I've been camping Glutakan with my necro on and off for a while looking for the bones but none have dropped yet, just the pauldrens. Don't be misled by the pauldrons either, these have nice stats and are not the statless armor for the quest.

You can easily invis up to the top of the plateau with the apes. Nothing sees invis either on the way up or up at the top.

When you first get there, Look at all the flying holgersh and see if Glutakan is up already, you don't want to kill placeholders if he's up already, but you will have kill to get to him.

The Holgresh (all casters) tend to cast Mala which lasts 13 minutes or so, much longer than the tash you get from the caster efreeti down below.

All the holgresh and apes are place holders for Glutakan so what you really need to do is clear as many as you can and then each repop might be Glutakan.

I usually run up to the top and turn left. There's a path that runs along the cliff edge and it has a wandering mob on it which is pretty easy to kite along the path. Be careful of another wandering mob that comes out of the forest and onto the path. Once the 1st one is dead just start to pick off the other wandering mobs. Then go after the static ones while you have time. It's a 20-25 minute repop time and since I usually kite along the path but I have to watch out for the first repop back on the path.

The holgresh stop very often to cast and with my pet stunning them they don't move much at all so if you're in the path of a wanderer who has wandered off, be sure he does not wander back and add in.

A few of the apes seem to run faster than normal and when you snare them they run faster then normal as well.

Pathing up here is way better then with the efreeti. They run fairly straight and there is no gateing or other weird popping on top of you.

For my 80 necro all the apes and holgresh are light blue except Glutakan. Down in the lower regions at least some of the efreeti are dark blue.

Trio'd w/75 pal/clr/zrk. Died really fast. Most hits were 304, but 1-2 rounds of 1100-1500.

Timed roamers and single-pulled to the north side near the cliff. There was one roamer ape that I recall, I just timed pathing and pulled him over the hill to avoid Line of Sight.

Definitely soloable by many 75 toons. Dropped the pauldrons for the baby zerk :)

I have now been at this camp for 3 weeks looking for the bones. So far I have had him pop 7 times. Each time he droped the arms which my guildys came and took. People are starting to place orders with me for the next drop.

I do get about 3 aa's an hour doing this so I can't get that upset. What I do is kill the three bugs by the pond then start pulling apes, and flying rats. I get about 6-8 mobs before the repops. I have only seen him pop by the pond closer to the bugs on the far side.

Side note for the people soloing this. As a necro I do the camp solo. From time to time I get hit with mala. To get it off I just dispell all my buffs and rebuff. Faster mana regan the waiting for it to wear off.

Hope it drops soon.. starting to see flying rats and apes in my sleep

I did a lot of scouting in the area to find a quiet location to kite Glutakan.
I first tried the south most part of the high ground with is next to the ocean wall on the south side of the the little pond with the gazebo in the middle of it.

I pulled several times and had to fade each time because the mobs wouldnt follow me up to the plateau but would instead run off directly into the middle of the gorilla/holgresh spawn area and start a train.

I next moved to the semi-safe spot on the north side of the spawn area right next to the cliff but east of the walkway that leads up to that plateau. The problem here is you need to be careful to keep levitate on or else be careful to not fall off the cliff edge while kiting. I managed to kill about 12 mobs before Glutakan spawned.

There is also the problem of this camp being 10 feet away from one roamer spawn, and there is no safe place to afk or camp for another day at that spot. I had to invis and move to my elevated rim on the south side for afk's and camping for the night.

The gorrilla's or the holgresh can be the PH for this guy. One thing I did, since I was soloing and boxing my 71 mage, is to only pull roamers and not the static spawns. I thought it was more important to keep my area cleared from surprises from something roaming by and adding. As I broke that kite area, I did have two adds on the first kite. Since the holgresh stop to cast you have to be alert.

I resisted most every spell the mobs cast except mala and an occasional nuke. But I was happy to stand still and be in a dotting contest with them not chasing me.

Keep in mind that this is an indoor zone and you will need aa run speed 5+ to keep ahead of these mobs in a kite. Some of the holgresh will cast dispell, and that will mess you up if you are depending on druid Eagle or something to keep you faster than them.

I only had one kill so far of Glutakan and he dropped the range item that I passed to my patchwork mage.
Weird.

Also has the odd ability to drop Platinum Efreeti armor. In 6 kills, I received 5 Platinum Efreeti Pauldrons, 1 Cursed Efreeti Bones, 1 Platinum Efreeti Chestplate, and 1 Platinum Efreeti Vambraces

He spawns on top of the plateau near the underwater pyramid, where all the holgresh and gorillas are. Any of the holgresh and gorillas up there can be PH's for him.
