To comment on the fact of a level 50 group holding it.. well that is possable for i have held it with them, but the problem is getting there, also there is going to be NO PULLING WHAT SO EVER (the things hit for around 100-130 max, so the problem is that while they can get there you need 2 groups MIN to get into the darn room... ENCHANTERS ARE A MUST!

Last night, we cleared to the room and held it for a couple of hours. Got very lucky as our tally was 3 efreetis (3 gebs) and 1 ph. Our casters were very very happy as all needed boots. Our group makeup..

Thanks to masterful pulling from our monk, we had zero deaths and only one close call. Make sure you have some competent stunners so your chanter can mez the imps. Takes a few tries, sometimes.

There is not question whether the boots are better than the ring :) But the ring isn't that bad either. 80 HP, 9 Agi. Even with the questionable value of Agi vs. AC, it's a great ring.

Posted: Mar 01 2000 at 11:00 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) they recently changed his drops the efreeti boots now drop as rare and the ring as common so whoopy more 18 hour guild camps commin up! =) btw this guy is so rare of a spawn I have logged on one day while my guild was camping it after logging he hadnt spawned (12hours play time) then reloged the next day at about noon thats 8 hours sleep and he still hadnt spawned and they hadnt left the camp! =(

They probobly got lost and were camping the Champion Room. Goes to show that idiots do play EQ. The Efreeti (or a placeholder, that being an Imp Protector or rarely a Lava Guardian) spawns every 24 minutes.

This is actually the one and only npc i can think of that has the most wanted drop as common.. =].. I bet theyll nerf it now that all guilds do raids for bout a week and get all their members a pair of boots..
I don't know. Why would you put efreeti armor as rare off of an efreeti? Seems like the efreeti should usually be wearing his darn boots, even if they are very good for casters. I just wish I could kill people for thier loot. People have a lot better stuff on them than one pair of boots. Besides, it takes 2 groups of 50s to break the spawn. Why not reward them with good boots at least?

I guess it depends on how good your group is :). Last time I did it with 6 people (all level 49 to 51), and the 2 times before that I did it with 5 people (all level 48 to 53). You need a GOOD Cleric and an Enchanter who knows the ropes (ME!).

Takes 2 full groups of 45+ to get to him, maybe 1 full group of 50s could do it..yeah full 50s probably could :) holding the room isnt tough 1 group of 45+ can hold it once you get there

Isn't it the other way around? The ring is common and the boots are rare? Not that I would know, it's just what I've heard
