seems to me that this little ray of sunshine is powerful enough to free himself and take on most of the orcs in CB by himself, so why does he aggro those of us who are there to help him? to top it off, when you smack him back, you lose faction in ak'anon. the fantastic four (helpful npc camp) in dagnor's are also eldritch collective, so i guess they won't be savin' my bacon the next time i get into trouble with the aqua gobs...

It is imperative that you keep him near the beginning of the zone, as he will not only target fleeing players and root them with his pet, he'll blast them out of oblivion. Furthermore, any new players entering the zone will be attempting to get their corpse. It is VITAL that they are not able to return to warn others of his presence. That way, people will continue to enter the zone, only to be attacked by a centurion and rooted by GOOD OLE' RETLON!

if no one attacks him retlon doesn't attack anyone. I was in a group that stood around his pit waiting for slavers and taskmasters for hours and he did nothing but cast on his pet and another slave in the pit with him. I even went down and talked to him. As soon as we attacked however he killed all of us, instantly (that's a 12 ranger, 11 ranger, 10 wizard, 14 cleric and 12 druid). All dead in less than a minute. It was a real ***** getting out corpses.

My group was having it out with Lord Darish and
a few guards, I discovered someone was casting and sinking my feet into the ground. It was Retlon's Pet! So I killed it...
I was so pissed, I though another player was attacking me. med'd up and went back! Then I looked him up discovering he's an NPC

First of all, 14 x 2 = 28, genius. Not 30.
Second of all, a red con simply means he is at least 3 levels higher than you. One or two levels above you and they're yellow. How far below you they'll con blue depends on your level. The range increases as you go up. My 49 SK still cons some mobs as blue when I know darn well they're in their mid to upper 30s at best.
Thirdly, (just FYI) Wizards get Root at lvl 4, Chanters get it at lvl 8, Clerics at lvl 9, Shaman at lvl 14, Pallies at lvl 22, and Necros at lvl 34. I don't know what Mages call their root-type spell or when they get it, but if he's got an Earth pet, then it would seem that's what he must be.

hello get your mind on track red means someone is atleast +3 lvls ahead of you and most every pure casters (being enchater nerco mage and wizzie) get root at lvl 8 i should know i have a lvl 8 dark elf enchanter in the cb right know

He's not really evil. He'll only come out with the slavers, so if possible, try giving him the appropriate key to make him disappear for a while and it will save your gnome faction and your life before you go to pull the slavers or taskmaster.

OK im in cb camping the slayers legos oracles and taskmaker in the little area where relton spawns i was in a group of four wizard (me), bard, druid, paladin and we were fighting the tasmaker (none of us knew about relton) when i was casting the lvl 8 fire bolt spell on the taskmaker and i see this message you are hit for 48 non mele damage by relton breclong whats the deal with him he still can kill me at 12 sometimes.

I'll be honest, out of all the NPCs in Crushbone, I believe this one is the toughest. One is because he can cast spells, so while you're running you're taking damage, orcs and Dvinn cant hit you if they cant catch you, thanks SOW! And second is his pet, what an awful little bugger that thing is. Even when you're trying to run, it'll root you and you die if you arent high enough level, easy and simple as that. To make things worse, if you kill him, you lose gnome faction and that isnt too great either if you like gnomes or am a gnome yourself. No big loot, but people seem to like to free him for some stupid reason, oh well, I'm just runnin when I hear he's on the loose.

Retlon is a pain, if I recall correctly, when I was a 24 Mage, I came here for kicks, wiped out Emperor Crush a few times, and D'Vinn a couple, then went to Retlon's spawn point. He popped, sent pet in and started Nuking. He resisted, and brought up his pet, which tied mine up. Then he started Nuking me. You must realize that almost any NPC is gonna be stronger (Sometimes considerably..) than what he con's. I was lucky to escape with my life. Now that I am 40, I came back to CB just to kill him. Ahh.. it felt good.

GBS comes off Pyzjin, a female gnome of about lvl 12 in Qeynos Hills.
Retlon cost me many deaths. It was a pleasure to park my lvl 39 necro pet on his spawn point and go have a snack.

I absolutely hate this dude. He is way underconned and likes to kill anything and everything that he possibly can. He and his pet caused much havoc in my younger days in crushbone.
