Dragoon Dirk
Rusty HalberdI was running to the inn to look for pearls, this guy runs out of nowhere. I thought he was a PC, but then I see "Dragoon Zytl hits you for 68 dmg!"
After that, he feared me. Me being a lvl 20 monk, I tried to feign death. Failed twice, but luckily my dodge and block are mastered. His second fear was resisted, and my last attempt at feign death succeded. This jerk left me squirming with less than 100hp. After realizing I was dead *snicker* he ran off and slaughtered another poor soul. If you even see him, I suggest running VERY fast.

This dragoon, like all dragoons is very resistant to magic. He is the bane of light races hunting in the Commonlands, as he attacks very quickly and usually witout warning.
It has been speculated that the death of Kizdean Gix causes this Dragoon to appear..

100 HP's? Oh, poor you. I WAS a lvl 14 enc before this guy got to me. He feared me, then killed me with 5 hits. I only had 230 hps at 14.

He absolutely butchered my level 15 warrior- I thought the fellow was a Dark Elf warrior PC transiting through the zone, but learned differently when he hit me for massive damage and cast some spell to make me lose control of myself- it couldn't have taken him more than 30 seconds to dispatch me.... ouch.

Hi I was looking at comments on my songs (i am a bard) and someone said that they kited him at lvl 12. For some reason i doubt this because of the high magic resistance he is said to have, but it may be true. Bards can kite for 30 minutes strait cuz we don't need mana though it does get pretty boring...

There's no way a bard kited him at lvl 12, they can try to kite him, sure, but eventually he casts darkness to snare, and then you die ;p (yea, this post was a long time ago, but.....um......so?)

I wish I had read these posts before I ran into this guy. Kizdean appeared in the inn and killed our group's wizard (lvl 14) in two hits; a high-level warrior jumped in and killed Kizdean. A couple minutes later the Dragoon shows up and took me (Lvl 12 Paladin) out. Had I known, I would've vacated the inn.

I got my first of many Revenges of this guy last night. Myself a 27 warrior and a 28 druid were at the druid circle when he attacked. We were able to take him down fairly easy. Red to me Yellow to the Druid. Only dropped a couple copper and rusty weapon.

Hehe, youd think someone that high would drop at least bronze weapons, if not fine steel. The Verant is wierd at this stuff, they should do a patch (OH NO!!!) on this guy. Even Ambassador Dvinn has at least a bronze sword, this guy should drop fine steel!

I was sitting on the wizard spires killing snakes, and that Kizdean Gix guy starts beating me up, so I ran and someone killed him. So I went back to killing my snakes and 5 minutes later this Dragoon starts killing me! So I ran and ran, I think someone killed him I don't know, but I'm pretty sure killing the first guy made him spawn.

the person who said that he triggers the spawn of Gynok is a moron. Gynok has a set spawning cycle of every 16 mins. He has many place holders though. And he or his placeholder ALWAYS spawns right at the zone point.
And he drops the plat ring, rare drop is copper...ultra rare and rumored to drop gold ring as well.(this is not confirmed by me, the rest is)

I killed him with dmg shield and my mace at 29 combined with all of my mana in heals and creepign crud, still was pretty close. Uses a rusty halberd.

Zytl is actully a quest NPC... he is the only way to get the plat ring for paw of opolla, you kill him and run to befallen, and Gynok spawns a little later. just for you farmers to know :)

Hell ya, he resisted my root spell about 6 or 7 times in a row. Not one stuck to him. He coned WHITE to me! I think you would want to debuff his magic resistance if you want to hurt him with spells. He hit me in the mid 60s per hit. Needless to say I died.

As a 30th druid, he resisted me quite a bit, even though he was a medium blue to me. I think I'll be able to take him next level. BTW, it has been my experience that he will spawn soon after Gix is killed. Seems to happen whenever I kill Gix for fun.

His level is incorrect. He conned blue to my lvl 30 paladin so i would guess he is around 27-29. He does hit pretty hard but i still whupped his *** :)

It is NPCs like this guy that keep you leveling, that is for sure. It will be such sweet redemption to crush him and his buddy Gix when possible. Soon Zytl, soon, your time will come...

I mistook this guy for a PC. Got whacked. He was hitting me for 30-60 damage, but hitting fast... Missed quite a bit too. It was enough, though.

this gimp attacked me as i was killin druid, needless to say, i thumped him, didnt know he dropped the dragoon dirk, kinda cool. still it wasnt easy with less than half mana, and im a 34 necro. Peace

when i was lvl 10 a bunch of lvl 10 pc's where hangin arround the tolbooth camping wisps when he mosies over and attacked a munk licke five of us swarmed and killed him but we wernt grooped so that sux

Be very careful, this guy just runs around and you may confuse him for a PC... pity my lvl10 Pally did that too... got killed before i even realised what happened (hits for way above 100 dam)

Zytl cons dubious to me, so I am safe whenever he is nearby. I am guessing if you are an evil race like a Dark Elf, Troll, or Ogre (I'm an ogre) he will con the same to you. I built up faction with the FP guards so when people train Zytl to the tollbooth, I'm kind of torn since I don't want to lose faction with anyone. :)

The dreaded Dragoon Zytl, bane to many adventurers hunting in the West Commonlands. My only advice is to stay clear of him, if you are lucky enough to spot him before you get the LOADING... message. Also, has been speculated that the death of Kizdean Gix will cause Zytl to spawn.
