Dragoon Zytl

This dragoon, like all dragoons is very resistant to magic. He is the bane of light races hunting in the Commonlands, as he attacks very quickly and usually witout warning.
It has been speculated that the death of Kizdean Gix causes this Dragoon to appear..

Actually bellows hits quite frequently on even high red mobs, I've seen a level 13 bard do damge to a hill giant although the hill giant was preoccupied with another player and the bard was definitly not doing serious damage. I've also personally killed Dorn B'Dynn in N Ro as a level 13 bard using bellows even though that took like half an hour. This guy is probably a different story though since his HT would surely rain on any level 13's parade and I belive he casts other spells that would make it hard to 'kite' him as any class unless you can fear him.

Oh man I thin I have a magnetic attraction with all DE NPCs I think Zytl holds the record of killin me the most (around 7). The only problem with being a cleric is that im going to have hard time gettin revenge on this dude.

I soloed him twice last night. The key is have have all your buffs up including magic resist. Regen helps because he's gonna hit you a few times while trying to snare him. My nukes were resisted, but DOTs worked good. His pet is pretty weak; just nuke once or twice and he's dead. He dropped the Dirk once out of the two times I killed him.

I lost count of how many times this little crapper has killed me !!
The first few times I was dead before I even knew what was going on. He has attacked me through the walls at the Inn as well. I have learned how to change views very quickly when in the zone so I can see him before he hurts me too badly and I can run for zone. The last 4 times I have been able to zone with very little damage. Now I am a 29 and looking forward to finally taking this guy out !!!

It was my first time in the area. My friend told me to check out the merchant who sells nice shields. I was looking at some of the wares when, suddenly, I heard some sort of explosion from behind me and the next thing I know I'm dead. He killed me with one spell. One spell! So I finally get my body back and I'm not ten paces from the Inn when I read Draggon Zytl shouting, yep, from behind me again. He casts some sort of fear spell and pounds me to the ground FROM BEHIND. This guy killed me twice and I didn't even see him once. I can't wait to get to Level 35...

same thing happened to me. I was running my lvl 12 warrior from Halas to Freeport, made it all the way to w commons with no truble and met my lvl 20 druid friend to show me the rest of the way. We were inside the inn by the road and this guy came from out of no where, hittin' for 35 to 60 points damage. Loading, Pleas Wait, you have entered Everfrost. Damn! Got a revive and 30 seconds later, same thing. This time my druid friend bit the dust too. Dito dude, when i get to a high enough level, Zytl's goin' down.

When using sense the dead in west commonlands, Dragoon Zytl pet keep appearing as my target. When I cast ward undead I am attacked by an invisible pet, ward undead hurts it, but magic sword attacks won't work, and I couldn't see it at all. Has anyone else heard of this?

well, i have had a few run ins with zytl, heres what info i have
only recently have i seen him with a pet, and it was a skellie, tho not invisible, and it died when he died.

Khizdan was there as well as zytl. i figured i would go after zytl when done medding ( i have a grudge against him from my early teens ), but he must be phsycic for no sooner had i thought that than he jumped me. dumb dragoon, never learns.
So maybe killing Gix can trigger zytl, but he can definately spawn without it as well.

Killing Kizdean almost definitely spawns him, i'd bet all my gear on it. I've spent a lot of time hunting in the west commons, and had never until recently seen Zytl. The reason is that people usually leave Kizdean alone. He vastly undercons, so if you are low enough to get exp from Gix, he will ROAST you. Recently when I was in WC, a group of people was camping Gix, and Zytl kept spawning constantly. Btw, he did have a skellie pet. I am level 20, the pet conned green, Zytl red.

I recently killed this dude with my 34 pally, he was already hit on, but he attacks for good. He attacks with a rusty halberd, and carries dragoon dirk sometimes. His fear spell is his worst characteristic but if you got 2 or 3 30+, he should go down with minor injury. As for gix. he is a pushover now for me. He usually gets me down to 2/3 bubbles of health though, (HT deals 1 bubble right off the bat), and then i got him runnin in a few seconds, after i double him a few times for around 50. If you are looking for a dragoon dirk, The easiest dude to get it from is Dorn B'Dynn in Nro, he is the lowest lvl of all the dark elf buddies and he doesnt hit as hard as Dvinn or Zytl

He killed me at lvl 5....that sucked. But Wait!!! Theres more to it! On my way to get body, guess who killed me? Kizdean Gix! Oh, what fun! Had to get a friend who was lvl 39 to drag my body to entrance of Befallen, and then he had a gaurd, griffon, and Gix trailing him, so he had to zone.

When I was a lvl 20 wizard, while running through west commons from high keep, I turned to avoid a griffin. I ran into Kizdean Gix and got killed near zone. On my way to get my body I got killed again by, guess who, Dragoon Zytl. Both of these guys are going to feel my revenge very soon.

I was camping this dude(I THOUGHT HE WAS LEVEL 14:(
and he casts disease cloud, and I get this message'Your stomache feells sick' or something. He was hitting me for 20's so I ran. THIS GUY IS SLOW!!! He was only able to cast one more spell on me on my run to East Commons zone-line. I was in East Commons and had only one bubble of health gone. DISEASE CLOUD KILLED ME!! I was at 457/521 HP when I zoned. I don't know but does any one know the DD of this spell(like a necro or something). I lost only 1/6 of EXP bubble so it was OK. I would suggest finding a Shaman to cure you. If it helps, my SV-MAGIC is 40. FIND A SHAMAN. If you camp him, FIND A SHAMAN! If you have snare or root, you know how slow the thing runs when you snare or root something, HE RUNS SLOWER!!! If you are a shaman, you can make a business, Lol!!!! I'm making a shaman to help people with this problem(along with lining my pockets with plat,LOL!!) He is about level 30ish, but HE IS SLOW. I know I'm anoying, BUT HE IS!!! So if anyone knows the DD on this spell, I'm checking this site throughout the WHOLE thanksgiving week. Pleez any NECROS know(OR DRUIDS(just kidding) Heeheee) If you are going to help me find the DD, send an RE to this message, THANK YOU AND HAPPY HUNTING!!!

The spell Disease Cloud is a DoT, not a DD spell. It only does 60dmg over a minute, not a great spell really. It does however prevent you from healing naturally.
Magic resist will not stop this from effecting you, you need disease resist to block it.

I am a dark elf warrior, so one day with nothing better to do, I put on my set of Fine plate armor and shouted 'Dragoon Zytl headed to Toll booth!!!' And when everyone saw me running around they didn't bother to see if I was even an NPC they just ran. One lvl 10 tried to cast a spell on me when i was running past gix, and gix killed him.

I remember when I first met that nasty dragoon. I had just hit level thirty, feeling excited and as well as depress for entering my first hell level, I decided to gate to WC and run to FP to pick up supplies. When I pop in, all I see is Dragoon whatever the heck hits you, but your magical skin absorbs the blow. Auto targeted him, cast yonder. Stop, keepted hitting the BoF button until the cast started. Worked the first time. I yondered again, used the staff of temperate flux to figure his distance. Then it was nuke nuke nuke, yonder, nuke nuke nuke, yonder, nuke nuke ect ect. Then loot. Brought me down to no Mana, (Hehe. I even went toe to toe with this **** for abit), in the end.

Was kicking ghoul butt when all of a sudden I feel a kick to my butt. Turns out to be another player . . . wait, no, that can't be. MAN! He's a Dragoon! If I fight I may die, if I run I'm sure to die (as he'll hit me in the back for more damage and I'm too far from the zone). So I fought -- and I won -- barely. One third of a bub left. Of course that was when the ghoul came back (I hadn't finished him off before I was attacked). The ghoul got a few good shots in and lowered my nearly non-existent HPs even lower. I won, but I was limping. And as I tried to loot the ghoul, an Orc Pawn, of all things, attacked me (he died with one hit).

Me(lvl 29 druid) and my friend (30 druid) took him, but he took a punch...a very big punch...
Resists my snares often....he didnt charm or cancel magic eatheir of us, he did con yellow to a 30 tho..0_o
we still ended up killing him, ok XP i guess and ok loot..

This guy not only fears, but he also cancels magic.
I was running about the zone near the Kith Zone entrance when I met him, he hit me once, and I ran. Then he cancelled my sow, caught up with me and then taught me a stern lesson.
Always use camo when walking about WC.

This sneaky little punk sneaks up on me while i'm fighting a bear, i think it is a nother player killing a skeleton so i think nothing of it...until he starts to bash me. I could have made it to the zone if he had not have cancelled my sow and cast some nasty spell on me. I'm a 26 ranger and he conned yellow to me. Sneaky little jerk.

I was jumped by Kiz Gix... (Foolish boy) 40 short seconds later I looted his lifeless body. About 10-12 mins later, Zytl jumps me - and joined his foolish companion in death. One thing noone has said - he has HT. (About 180-200 I think)

That harm touch is mean. What I did was send my pet in first, he got harm touched, and then the rest of my group (2 druids) blasted him to death. No exp at level 30 tho, just went there for revenge. Killed Zytl too, he was in the middle of the lake in WC... like in water... weird little dude. He died fast.

but you have to have HIGH WIS (like me 171 to be exact heehehe :) cause he RESISTS LIKEA ****! He fully resisted like THREE of me nukes and not a SINGLE SNARE would take on his @$$. So i zoned came back with full mana and heres what i did- 1) ALL MY BUFFS UP! EVERYTHING YOU HAVE! From firefist to bramblecoat, USE EVRYTHING! 2) Get rdy and MEELE HIM!
YES MEELE HIM! Jus let him suicide on yer dmg sheild and make SURE ro keep yerself up to 3 bubs of hp or higher.

... I have seen him running counter-clockwise around the lake, on the east side. I swear he was running at me, though it could have been my imagination. Lightning-fast, I might add.
The most times he has killed me (of about 7 times) it's been near the west end of the Inn at the southern part of the lake. I have chased a puma around the inn and saw him standing idly at the west side of the inn; I believe this is where he spawns or camps for High Elves to run by. I have, while invisible, seen him run counter-clockwise a few times just south of the Inn. You are not safe inside the Inn by any means.

How true!! I was selling at the same inn when I was attacked by him. I ran out and tried to make a break for it but he took me down too quick. That death was the catalyst for my hunting inkie guards during from Lv 17 to 19. I'm 29 now and I'm ready to go back and seek revenge on this fodder.

Does anyone know the pathing on this guy? I've been killed by him twice along the northern border of the lake. The last time I saw him I illusioned dark elf to hunt around there and saw him going around to the south side of the lake. I'd love to know what path he takes around West Commons if anyone knows.

I had been hunting in this zone for a long time, never seen or herd of this guy. Suddenly he smashes me through the inn-wall and kills me. I run back to pick up my stuff, and he kills me again. If someone kills Kizdean...kill Dragoon after. Less trouble for the lowlevelguys. Now I got feign death so I don't care, but think of the consequences for the others in this zone.

This fellow is friendly to the Indigo Brotherhood (dark Elf Warrior's Guild). Apparently killing lots of Crushbone Orcs, among other things, is rather heinous to Zytl.
He runs faster than anything I've ever seen and seems to run around the lake looking to destroy harmless hunters he hates. He will go through the walls at the inn and slam you before you even know he's there (happened to me 3 times).
I noticed that when I hunt wildlife in the area, often the mob turns and uncharacteristically runs off in his direction. At this point the mob becomes non-experience-generating and appears to bring whatever is chasing it to Dragoon Zytl (or perhaps Gix) so he can pound them. Very annoying - I am wondering if he charms them or something.
This guy is spoiling the West Commonlands. Get rid of him!
