I've fought seafuries since I was 38th level. I was also the highest level person in the group. They have no where near 5K HP -- any of them. At most they have 3K and I'd guess maybe a little less than that.
As for XP, I can gain a bubble of XP in 40th level hell in about 4 hours killing these guys. Maybe not powerleveling, but still a good rate and is pretty safe if you have someone that can pull safely.

Be Careful. Some Joker trained one of these to the boat as it docked. It proceeded to kill everyone on the boat(me included). Just so you know, your body will be dropped off into the deep, deeep, deeeeep water. Be warned.

If you get killed on the boat, your corpse may either fall to the bottom of the ocean right there (hope you got a loc) OR it will stay on the boat to the zone line, at which point it will drop off and into the water immediately below the path of the boat. Not knowing that, and thinking I would never see my corpse again, I had to petition a GM; two arrived, found the four corpses that had been petitioned for, and rezzed us (appropriate to level) at the dock.

I recently died on the boat minding my own business -killed by Seafury Cyclops...but after several attempts to locate my corspe. Petitioned the GM but they would not help me....after several hours, I finally had to give up--must have swan all over the Ocean. Even followed the boat until it zoned but no luck...very angry...almost wanted to quit playing for good.
I did not die but had a close call. I was on the boat going back to BB. One of these things agro'd and made a B-line toward the boat. He nearly caught up to us. Had it been a little closer to shore when it agro'd it very likely would have got to us. Scared the heck out of me :-)

OK, I am on baot minding my business while traveling from Freeport to BB. As the boat docks at sisters island, i get killed in three hits by a Seafury Cyclops who got on the boat. I think he was sitting in the water when the boat docked.
I died easily as I am only a level 23 enchanter.
I finally gey myself back to sisters island to find corpse and cannot. If you die on the boat, the boat drags your corpse to zone and drops it there.
I swam for an hour looking, If I had a Rod to locate corpse I could of found it I am sure.
GM finally answered my petition and placed it on the dock at sisters isle.
Note this, there was a named Seafury Cyclops sitting at the end of the dock in the water with only half life, he was indifferent to me though. Scary ... I went invis and stayed invis until on the boat again. I had binded myself to the dock for the corpse hunt.
Note: as the boat sailed by Cyclops Island, the island after sisters island, there were tow Seafury Cyclops there. One conned indifferent and the other conned ready to attack. The buccaners also conned ready to attack. There is stuff in OOT that will kill you while on the boats.
HINT: When you get on boat, camp right away, then sign back on in about 8-10 minutes, you will be just about at the other end and will have passed the Cyclops with ease. Not sure of time.. will have to time it again.
By the way, only took five hours to get my corpse back... Was a waisted Sunday...

You should just petition a GM as soon as it happens, because when you die on the boat you get dropped UNDER the world so there is no chance of you doing your own c.r.
In my case I forgot that I was KOS to Dwarves due to killing the ones in oot. When I got to the bb docks the nice lady dwarf on the end laid into me something fierce, I died on the boat. When the gm responded she said she found me under the world.

I got killed on the boat once too by one of these things... but it was traveling through the water on its way to BB. Great fun.. especially since I was about level 7 at the time.

You do know that you can buy a chipped bone staff in any city that has 3 charges of locate corpse for 6pp, nice item to keep in the bank just in case.

It's not so much that per kill they are horrible, in fact I estimate that kill per kill they give maybe slightly more. But with around 5000 hps, the fight alone is going to be such that you could probably plow 3-4 things around their level, and get much, much more xp on these guys.

Rarely the spawn as low as 38. Been hunting them a little lately and at 36 I have seen a couple that spawned yellow.

If you're lookin to grab some XP, these are not the guys to be baggin. They give absolutely CRAP XP for their level... much like their younger regular Cyclops cousins ;-)
