Killed him
# Mar 15 2004 at 12:48 PM Rating: Decent
I was killing Choon and his friend Froon last night (3/14/04) on my druid at level 28. They conned yellow and were pretty easy to kite one at a time (I have yet to learn quad kiting or anything and didn't want to try 2 yellows). Easiest way, though it took around 10 minutes, was to snare, cast DoT, run around and med (in wolf form BTW), DD sometimes, and when he got low I'd go and wack him with my hammer. Killed them about 3 times each and hit level 29. They can proably be killed at a lower level but I'm not a twink, anyways good luck everyone on killing these guys although they don't have great loot. (This is my first post!) Bye :) Edit: LOL yeah this was my first post and no I didn't know how to post it and so didn't realize i posted it like 4 times. Please excuse the extras.

Was at ogre camp when I saw something *B-I-G* moving on top of hill near camp. Hill Giant was up at the time, so I thought that must have been what I saw. A little while later, I saw it wasn't quite big enough to be the HG, so went to investigate. It was this guy. He went down easy enough to 33 Ranger. Only took off about 40% of my hp. Snared him and smacked him down old skool while casting Ignite the entire time. His fire resist must not be any better than average and may even be a bit worse because he only resisted once and the spell always hit for max damage. So remember, Choon + fire based magic = dead cyclops. :)

Spawn location
# Dec 26 2003 at 8:08 AM Rating: Decent
He spawned in the mountain/hill passway between West Karana and Qeynos Hills. His place holders are 'a plains lion' and 'a werewolf' that I know of thus far. I only know this because I was camping for young paladins in that area
he aggroed me at level 12

Droon sighting
# May 20 2002 at 9:11 PM Rating: Default
I hunted Droon with a ranger today searching for a quest item. The ranger had him on track and we found him INSIDE of a mountain. We literally were standing where the track claimed he was. Weird. Filled out bug description, see if it changes.

Gone?

I have not seen froon or choon for quite some time. Have they been removed? They used to be on a 20 minute spawn once.
RE: Gone?
# Nov 03 2002 at 11:39 AM Rating: Good
The problem is that the necro NPC, Oobnopterbevny Biddilets wanders close to their spawn point, is KoS to them, and much more powerful. (Watched her kill Choon today just before I was able to pull it.) So the odds are is that she killed them as she wandered by.
Bad ASS Druid

I was able to almost take out choon at lvl 25 he had little health (Less than 1/5) but due to Magician and MAgician Pet interference and sidetrackation i was eventually slain. THANKS! PEACE !
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 15 2001 at 2:38 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I did it at 24 hehe
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 15 2001 at 1:44 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well don't say it cant be done....im a 24th druid and took down the redconned droon in EK. He spawns after little brother Broon get killed..I zoned in for a hour or 2 of camping Broon to find that someone had already killed him and big bro Droon was standing in his place. Conned and he was red....thought what the hell so i decided to try this one-eyed goon. Casted snare...and it stuck to my surprise...so i continued to kite him...double dotting him and nuking him until i was oom and HE was half dead....To make a long story short after about 20 minutes of snaring, running, medding and nuking he fell to his death. I looted and found this Rune of the One Eye...not sure which portion for i havent IDed it yet...rare drop perhaps? i dunno...maybe just a fluke.
Rune of One Eye

Choon
# Sep 10 2001 at 2:35 AM Rating: Default
I'm a 28th Druid and was able to drop this yellow con with the help of a Clarity. It took all of my mana and then some, so I had to sit and med once or twice. It was pretty much snare dot nuke repeat like any other kite. If he got close enough to hit me, it was usually in the 60's but got as high as 80 at one point. He likes to resist too so be careful.
just a question
# Jul 27 2001 at 1:14 PM Rating: Default
Can a level 30 Monk with a Sage's Battle Staff take this big mother? I want payback for killing my magician... You have no idea how long it took me, 2 bards and a necro to find my corpse in this **** zone...

Bard Kiting
# Jun 18 2001 at 1:55 PM Rating: Default
As a lev 25 bard I was able to solo these guys by bellow-kiting (yeah, it takes a few minutes.)

If you can get some kind shaman to SOW you so you don't need to twist Accelerando it speeds things up a Ton.
Wandering Froon and Choon

Froon and Choon do not wander away from their spawn spot at the top of the hill. The only way they will be found around the zone is if they aggroed something and chased it. If they do they tend to wander around for a while until they eventually despawn, although I am not sure of the exact time that they do. They can see through all types of invis, and are somewhat magic resistant, so don't panic if your first root doesn't take, just keep trying until you either successfully cast it on them, zone, or die.
Froon and Choon

Both Froom and choon are on separate 6 minute timers and can be split easily. To split them stand facing north on the mountain, and there should be a cabin with a barb vendor to your right at the base of the hill. Then move up the hill until you touch the corner (you'll see what I mean when you get there). At that point Froon alone will aggro you and Choon will not. If you're a caster simply root, snare and start to nuke. They each have between 1800 and 2100 hp and any 37 casterz should be able to drop one without running oom, unless your int is below 150. Once Froon is dead you can safely invis and med at the top right at the point Froon aggroed you. Then when you are fm, start over with Froon. You should have barely enough time to get to fm when Froon will repop, so after you kill Choon I would suggest medding on the slope of the montain rather than at the top so you can rebuff if needed without having to get bashed trying to root him. any questions please post them at http://www.keepersofkithikor.com and make the subject line show my name in the post.
Druid at 31
# May 02 2001 at 7:30 AM Rating: Default
I am a 31st druid, and hunt Choon and Froon. I snare, then run and blast. I usually run out of mana before they run, so I med for a sec, run some more and repeat til I can blast them a few more times. I hardly ever die :)
Choon vs. Lvl 17
# Apr 28 2001 at 10:29 PM Rating: Decent
Well I was on my way from Highold to Qeuynos, when i got lost on the way (never had been past HH!).

After stumbling across one of the roads i found myself at a shrine, after clicking on the tiny dots on my screen i found them to be ogres, and con'ing red. i followed the road past them (making a bit of a distance between us) till i found the dead end.

By then i was told by another kind soul to "Just go west!" so i used true north and headed west (jus turn left) past the shrine and was heading over a hill (with the shrine behind me) when i saw this big boy run out around a tree! He smacked me down for 60 damage.

I promtly screamed and ran off, west might i add. Luckily i had a SoW (from a lost druid) and kept running, /ooc'g and telling a friend of mine. The person helping me told me to head west, so i stopped and casted True North again, this time stunned by the one-eyed menace. So i ran in the direction i was facing, running through a field full of scarecrows and a few farmers (who didnt help)

Now, after running through the fields i came to a cliff with water, thinking all was lost, i ran along the side of the cliff, hoping that my SoW wouldnt run out.

Now as fate would have it, i came across a quiet little village, full of barbarian's!! so i quickly ran past one standing outside a hut, who atcked Choon like there was no tomorrow, i ran around the town a bit and aggro'd a few more onton choon before stopping.

He was now hitting me with 60's and the occasional 45 when my life metre was dropping so wuick it didnt even stop, so i used my LoH and proced into healing myself.

Finally the fishermen/women killed him and i let out a loud /ooc sigh! with about 1 fifth of a bubb of health left!

So the moral of the story is, if you arent over lvl 20 and running through get a SoW and a map (or a guide). Then again lvl 20'd should get a SoW as its a long walk........

moral of the story is to learn to use sense heading.

they put it in there for a reason =p

either that or learn to use /loc
choon and proon
# Mar 08 2001 at 9:49 AM Rating: Default
someone has told me that choon spawns after u kill broon in east karana, then droon,
then finally proon. Now i know hes wrong but he says that hes right.
RE: choon and proon
# Jul 31 2001 at 8:08 PM Rating: Default
Actually, Broon spawns in E karana, killing him spawns Droon, supposedly eventually Proon spawns, but I have never seen him :)
The cyclopse(s?) in W Karana are Choon and Froon
Could I solo either as a 33 ranger ?
# Mar 05 2001 at 10:56 AM Rating: Decent
I have a 33 rnager and am thinking of trying em. How much do they hit for and how fast ? Havent tried anything this big solo yet, except big mammoths in everfrost.
RE: Could I solo either as a 33 ranger ?
# Mar 09 2001 at 2:40 PM Rating: Default
Hit for around 60+ like regular cyclops but maybe with more hit points. Just kite a little to bring his HP down. If all else fails jus run - always work with SOW on )

Wimps to a 34 Wiz

-As a Wizard at lvl 34 I have dual kited these Cycs with Bonds(AE Snare) and Circle of Force(AE DD). I only wish thier spawn rate was faster:( then I would camp the buggers for some quick exp.
HP, solo him and respawn time
# Oct 24 2000 at 11:03 AM Rating: Decent
Ok, this guy has about 2000 HP. As a Lvl 36 druid I can solo him fairly easy. They almost never resist my spells. Just ensnare him, kite him and keep nuking. I need about 3 to 4 bubbles of mana, but thats ok, since he and his brother have a respawn time of 20 minutes. Just break the spawn apart and then keep killing 1 every 10 minutes, med and kill the other.
Accurate Stats
# Nov 26 2000 at 6:10 PM Rating: Default
He has 1725 hit points is level 30
I soloed both Froon and Choon easily with no resists(one at a time of course) as Level 33 Druid (178 wisdom) on Luclin
