Was in Sro camping the AC last night, when over the hill comes this bugger. I was with a 40 wizzy, 30 ranger, and my self a 36 necro. it conned yellow to me, so it is only 37 or 38.
this thing also seems to have a decent MR too.
our wizzy tried to snare the bugger, which did no good, I finaly ended up using fear. this guy runs at sow speed, as with fear on it we could only keep up with it. after fear broke it proceeded to kill out wizzy, as he finaly got snare on it. after 5 more fear attempts one stuck on it.
so watch plan for a few resists if you fight this bug.

After killing everything in desert part of SRo (except static spawns) for over an hour this guy finally spawned dropped 3 silks and a leg. Silks are aparently for erudite cultural armour.
I wonder if there is an easier way to make him spawn.
Guess the only way to determine this would be to chart spawns completely.

Killed this guy tonight 6-4-01 was blue to me at 43 had around 4k hps took me and a 42 cleric all we had to drop it hit me for a max of mid 90's plus 6 point poison dropped 5 silks.

Okay, IRL i always had a fear of spiders. I used to not be able to touch them. Post my 4 USMC years i got to the point were i instinctivly killed them when i saw them, but was still very much in a fear reaction.
First time a giant spider got in front of me on EQ i was lucky, i had my screen on 'small' (the option with all the control around it) so it didn't appear that big... but it still messed with me.
The other night i was looking over my friends shoulder when this thing appeared. Let me just say EXCELLANT job verant... for all your **** ups you made one whiz bang big monster here that is truly an impressive image on the screen. The fear rush i got was awesome.
Then i logged on, grabbed myself a posse, and we killed this sucker.

Forgot to mention, that friend of mine is an old buddy from the Corp too and he LOVES erudites. He always was mad that he (he's black) couldn't find a good character to play in most games, cause most game companies don't care about the small game segment he represents.
Don't think he's ever been so happy as when he got the silk, then logged on after to find out what it could be sued for. His tailoring was already in the 160's, so he's gonna try and make himself some armor.
Again, every now and then, all the hours we put into this game just pay off.

I've got an Iksar monk, and was in SRo when i thought i saw a tarantula right in front of me. So i decided to try and get silk from it, only to find that it was too far away to attack... It looked like is was standing right in front of me, until it moved towards me, filled the whole screen and hit me for well over a hundred right off... THANK GOD FOR FEIGN DEATH!!!!! :)

As of 3-15-01 erudites can create a race specific armour using terrorantula silk. I would like to hear if they drop it yet. I am only lvl 29, but I hope to make this armour when I am high enough to kill these things. Please let me know if it drops...

I saw him aging to night (5-09-01) and killed him. I got 4 silk and a set of legs. I did a vendor price check and they give 3 plat for the silk and 5 plat for the legs. I will find a Erudian to see if he want to but them.

Recently killed this guy twice in an hour, first time got the legs, second time got a terrorantula heart, weighs 20 and would only fit in a large sewing kit. Guess this is another "lost" part?

I think I remember the orc npc in the NW corner or his buddy talking about the terrorantula. Might want to check out the messages you get from them. I havent yet but if I get success I'll post here.

It's getting altered to drop "Terrorantula Silk",which will be used in Erudite cultural tailored armors. The info is on a new note on the Test server,along with an Erudite sewing kit. :)

Revenge is mine, sayeth the Cleric. Just took out this overgrown arachnid in S Ro tonight....lvl 40 Cleric with a lvl 41 Necromancer friend. By Tunare, it felt good to smoke this thing after some deaths at it's hands as a young and wide-eyed cleric.
As others here have mentioned, this thing has a ton of HPs and hits fast, though the poison is laughable. It was blue to me at 40, so I'm inclined to agree with an earlier post saying this thing is 37, not 40. I will try and see if I can do anything with the legs quest-wise; perhaps with all these recent patches the quest has been fixed (yeah, right....;p)
Anyway, safe journeys to you all, and good luck on that AC ring. (which is why we're all there, after all)

While camping the AC I saw this guy and he conned blue to a 45. My pet and I barely survived the duel. He had about 3500 hps. I hit him 5 time @ 585 per hit, and my pet did plenty of damage. My pet was down to 1/10 HPS and I had plenty of mana left. Looted the Gargantuan Leg.

im playing a level 12 Troll warrior and i got spanked by thsi terrorantula thing when i was fighting a Desert Turantula and i ran over the hill to find this big nasty thing chasing me across the whole zone and past an Orc camp where 3 orcs happened to agro on me as well... if it wasnt for the waekish poison that it had i would have been toast!

Killed him tonight, was blue to lvl 40 so he is NOT 40...anyhoo I thought about the guy in Misty who collects bugs, he say something about the a big spider when I was little and completed his quest...so I tried to give him the leg...nada, had to kill the lil bugger to get it back..so he is a dead end.
The Leg you need for Blixxlin Entopop drops on the Kicknik/Klaknack Queens in Qeynos and Misty Thicket, respectively.

i heard something about the quest ending in surfall glade... i don't know if this is true but hey it is worth a shot. doesn't help givin the same guy the same thing over and over... you tend to get the same results and that is a dead end at misty
