lava elemental  

The spawn time is helpful, thanks for all the info you all have contributed. I did get the Lava Elemental to spawn, but only one did. He was the pathing place holder. Obviously he aggroed me and I killed him, but no others spawned. They hit me and my pet anywhere from 12-80 damage. 57 earth pet with unresistable 33 fire DS gave him nice damage over the whole fight... it only lasted a bit longer than 15 seconds because the gnomes did buff as said before.

I wish the other static would have spawned. Might have given me a better chance at the PoF. I did get the Runed Lava Pendent and a Bloodstone (sorry for those that camped it forever :) got it on my first kill. I was praying that it was the PoF. Every epic kill so far as been the item I need drop from the first mob I killed, all except the dread wolves (Kithicor), but they're not listed as dropping the items I needed anyway.

I would assume the startegy would be to get the statics to spawn and leave the PH alone. So you could keep the Elemental spawn going. We'll see if I can do this if I ever get the static spawns.

I remember having camped, a long time ago, even before Velious and Luclin, this lava elemental with a friend in the hope to get a Runed lava pendant ... of course we never got one ...

Today, I went with my mage there, thinking I would have better chances to get Power of Fire on lava elemental than on Blazing elementals (and also because I HATE when gobbos KS me the blazing ... always looks like I lost a PoF hehe).

5 PH, then one lava. Guess what dropped? RLP of course. Now that you can find spider fur collar (AC10 7str etc) for 100pp :/

Ok, has anybody else discovered the secret passage in the pillar of lava in the middle of this room? If you step into the lava and try to move downwards you'll go through the floor. Then if you look around there is a passage. You can follow it, but you are taking damage from being inside lava, plus you are holding your breath as well. I used a Waterstone to breath, and got my fire resistance to 82, which made me take 23 damage a hit, and went as far as I could till I was barely above half health. This obviously leads somewhere but you need either a lot of HP, or very high Fire resistance to get far enough to tell. I got to where the tunnels opened up to a larger area, but had to turn back then or risk dying down there (a corpse run here would be a real pain).

I am very curious where this goes cause I can't find it on any of the maps I have seen of SolA.

I just wanted to say that at level 49 this little green Lava Elemental puts up a decent fight and after about 6 or 7 spawns I got 2 lava potions, 3 PoF's and one sweet Runed Lava Pendent! now if I could just find a buyer.....

Hey dude camping for 26 hours this is no where near the blazing elementals.. =/

If you are level 42 or above, the gnomes will not help each other or the elemental. If you have KOS faction, I would assume the ones that are still blue will agro, but I've not experienced this personally. If you are under 42, regardless of faction, they will all attack you if you try to kill one of them.

I am currently camping this floating **** for a pendant...as a 45 monk all the nearly all the clockworks in the joint are green with the exception of a few XA XB and XC models....i am dubious now to them and despite what i have heard from other sources, none of the gnomes or clockworks aggro when another is attacked or if the lava elemental is attacked....this might change if my faction worsens. Ive spent about 20 hours in that room and have seen 0 pendants....i think i am quite unlucky but it is very bad....
fighting the elemental isnt too hard unless he has his nasty damage shield up...in which case i, having no way to dispell him, just FDed healed up timed how long it takes for him to recast the damage shield, its 5 minutes so just hang out wait and attack when the 5 minutes is up. there are 5 spawn points in the room 4 of which are stationary near the 4 pillars in the room. the 5th spawn is a wanderer just walks around the room....this is either the lava elemental or the PH.....the spawn time for the room is 20 minutes...good luck, or at least better luck than ive had

Would appreciate it if someone posted 1) how hard this guy hits (i.e. does he do the normal 72 max damage for a level 35 NPC or does he hit like a giant) and 2) do the gnomes group agro with him? (doesn't make much sense for them to, but hey, this is EQ)
