In the Tower of Frozen Shadow: Part of the final encounter within the Tower of Frozen Shadow anniversary raid (see this quest entry for raid information).
In Castle Mistmoore: Makes a non-combative appearance in the "Summoning the Master" anniversary group mission.
In the Mob Graveyard: Was previously known to make rare appearances in Castle Mistmoore (perhaps only as part of GM events).

Mmm.. Sleeper cant be killed, and I know that whenever they pop this guy he kills everyone...

Sleeper can be killed, he is Kerafyrm in Sleeper's Tomb, and does anyone know the story of mr. mistmoore here? i never heard of him killing sleeper.

Mayong IS GM controled, or at least he is part of the time. He has been in and out of MM castle for different gm events over the last three years. Where he walks in MM castle is completely up to the gm controling him. Screenshot is probably accurate.

No one gives a sht about grammer, no one cares about your "uber guild", or your alts or anything else. All the want to know is what this guy is, if he is a spawn or gm event. NOONE can say if hes the tuffest NPC in game cuz no one knows. The most helpfull thing outta this whole f*ing messafe board is the picture, (which is not fake as far as i can see), and the post put up by the person from beta as for the rest of the BS, maybe the'll delete um cuz they ain't worth the time to read them.

Heres an old screen shot from my old guild about 3 years ago. It was a gm event witch produced an RBB to one of my old guildys (runed bolster belt, ac5, +10 str,dex,sta and 35% haste, all/all)

First off, if your going to talk about a mob, use proper english. Secondly, a period or even a comma can help to decipher your Handicapped Guide to reading from a moron's point of view. Thirdly, capital letters usually start a sentence. Where ever you are from go to the local junior college and take a beginners english course. It'll help for things like this.

It cant be proved that this guy is the strongest or weakest the reason it is such a big deal to kill this guy is that he is GM Controlled you have to request to a GM to take him down and then the GM decides if he/she is going to log on Mayong MM.Meaning where you can go into Sleepers and attempt the warders to spawn Sleeper a GM has to decide to spawn Mayong.While it would be hard to spawn Sleeper it is much more possible than Mayong that is why it is such a big deal to take this guy.BTW im not sure why but some guild on my server got banned trying to do sleeper they got to the 4th warder and for some reason most of the guild got banned the guild being Conquest on Lanys Tvyl

I read of it elsewhere..it seems the people of conquest were either hacking or using some sort of cheat to get sleeper...and they got caught cheating.Verant being strict as they are,baned em for it...and from what i read(on 2 dif web sites)sleeper spawned and they DID kill it.

Ok from what I heard Conquest used a glitch in the geography in the zone to keep their Clerics and casters where they couldnt be touched and proceeded to take down the Warders. During the fourth Warder battle, GMS spawned the sleeper and the guild was massacred. the gms then ported all members to the FP arena and disbanded them. Harsh huh?
They attemped to use a pathing bug to put their clerics in a spot that they couldn't be attacked. The raid failed, but they were still banned for exploiting the bug.

from what i heard, GM's heard of the raid/bugs and came in, buffed and healed the sleeper, and he proceed to wreak havoc.

Well as the story goes Mayong was the person who battled the sleeper so that the warders could put him to sleep. So it's safe to say Mayong is a bad ******* BTW he's a bard

It seems a lot of you are still new to Everquest. Back in the days when it was first released (and in the old Beta days when Megalodon roamed OOT) Mayong was just a regular spawn. This was probably because Mistmoore still wasn't completed yet. Back then, he wasn't really tough (something like a level 40 mob, but that was strong enough when everyone was 5-15). That was waaay back in February of 1999, when EQ still ran on DX5, wasn't bogged down with textures, and you could run it on a pentium 200 with some smoothness. (Oh, and the DOT spells were a lot more powerful). The only thing he dropped was a fine-steel rapier or something of the sort, since the mobs weren't given specific loot drops.

... But old school EQ was a lot more fun than it is today. Back then, you could buff up mobs, let loose your pet, break free of charm whenever you felt like it, etc... Munchkins barely existed, and when they did, they found themselves up against fire-shielded, sowed spectres. They made perfect mulch. Aaah, those were the days. Now, if anyone plans to create a good massacre, it takes a lot of planning. Granted, they make for more interesting tactiful massacrists, but it still can be done.

well after spending a lot of time in Howling Stones i recently noticed the faction hits i was getting and..... my faction with MayongMistmoor could not get any better :0) so i traveled to MM castle to see for myself... everything i conned was indifferent :0) i spent a little time wandering the castle checking things out. you don't know how nice it feels to be standing at zone in when the hugest trains runs by and i don't get agroed on. subsequently Venril and Drussil Sathir could not hate me anymore.
on a different note, reportedly there is a master key quest in Howling Stones i know of no one who has done the quest, but in starting to think that maybe the key quest is out of MM since your faction increases(MM) with every kill in HS.

And yes he is a GM event...and yes he will clean your clock...and yes it doesnt matter if her were level one.. He is, bar none, the baddest thing I have seen in three years of playing this game. All those wonderful spells you got? Forget em.. he does not get taunted, so he kills your casters. Remember he is GM controlled. Then he summons anyone else he feels like killing until the guild gives up stops trying. 30 second death touch big deal..

I think they should make Mayong some kind of quest NPC that can actually turn PC's into vampires. You should have to do some sort of epic quest that will entice him to invite you to the dark brotherhood. The benefits would be wolf/bat form, massive melee and mana buffs, but these would only last until dawn. During the day you would of course be severly limited in your actions. The benefits and drawbacks could be balanced out, but I think it would add a cool roleplaying twist to the game. Maybe limit it to shadowknights and necros only. They could also do it with the werewolves. Lycanthropy would be another cool addition. I guess the more variety in the game the better it is. Just thought it would be interesting.

As long as we're tossing out silly ideas, why stop with alcohol? I think psychedelic mushrooms you can forage that make your screen go all pretty, and make you get attacked by mobs that aren't really there would be more fun than anything... what better way to while away time on that 8hr camp waiting for Dilin Starshine to spawn... stupid STUPID Dilin... I'm not bitter, really.

Hey, dont knock his idea, as far fetched as it may seem, it would add a certain "fun" aspect and more Roleplaying quality, though, the idea of daylight drawback would make for WICKED downtime, i still think it has a lot more opportunity then yours.

I doubt if it was even Brad McQuaid who ran him. It could've been any of the hierarchy of senior GMs.

from what I have heard on my server xev he spawns (dont know about the gm thing) on the EW new year. This is rumor and I have not confirmed it but it would be easy to just wait till newyears eq time a person good with math could figgure it out and just show up in MM. Just adding to the rumor mill but hope it helps someone.

I believe that he only appears when a GM logs into his character and makes him come alive! Look all you want, he only arrives with a GM type event!
