I could swear by my heart guards don't care bout giants and will sit tere wailing on an orc pawn when the Hg is wailing on you.
To answer the level dif group of lvl 30s=bad idea hehe they hit for 88-94dmg and monks make crap tanks but whatever you guys wanna do just remember that the level 36 and 37 ones will resist all your spells

In your opinions guys, when you think it would be the best time to attempt fighting these guys with me being a mage and my friend being a necro if we were equal level? have heard not until 30, what do u guys think?

I was in a group consisting of a 35 chanter, me (30 druid), 30 mage, and a 28 bard. Bard was afk at the time. Chanter tash'ed the giant (it was yellow to him) and ended up dying. Mage and I DD'ed the sucker like mad, sort of double-kiting it. By the time we were OOM, he was stunned and standing there so we could beat on him.

It was awesome.. I helped kill my first HG at level 30. :) Didn't have much on him; I got 24gp as my share of the loot, a spear, and toes.

the minimum lvl to group these guys are lvl 29, but one would need a full group at 29. if u were to group with only an necro, and u two were the same lvl, then id say both of u should be 34

you can go HG's at level 30 in a full group, but I wouldn't try soloing one until you get to level 39 when you have the pet to take the beating and the rain spell to dish out the damage

Steel
# Jul 18 2000 at 1:36 PM Rating: Default
These only drop steel torques. It's a cheap neck piece that sells to vendors for maybe 3 plat. They don't drop any nice loot items mostly just junk. the only things these are good for is plat drops. they are loaded with cash.
Toe Soup?
# Jul 17 2000 at 11:56 AM Rating: Decent
The Hill Giants in Rathe Mountains dropped toes each time we killed them. The toes are NOT no drop, so you can probably buy them off of someone for the Shovel quest. I don't know about cooking the toes, but I'll take Bixie Crunchies over any other snack food out there!

Hill Giants CAN be hard, some are rather easy, the ones in West Commons are No higher than 34, the ones in NK or WK (or wherever the hell else they are) go up to 37 or so, they hit for 96 or so max (OUCH) and bash for about 34 or so, very very mean, but very nice cash, and btw, how often is the Steel drop off of them?

Oh, and that picture above sucks, I have much better. My friend also has one of an hg fighting the druids in WC.

Hill Giants are imo one of the hardest mob's for their level. I couldn't sucessfully solo one until level 38, and it took me 10 minutes. At level 41 I can do it rather painlessly, even though it still can get close. they have ALOT of hitpoints.
hill gaint toes

I was running through Western Karanas on the Luclin server with a sow one day. I turned the corner of one of the large hills near bandit camps and I went right under the legs of one of these things! I had no clue why he hadn't attacked, and I hadn't realized that until I was clear across to Qeynos Hills. But I saw that hill giants may look male, but they have no gender. I guess that would help so the little people don't run between your legs and hack off something bad or burn you with a torch, am I right?
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 12 2000 at 9:57 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Me would dat dis big dumb fat Scottish Gina t who pooed his pantz is a GIANT WHOSE!!!!!! And dey drop as high as 60pp. Dont even waste time wit ginatz now worth it, dey have way to many hp and hit hard.

Loot correction
# Mar 01 2000 at 11:00 AM Rating: Excellent
They drop a variety of FS weapons, including rapiers, long swords, short swords, great staffs, 2h swords, and warhammers. I've seen loot as low as a few silver up to 45p and change, but usually it's 20-30p. They occasionally drop very low level gems, such as star rose quartz, bloodstones, and jasper. They also commonly drop hill giant toes, part of a mage quest, and less frequently you'll get a lambent stone for the bard quests.
HG loot
# Mar 01 2000 at 11:00 AM Rating: Decent
HGs can be a great source of money. Although they can drop as little as like 30 silver, they can be as high as 40 platinum. I've heard they load combine weapons, but have only seen FS. They also occasionally drop lambent stones for bard quests.

I am a master baker and have never heard of a Giant Toe recipie. Perhaps you are thinking of the Halfling Toe recipie????
Hill Giant Toes

The toes are also the main ingredient to a delicious culinary delight. You might want to research baking and try this great recipie if you keep getting these.
