a group of 35's can camp drop? and Paw sells for 10k on quellious (the server of drastically reduced prices) oh well have fun all

Ha! 10k for a paw of opalla! on my server they go for 4.5-6k! i think my server is by far the cheapest of servers. Nathsars go for 350 daily

Have they changed the spawn?? I got two reed belts in one day..I had to leave the game and gave them away...now I am back and really need one and he doesnt want to spawn..btw I killed Dwigus 4 times in a row yesterday..he dropped the ingot for the Cleric BP every time.

It used to be dropped on Bilge but they changed it recently because of the Bilge camping. The item is dropped on Dwigus now for the Cleric BP. I know, I just got one for my cleric yesterday.
