Am trying to kill the Icy terrors right now. Just happen to be FD. They are fairly easy to solo at lvl 50 with good gear, virt and KEI. can invis past the first ice giants to the room just before Lady Vox's lair. The problem is when you get close to an Icy Tennacle they see through invis and agro. As soon as that happens they pull all the ice giants, ice giant preist etc from Lady vox's lair. I have managed to kill the first terror, but getting to the second seems to be damn near impossible. Good luck to anyone else atempting this quest.
These posts are kinda old. In the past 2 years it has now become to get a weapon which has high dmg vs delay....which was like almost unheard of in 2002. I am a 55 SK with some nice gear adding up to 230hp in heal procs and 36 points a tick in regen WO any buffs...So what I am really wondering is can I solo these? I can take out the ice giants outside all three WO stopping and still be at 90% hp and mana. But the ice giants outside hit for like 111 big deal...what do these guys hit for I do wonder.
Read the post below about not going down to the pits. He writes on clearing the king room and pulling the mobs in your way to the pit area. A group of high 40s and low 50s can pull it off, but be sure to have a cleric. All the mobs to the pits have a very long spawn time (more than a hour) so you have a ton of time to work your way to the Terror that is at the end of the hallway without the pit in it.
Let me say the truth about that pear.As a 54sk i go to perma with a 3 group 35 to 52. All goes easy till we try passing the king rooms which was hard. Then we drop in the trap to go get the icy terror(invis before dropping).Terror drop pear almost everytime n come 2 by 2 can see true invis.
Pear is lore n ITS NOT NO DROP. Carefull its eatable n icon look like dry food.
One group of level 50 players can clear ice giants and pull these. The pears dont seem to be rare. I have helped clear the area around vox with one group of level 50's many times. If you can do ice giants these arent any worse.
I still need the pear. I am level 55 now missing pear only heh. Oh well maybe at 60 I can solo em. For real, you think a group of my level could just walk in and kill one terror for a pear?
Once again! is the prickly pear no drop or not? someone has had to have killed these things before. And i am pretty certain that they are no drop. Just figures with Verant )
I believe that most of these creatures are Vox's Guardians. Imagine what it's like fighting a level 55 Ice Dragon, and suddenly having these bastards repop behind you. Not fun.

Had the unfortunate luck of falling down into Vox's Pit once, while invis. Wandered through desparately trying to find a way out of the deathtrap, passing deep red polar bears, and spiders, I came to a ledge with two of these nasties. Both red at 40, and they conveniently saw through my invis and blasted the heck out of me. The have a similar Force Shock (or whatever the blow back spell is called) as there Najena and Unrest relatives. Needless to say, I didnt last long. The ones that I saw, were two of them right beside each other, and not too far from a wandering spider. So be prepared for a possible three mob fight, if youre goin for the prickly pears.
I did that too, except I was 21 at the time. They see through hide as well as invis, although I think hide delayed them a bit: When I first came up to them, I thought they were just background. When I saw the tentacles moving around (harder to see on my crappy computer than most computers) I realized they were mobs and immediately conned them. I saw they conned red (no suprise to me) and were scowling ready to attack. I slowly started backing away from them, when finally they started nuking w/ knock-back for about 70-90. There was at least a good 2-3 second gap from between the time they first saw me and when they started attacking me, so I think that hide probably delays detection, even when it can't completely avoid it. Also, I freaked out and jumped off the nearby ledge, which plops you right in the middle of Vox's room. Unfortunately, Vox wasn't up so I couldn't get a screenshot of her, but I was honored to be killed by a Priest of Nagafen.
