Well, I just soloed him as a 47 necro. I used the secret engulfing darkness pull technigue. then my pet easily soloed him. I cant tell you teh technigue, because verant might decide to nerf it :(

There is nothing secret about the technique. Dark the mob you want to pull, surrounding mobs also come then FD. Guess what? All others can able to walk back to their spawn point except the one that you've darked. Why do you think SK's can single pull almost every time.

My level 24 warrior was just killing time in the caves and got jumped by this punk. Never even got to see him. He charmed me and then hit me about four times...needless to say I am level 23 now...

I decided to play around with some newbie mobs and as i was in the caves i saw "you loose control of yourself" i fought back with my 44 nuke but the 1st time instead of doin 450 it did 322 i rooted him dotted him snared him then casted my nuke again as i began to cast it said i was stunned when stun broke he feared me all over the cave then i went LD had to get back on to have my body summoned(

It took a couple tries but I am now able to solo Meldrath using the following strategy: 1) Buff up with Rune IV, Magic Resistance, Arch Shielding ,Radiant Visage and all your mana buffing spells to max your mana level, 2) Invis and go into room where Meldrath spawns, 3) Entrance Meldrath, then Entrance the Guards (they interrupt casting so get them out of the way), then mez the Pet. 4) Entrance gives you 72 seconds, so nuke Meldrath with Discon. Mind, 5) Entrance him again, 6) Re-entrance the Guards and the Pet for a fresh 72 seconds, 7) Nuke Meldrath again, 8) Entrance him again, 9) finally nuke him one last time (he has over 1k hp) and 10) loot and gate out of there before the others break mez.

I was surprised at how many hitpoints he had for a caster of 35th level or so. For the skull that most seek, there is one you loot off Meldrath and another on the floor near him. The one on the floor is NOT the one needed for the Ivy Etched Tunic. Like the quest states, the skull must belong to Meldrath.

Hi all,

Last night my 49th level high-elven enchanter friend Corbix and I (a 43rd lvl dwarf paladin) took out Meldrath and those around him.

I tanked Meldrath while Corbix mezzed the Minotaur Guards (I think that's what he did, I was kinda busy) and the skellie pet did... nothing. Maybe Corbix mezzed him and I missed it, I don't know. Or maybe at 25 he just didn't aggro on us, but I find it strange that a pet wouldn't defend its master when he's being attacked.

Anyhoo, Meldrath went down pretty rapidly -- I don't have unusual magic resists, mine is 33 with my current armor set, and Corbix cast Endure Magic on me. In any event, Meldrath went down fairly fast, none of his fears worked on me or Corbix. Then I took out his skellie, and then his two guards. After that, a few slavers popped and aggroed on Corbix who was medding, and we dispatched those quickly.

I began this fight dubious to both Meldrath and his minotaurs (I hadn't fought the minotaurs much previously) and even afterward (after killing at least 7 of 'em, including Meldrath and his skellie, the guards and the slavers) I conned dubious to the Minotaurs I encountered on my way out. So unless human paladins are particularly hated by Meldrath (I wouldn't know), you guys should be okay.

Just my two cp, hope this helps all of you looking to take down Meldrath!

im a 51st Druid and this guy feared em and sent me right out the cave. when he came out he whipped the flore with me. God i hate druid!!!

Maybe before you do an important quest you should get the info from the the quest giver. Everyone thinks they are an expert, but the NPC won't lead you wrong on bad info(unless a bug).

well we just did the arms and where going for the tunic we where 38th tank 36th ranger 40th druid 36th lvl shaman and my self 37th ranger we got him without much problem but no skull thought the one in cave was it lost 300p in rubys because you people post stupid stuff that doesnt matter and make it to long to read

Just a thought, I wonder if a rogue can sneak up behind him and pickpocket the skull? I'm not a rogue, so don't know if this is possible, but I've had rogue friends pickpocket boby parts from mobs before. :)

That is like, THE BIGGEST lie!!!!! you would never be able to take Meldrath because you are 12 he is probably 32 or something around there! he would hit you a couple times and kill you!!

I'm a lvl 50 ranger and I was camping the hero today. I was feeling nice so I let a 35 pally group up for a roll on shackles if they dropped. The pally wanted to kill meldrath for the heck of it(would he have been so anxious if I weren't lvl 50).

Anyway, harmonied the guards, dropped em like rocks, very easy.

Meldrath himself is a pain. He landed one spell on me that actually stuck. I resisted all his fears, DoTs etc. It's his damage shield that hurts...especially if you're a lvl 50 dual wielding ranger. He has a LOT of hitpoints too. His pet is kinda lame and when down pretty quickly, but I doubt that I could have soloed this room without the pally taking the hits from the pet. Meldrath dropped me to less than a bub of health. Very tough undercon. Green to me but fought like a lvl 40 mob. Black con to 35 pally. Didn't drop a thing, not even the skull for tunic.

At lvl 40 I cleared out the entire cave. Got feared by Meldrath and ran all the way out. Well I felt tough and thought I could take him. Well... I wasnt even close. can't kill a guy that you cant get near. Everytime I tried to get near him I got feared and ran all the way back out the tunnel

Now, this is the little gnome who sits near a part of the ancient paladin hero for the divine might quest. Any idea if the minotaurs and/or Meldrath the midget would agro on me, a human paladin who hasn't touched a gnome or a minotaur?

I am a paladin also who hasnt touched a Gnome either and Im aprehensive to all the npc good natured gnomes. I would have to say yes you would be Kos to this gnome. He seems to be either a Necro or Shadow Knight, I dont know which though and as every Paladin knows neither like us very at all. As for the Minos they hate everyone but their own kind.

I was cruzing through the caves killing minotaurs for fun when I ran into this guy. He was way below me in lvls, but he still feared me. Didnt matter though, my pet owned him while I was busy running around while feared. He dropped the skull, I have it in my bank.

I'm a 46th level Shaman, was in the Mino caves beating up that dwarf for Clurg faction. Anyway I heard him casting so I wanted to con him. He aggro'd on me (none of the guards did though) so I figured what the heck and tried to bash him. It was going pretty good, but he's got a ton of hp's though and hits pretty hard.. 70+. I wasn't buffed up or I probably could have taken him, I had to gate out with him at 20% health or so. He's got way more hp's than I did at 35 = )

Just a little bit ago, while near qeynos, There was a shout across the land (in WHITE lettering.) for special ingredients. I ran and offered shark skins to the person, they gave 25pp! Well, I had a stack, so I filled the trade window with skins. 200pp!!! ok....now....

She asked for a bertox foloower, and a group. He chose me. All group membeers were around lvl6, except me at a fresh 20. We had to run two zones and make a delivery without using magic. We delivered a magic container to a MELDRATH (the mmalificent perhaps) who gave everyone a NO RENT coin. We turned them in at Qeynos.... for a reward.

(This was some sort of GM event, right?)

So, after 1/2 hour of playing, I now had 8 less shark skins, and:
200pp
Al'Kabam's ring of true sight (magic,lore,nodrop) ac2,+10 on cold heat poison,see invis
& FOUR (yes 4) yellow bubs of XP filled at lvl 20!

Wow!!!!! Thanks Meldrath! I hope the plague you were creating works!

Did you kill the two level 26 Minotaur Guards too? How about his level 25 pet? Boy, you must've been pretty worn out after enduring Meldrath's double and triple 80hp punches. And how'd you manage to resist the Invoke Fear spell from a mob 9 levels above you?

I bet after Meldrath, you went and emptied Veeshan's Peak all by yourself, right?

He agroed me outside the tunnels today and I lived (at level 22 ranger) needless to say I was sowed and ran like crazy for AkAnon, hoped i didn't train any newbies. dang i love sow.
