How to easily kill
# Nov 26 2000 at 9:04 AM Rating: Default
I soloed this with my level 29 enchanter for great exp. All you have to do is pull a spiderling from newbie area and run it past the CC which will aggro on you, but NOT drawing guards or observers. After it gets a bit away from the guards/observers just kite it to death, you dont need sow or any slowdown spell, it moves at a incredibly slow pace.
He spawns near guards.........Doesn't he?

He spawns by a group of Midgets in steel doesn't he? heheheheehe at 30 my self I can kill him (Especially if he only hits for 56) but will the guards jump in when I attack him just out side the city? the only place I have ever seen him.
The Cargo clockwork quest
# Nov 15 2000 at 3:57 AM Rating: Default
From various EQ sites it appears the CC is part of a "newbie" quest. You're supposed to guard the clockwork all the way to the windmills, but I have never seen him get that far in my 15 months of playing my gnome, cause he teleports back to start when he gets just a little way on his route. I've reported this bug and the bug with the guard and NPC's spinning in the slope by the windmills, it's all got to do with bad pathing, but it seems it's of no importance to Verant to fix it.

He only goes to the windmills every few days. 1 trip. I too thought it might be a problem until I just camped him pretty much for days. Then one day he teleports and I don't see him so I start running towards the windmills and there he is. I don't know how many days it is since it isn't worth my time to camp him out again. I was just stubborn b4.
Spiderling
# Aug 16 2000 at 6:32 PM Rating: Decent
I don't know about that hail thing, but if you get a spiderling from the newbie area, you get close enough so the CC can see you, but far enough away so it doesn't sneak in unneeded damage. It then says something and comes after you. Since it is so slow, you run backwards to where the path is, and kill the spiderling so it doesn't interrupt casting. then kill the CC easily :)

Beware though, there is a bug. The CC may sometimes just teleport back to its starting area, and then his wizard buddy comes after and nukes you. Blue at 27, but he still hits hard. Just a word of caution.

I began fighting the CC today and killed it once the other 3 times it teleported away. When i went looking here came Zondo the CC's buddy. I ran so as not to ***** up my faction. I also reported the bug maybe it will get fixed soon.

There is a simple way to pull the CC (if yer a drood of course). Harmony Zondo and then hit the CC with yer weapon or fist. Even if the CC teleports back Zondo is still harmonied. Worked well fer me when I used to camp the metal spider.
Easy Kill!!
# Aug 15 2000 at 8:41 PM Rating: Decent
OK I will admit it is a cool looking thing but it is so easy to kill.

I am a lvl 47 druid and ya its easy for me but the thing is soo slow anyone with magic can kill it. all you have to do is hail the clockwork cargo and it will start crawling towards you. After that all you do is blast at it with magic and back up and blastit again reapeat it as many times as it takes and the thing is dead. The driver wont attack you though isn't that weird?

Yes, but Watchman Dreed will.
Strange Allegiances
# Jul 25 2000 at 11:35 PM Rating: Decent
Apparently even though this thing has a driver it also has a mind of its own. Way back when I was lvl 2, I was running to the guards from 2 Spiderlings and a Runaway Clockwork. Unfortunately I still had auto-attack on and as I got near the guards I turned around to see them die and happened to stab one. Big deal, right? Well the Cargo walked right up to me and BAM, 'Cargo Clockwork bites you for 56 damage. You have been slain by Cargo Clockwork.' This is probably why no faction loss when you kill it: even its gnome drivers can't control it wanting to help its fellow spiders!

uhhh dude. perhaps you should read the posts. he killed u because the clockwork hates seeing ppl fighting other spiders. its an olllld tactic for fighting the clockwork, pulling it with spiderling so gaurds dont aggro
Driver is a puny lil shi....

I was following a friend (lvl 30 druid) as he killed this. When the driver popped out, i conned him and he showed yellow to a lvl 11 paly. He didn't pierce for more then 3/attack against me either, then he dropped the weapon.

Harammer - Paladin of the 11th sun
Spawns ...Answered my own question.
# Jun 23 2000 at 9:26 AM Rating: Decent
So i decided to camp this thing:

Drops next to nothing for loot. Once it dropped a couple cp and fishing grubs! Must be reeeeaaally important fishing grubs they are transporting. :)

The thing spawns every 6 minutes after you kill it, but here's the trick. you can't attack it while it's just sitting there or you pull the caster right next to it. Evern with harmony they are just too close to get a clean pull.

I swing by here once a norrath day and the cargo is walking around. Apparently it leaves at around 8am. I Harmonied the two gnomes at the telescope, then harmonied the two entrance guards (really inportant you do them. I found that out the hard way bt having to zone)

Once everything is harmonied I simply wait for the clockwork to be as far from any NPC as possible. snare, DoT, DoT, nuke, nuke nuke.

You gain experience!

Oh yeah. The Gnome Driver was green to my level 32 and wa only Indiffrent to me.

Killing Him
# Jun 03 2000 at 6:17 PM Rating: Decent
I kill him all the time. No faction hit for him. Good XP even at 40th. He's a pair of good DoT's away, toss in a root for meditating peace. Easy.
Clockwork Driver

I've heard tale of a group that attacked and killed the cargo. His driver then popped out and told the PC's,"It's go time!" before jumping into melee.

Although the driver does not agro when the CC dies, he will indeed kill the spiderling you use to put the CC and he does actually say "It's go time!"

I know this because I had an abnormally long root stick to the spiderling and I didn't get a chance to kill him before the CC spawned. Root finally wore off in the middle of the CC fight and bot to me as the CC died. I didnt even see the spiderling and sat down to med the I saw the driver attack. Thought he was asfter me for a sec, but he was just killin the spiderling! LOL. Driver despawns after about 4 minutes.
