Brother Zephyl  

A few interesting facts:

Brother Zephyl was murderred by 2 groups of 55-62's on Xev last night (June 10th, around 8pm CET/2pm EST, 2003). (Major overkill).

Here's the interesting thing: The person who spotted Zeph reports that he DID have the Robe Graphics to begin with, but they disappeared after a short while. (Yes, apparently he pretty much saw him spawn). When we killed him he did NOT have the Robe Graphics, but the generic Monkey Chestwrap-look. He still DID drop the Robe of the Lost Circle, however.

That was my second Zeph-kill, and he's dropped the Robe once. I doubt that should be interpreted as a 50% chance, though. 8) Just goes to show that he does drop it, just not every time.

Grats to Yoan Sum of the Povar Tarew Alliance on Xev for his new Robe (Which he won't be wearing, 'coz we already got hime a Skyshrine Tunic...)

Just thought I'd post a little more info... He wont summon if your main tank/ main assist keeps the agro... the spawn time on placeholders is 7 minutes... and can be done with a decent group...
Killed twice a few nights back with main healer a 65 shammy with quiessence, 65 monk tanking 58 druid with backup heals 51 monk for added dps and a 55 druid for additional dots (most resisted)...
usually first dot is resisted, but found that they tend to stick after he is below 50 health...
Damage info... hits up to 380 and can quad... 2 fights average he dished out 25k damage to our monk, which was easily handled with the 65 shammy's quiessence and 58 druid mini CH... fight lasted about 4 minutes... maybe less...
And all i got for 2 fights was a lousy tshirt and a black headband... neither had robe graphic so I hope when he does have the graphic I'll get my robe...

I found myself a little spot where I can see Hasten, Maldyn, a drake, and Zephyl coming up the path. Without sow I was usually able to get a hit in in the PHs and take them down. When Zephyl finally spawned, it caught me off guard and he ran right by me. I did have him targeted and it was only a few mins. before he de-spawned. So I just went back to killinh PHs and bam there he was again. Spent about 5 hours doing this.

Okay, so if this guy simply doesn't drop it anymore/ takes so freaking long to camp...

What is the best way to get faction(Me being an Iksar Monk of 49 atm) And preferably a bit fast? I dont mind killing stuff- Ive tried getting FV faction before via keeping the gob fort in LOIO swept clean for about 2 hours but not a single con change...
Any idea on how long/what to kill best? And after that where to I start the human monk quests?

I've been camping in Rathe for him for going on four nights now. I've killed so many drakes and gnomes that I'm getting sick of it. That anybody would look you straight in the eye and ask you to pay $12.95 to sit and twiddle your thumbs waiting for something to spawn is just ridiculous. I had better luck getting Raster.

I would like to know:
1. Can he outrun SOW.
2. Can he summon.
If any knows for sure please help me out. Thanks ...

anyone else having problems getting Zephyl to spawn? I have tried about 7 nights now, killing the ph's, and still no spawn. Grr, I have the stuff, I want my robe darnit!

ok... get a different drop rate from every1 else.. is it 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 1/10, 1/20? i've heard all just curious now qhich it is and if it's faster to just camp raster..

Brother Zephyl does in fact drop the Robe of the Lost Circle, along with the Torn Training Tunic (that pansy tunic you get for turning in the note at the beginning), and some Black Training Sash (pansy, like 2AC or something, don't remember, destroyed it).
#1, they probably put that torn training tunic on him so you couldn't tell if he had the robe or not, because, from the screenshot of him, it looks like he was wearing the robe....so now you will always see him wearing that pansy tunic.
#2, since some of you are saying that he no longer drops the robe, and I have heard, from friends also, that they simply nerfed the drop rate. Hear 1/20 from one friend...

Anyways, lucky me got it on the first try.

So then we went to Oasis to take barge for another friend's epic, and I asked him "So we're taking the boat from Oasis, right?" He jokingly said, "No, we're camping the AC..." Not 2 seconds later, I come over a dune, and BAM, there is the AC.

Wait wait, I am even luckier...went to KC to start camping for the pipe for next robe, found Pawbuster group doing CR, and Pawbuster was up...BAM, another lucky hit...hehe. Guess my last name isn't Suerte for nothing.

i heard that if u kill this guy u get the robe? is this true.. im not sure if u have to kill this guy or the other brother in South Karana.. plz let me know.. ty

IMO ( In my opionon ) Verant did the Celestial Fist quests AND the Whisteling fist quests very well indeed. Iksar's have a bish of a time getting the cel fists, while humans will have a bish of a time getting the whistleing fists. The robe no longer drops off of Brother Z - So can't do it that way, either work on your faction or get some nice monk to turn in the items for you.

Now, the human monks have to raise their legion of cabilis - Then their going to spend a LONG *** time in FoB collecting Scorpion Pincers (Ever wondered why the SK guards don't roam the road, only that blasted trooper does) Thats for a reason, because there is a way to raise Cabilis faction by turning in 4 scorpion pincers to the Warlord in FoB - Raises a ton of faction. The goal here is to get to dubious with the Crusaders of Greenmist - Then the real fun begins. Either buy 1000 bone chips, or camp em in Kurns tower - The trooper on the right to the entrance of Cabilis ( provided you are facing the entrance of cabilis and not facing out towards the feild of bone) has a quest very much like that dorf in Kaladim. Turn in 4 bone chips, + all factions (except the necromancers, I'm not sure.) Well, + all the KEY factions. I.E. the Merchants, Monks, and such. The necromancers don't matter to much as their in a whole other zone (East Cab I think, or its West. Not to sure, whichever zone the Monks guild is in then the necromancers guild is NOT in that zone). After along *** time you will finally have the faction you need for the wisthling fist quests. I'm not to sure if you can complete the CT portion of the upgrade quest, unless you can complete it by sneak as a human monk. Rumors speculate that all Iksar Monks are 'Amiable' to CT anyway. Note: In order to start the shackle quest for a iksar just create a new iksar monk, turn in note for the shackle of dust, turn in the shackle of dust to the appriopriate person, relog to your human monk, and turn in the rest of your items. Easy as pie. kkthx for reading.

I spent a few hours with Kishada today tracking for him. "a drake" slightly edged out Hasten in spawn rates. In about 5 hours, Maldyn the Unkempt spawned 2x, rest of spawns were almost evenly split between the drake and Hasten.

Brother Z finally spawned when someone zoned in looking for Hasten. After about an hour of bringing everybody into the zone, the battle began!

There was only 1 death, the enchanter that was chain-casting on the lead tank. I'm not sure how many tanks ended up on him, but he went down in under 5 minutes. Since he is pretty much 100% MR, anyone that could heal kept the lead tank alive.

In the end, it was all for naught: Brother Z dropped no robe!
