Broon, Droon and Proon are in EK .. Froon and Choon are indeed in WK and are still on about 20 minute timer but the NPC named Oobnopterbevny Biddilets i believe is the name loves to kill them if she walks by. Still a fun little camp at 42 when I wan to kill time and get a bit of XP.

I have not seen froon or choon for quite some time. Have they been removed? They used to be on a 20 minute spawn once.

# Apr 13 2002 at 4:37 AM Rating: Decent
How can you tell the top portion of the rune from the middle portion , I now have two of the rune of one eye one from Froon and one from Choon and I want to finish my lambent boot quest but they are mixed up,(i know dumb)so when I go to hand them in to Walthin will he tell me if I am giving him right one or will I blow the quest if i guess wrong? Anyone? I had to buy the sapphires for 107 pp each although i battled for the lambent stone (the cheap one)and don't want to lose on this

I'm a 10th lvl Ranger and I was chasing a lion up a hill. As I neared the top of the hill, I spot Froon and Choon and they spot me. I knew instantly I was going to die. Since I had been wandering around the area in random directions, I had no idea where I was. I started running hoping to find a landmark before they finished me. No luck. Someone needs to put up warning signs for us beginners. LOL.
FRoon and Choon do not despawn!!!
# Jan 25 2002 at 4:50 AM Rating: Default
As it may seem these two cyclopses do not despawn! there is a Gnome necromancer by the name of Oobnopterbevny Biddilets that has a programmed path that runs into them -she is alot higher lv than them and fear kits em with no trouble at all. i should know this from camping the ogres and hitting Froon and Choon waiting for respawns. i have witnessed this necro more than 5 times doing this - and i get dark blue exp from the necro at lv 51 but is kinda a pain to take down- she fear, which always is resisted, and a nasty dot she gets on pet but i always resist it. If u want to camp these guys make sure the necro doesnt interfere either by killing em first or eradicating her.she will take both out and still have 95% health so make sure you magic resist is at least at 70 as was mine and always resisted fears and with high disease the dots didnt stick either- hope this info help clear up the myth of the depop

I was a 36 ranger with only 2 bub's of mana when I tracked a Froon and a Choon. Thought I would check it out since they sounded like Broon. Ran up on the corner of the hill and Froon aggro'd. Rooted, DoT'd and snared, easy. Froon went down. Would have been easier with Full mana, but I was doable. Also had no buffs up except sow.

Any bard around level 30 can charm kite these two with no prob and get nice exp.

Just spent 45 minutes soloing Froon with my 24 bard. Got 5 gold pieces and 7 silver and one blue exp for my time and trouble... no rune though :( posted FYI, no real reason though but to give some bards hope! ;)

I don't mean to doubt you. But I'm just not convinced that a 24 bard can solo this guy. Were you uber buffed + twinked? Or did you get the wrong cyclops?
RE: Froon
# May 12 2002 at 2:53 AM Rating: Decent
I don't doubt a lv 24 bard can take this guy. I have a lv 41 bard and I can solo red non-casters with her. But like he said, it takes me 45 minutes to do it so I tend not do take the time. It is easy to kite the mobs around and dot and bellow them to death...but at higher levels they resist a lot...but with time they die!!
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 30 2002 at 3:54 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i have a now 14 bard and while in NK, i have had him kill reds (he was 13 @ the time btw) w/ ease...took 15-20 min but i did it...example i kited around a scythe beetle in NK @ 13 (they're like level 19-20) and i killed it.
can a bard take him?

Froon? Choon? Hard?
# Jul 20 2001 at 7:44 PM Rating: Default
Uhm... couple lil things in this post.

First off, froon and choon can be VERY useful if you are camping the ogre camp as a druid. If you're in wolf form, they DONT AGGRO! So, if you ***** up a pull while camping the ogres, make sure you have wolf form on and run to froon and choon, they'll take any of the ogres =)

Secondly, i was just chased around by choon (didnt know that he aggroed on non-wolf form) so i decided to kite him. First 2 kites weren't too succesful, i ended up accidentally running em into the guards on accident (oops =p) Anyways, they're easy to kill if you know how to do it. Just snare and dot, then run back, med, get up, run back, med, etc. Re-snare when it runs out, and re-dot when it runs out. I got froon down to the point where he was running, i still had a full bub of mana left.... Then he despawned. *Doh*

You may think I'm a nut, but I decided to try and dual-kite these 2 guys. I wasn't able to get them to stay close enough together to AE for some reason though, and ended up having to root one and kite the other, then go back for choon.

Any other wizzies thinking of this, ya may want to reconsider (I quad blues easy, but two greens screwed me up)

Funny but none of these posts are from Bards who you might think would be the ones hunting them, how hard are they for 32 Bard to solo? And do all you others hunt them to twink out your Bards?

My 32 Bard solo'd Froon last night for the Rune of One Eye for the Lambent boot quest. As a 30th to 32nd level Bard, do not attempt to melee this guy! Put your drums up and leave them equipped, DoT him with Fufil's Curtailing Chant, start your Selo's and run, as the DoT is about to wear, turn around, check his range, DoT, then turn and Selo's again while you're running. He will resist about 40% of the time, sometimes 5 or 6 times in a row, but keep at it! Do not attempt to use Bruscoe's Boastful Bellow on him, if you are in range to bellow, he is in range to hit you, and he hits hard, fast, and stuns. I made the mistake of stopping to melee when he was at about 30% health and I was at full health, by the time I was able to recover and get my Selo's back up, he was still 30% health and I was at 1 bubble of health. I continued kiting with DoT and Selos until he finally was down far enough that he turned to flee, and then I meleed and bellowed him the rest of the way down.

My advice is, if you're unsure of your kiting skills, go to Everfrost and practice kiting Wooley Mammoths until you are confident of your timing and ability at kiting. I used Mistmoore Battle Drums to kite him, and it took me about twenty minutes to finish him off, if you aren't at least 30th level, you don't have the DoT song to do this yet, my advice would be to wait. Also, if you should accidentally aggro both Froon and Choon, I recommend making a beeline for the QH zone, then come back and try again.

Wandering Froon and Choon

Froon and Choon do not wander away from their spawn spot at the top of the hill. The only way they will be found around the zone is if they aggroed something and chased it. If they do they tend to wander around for a while until they eventually despawn, although I am not sure of the exact time that they do. They can see through all types of invis, and are somewhat magic resistant, so don't panic if your first root doesn't take, just keep trying until you either successfully cast it on them, zone, or die.

Both Froom and choon are on separate 6 minute timers and can be split easily. To split them stand facing north on the mountain, and there should be a cabin with a barb vendor to your right at the base of the hill. Then move up the hill until you touch the corner (you'll see what I mean when you get there). At that point Froon alone will aggro you and Choon will not. If you're a caster simply root, snare and start to nuke. They each have between 1800 and 2100 hp and any 37 casterz should be able to drop one without running oom, unless your int is below 150. Once Froon is dead you can safely invis and med at the top right at the point Froon aggroed you. Then when you are fm, start over with Froon. You should have barely enough time to get to fm when Froon will repop, so after you kill Choon I would suggest medding on the slope of the montain rather than at the top so you can rebuff if needed without having to get bashed trying to root him. any questions please post them at http://www.keepersofkithikor.com and make the subject line show my name in the post.
Froon seems tougher than Choon
# May 02 2001 at 8:49 PM Rating: Decent
As a 31st Druid I have been fighting Froon and Choon, with a ensare, then blasting with Combust. Froon seems to resist the Snare more than Choon. Typically I run out of mana before he starts to try to run. I then run for 5 of his steps, med til the mana meter rises and then repeat, until I have enough mana to blast again (it usually takes 2 or 3 of these medded blasts to finish him off).
HP, solo him and respawn time
# Oct 24 2000 at 11:04 AM Rating: Good
Ok, this guy has about 2000 HP. As a Lvl 36 druid I can solo him fairly easy. They almost never resist my spells. Just ensnare him, kite him and keep nuking. I need about 3 to 4 bubbles of mana, but thats ok, since he and his brother have a respawn time of 20 minutes. Just break the spawn apart and then keep killing 1 every 10 minutes, med and kill the other.

Don't try it... I stumbled across them and got waxed at level 42. Goes to prove my point, the higher in levels it gets, it's really the Warriors that get shafted... after all, there's no place to solo past level 20 unless you're almost suicidal.

Spawn point

Froon and Choon both spawn just to the south of the Ogre shrine. (sorry, don't have exact coords... get a ranger, druid,or bard to track them for ya)

Froon spawns in West Karana -1397, -8681 if you go soon you will see my 4 corpses (Komon L8 Wiz) Had the misfortune of running into his camp now can't get my corpse out. Choon spawns around the same area got killed by him -804 -8801. Look like easy pickings for a L38+ but even grizzs are red to me and going back to QH if I get this corpse out!
