Posted:Sep 19 2001 at 11:16 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I was wondering if anyone had any useful information. It looks to me like anyone above lvl 34 can take him easy, but what I'm interested in is how long his spawn time is and where he spawns. Please only give concrete info

Yeah, he drops the kilij plans but the farther EQ evolves the less a 10dmg 35dmg 1h slasher has appeal. At lvl 39 (necro) i just darkness, fear and let my pet waste him, he is a panzy SG...drops good coin though, as most SGs do. He hit Jabantik for a max of about 64 if I recall right. Basic SG, Lots of HP for level, hits hard, but MR is in the basement. Easy kill.
Me and three friends from DeVir were hunting the AC last night when this guy spawned right after we took down our 3rd SG. He spawned Close to the Gypsy camp and the Merchants were on him in seconds. He was dead before I could do more then 200 damage to him. He was blue to me at lvl 30. I did not get any loot cause the Merchants killed jim. AHHH
Me and a guild mate 52 druid killed everything in the zone (I mean everything even merchants) looking for Hussam or his place holder and no pop. I spent about 4 hours killing stuff and no spawn. Can anybody help out?
Don't know if this was a fluke or not. But, I had just cleared out the south west derv camp in SRO, I turned around and suddenly there was this named sand giant behind me. I've only seen him once but the dervs mat be PH's for him.
Not a chance. Being a giant, he outruns you, hits hard, and has a lot of HP. I attempted him at level 34 and I was wasted. He resists all fire spells. A level 34 class of some other might be able to take him.
His levels vary...he conned blue to me lvl 25 rogue when i once saw him....he is a VERY rare spawn...once every RL week he can appear on a normal basis, but i once saw him twice in 2 days (well, heard he was killed twice in 2 days...i was bored in oasis)
i am a lvl 39 paladin and soloed him easy, con'ed only green, droped the plans, and got my boots :) only bad thing was getting my faction high enough with the damn dwarves, but i did it by turning in about 300 bone chips, if you have a ghoulbane, on a good 2hand slasher, or any weapon with an attack of 14 or higher, and at lvl 34-35 you should have no problem soloing this giant especially if you have your LoH ready. Well good luck to you

Sandgiant Hussam is level 25. The Kilij Plans (which always drops) along with 3 enchanted gold bars can be given to Bilbo (found close to the Druid Guild in Kelethin) for the Brazen Brass Kilij. You will get decent experience up to level 34 and the sword can be sold on average around 350-400pp.
We can discuss who he's 'blue to' for a week (who he's WHITE to might be more interesting), but does anyone have any hard data about fighting him?
how hard does he hit? how fast? how many hp? Any special attacks/defences? Can a group of mid-twenties take him handily or is he like a regular SG that needs to be heavily outgunned?
If you've actually *fought him successfully* please share your wisdom.
Seems so have *very* high FR. At 37 (Im a mage), cinder bolts are mostly resisted, even after malise (Ordinar SGs doesnt seem to resist my bolts at all), so I usually whack him with the lvl24 shock of spikes, and let the pet chew on him for a while :) Hit for max 58 on me i think.
Just took this guy down and thought I'd share. (30th level Necro)
Was running down to Guk to meet someone when I saw this thing tromping around in South Ro. Mana check.... 20% Sat down and did a power med, hoping that no one would take him down before I gained full mana. When I was at 90% (with pet already cast) I did a who and saw 3 others in the zone that were my level so I decided it was now or never. Didn't get a chance to prebuff myself, didn't have one spell icon on my screen whatsoever.
I engulfed it on my first try and sent in my pet. Proceeded to fear kite the thing while trying to get Boil blood to stick. No luck, 2 failed boil bloods and I decided this thing has good fire resistance. (makes sense to me). Nuked it twice for 160DD a shot. Meanwhile, pet was at 40% health when my engulfing darkness wore off. It charged at me, knocked me down 2 bubbles and proceeded to fall down so nicely (nice death sequence =) I was totally OOM at the time and my pet was at roughly 35% hit points, then a dry bone attacks me and I looted the plans and ran to the Innothule zone while my pet kept the DBS busy.
No idea on how many hit points it has, it's speed seemed quite high but my spell slowed him to a manageable level. When he hit me he was doubling for 59 (highest I saw) I'll be better prepared to take him next time, sure wish one of my dots would have stuck =) Oh, at level 30 it didn't even budge my xp bar, probably becuase my pet did most of the damage since I was concentrating on keeping it feared. 2 failed Boil Bloods = 3 Shock of Poisons which would have made the battle go a lot smoother. Hope this helps someone. Kind of fun taking out a giant.
One last thing, as anyone who has ever fought large critters before. The fact that they are so big makes you misjudge your distance to them, and they run faster than a normal mob so be careful (not quite SOW speed though)
I too had an experience like that. Me and a friend ( I'm lvl 29 mage and he's lvl 29 rogue ) were wandering through Sro when this guy popped very near the gypsy camp. I was the one who actually saw it but luckily he was at the camp. He pulled it while i was at 20 mana and pet without burnout 2. He went down to about 40 % of his life before the pet started tanking for a bit ( the thing was double attacking for 61s ). All i had to do was nuke it 2 times with Shocks ( 173 each, no resistance ) and he fell with pet at 3 % health. It WAS a close call but as with Morwenn...it would have been a lot smoother if i had some more mana.
Vergere Rikishae Mage of the 29th Summon Honor of Knights
He conned green to me at lvl 40, im prety sure of that. Uggruk also said he conned green to him at lvl 38, so he can't be lvl 29, at least those we've seen.
