These guys don't seem to have a problem with my Erudite enchanter. They all con indif with no invis, alliance, etc. spells on. Even the ones that used to con yellow or blue. If I illusion to any other race tho they will kos.

These are so so so annoying, I just kill them for there food though and water, and sometimes they get there ruddy hands on gems, or bronze weapons. Do they acually say, "Can I pleasse have some copper?" I have never heard one, they usally jut say "Damn my eyes, your nothing but a mirage" and attack you.

-Jaliny

P.S. they also have rations

Ok, first off, I have never seen then drop food, although i have seen them drop up to 4 waters, gems, various unenchanted jewelry, bronze AND rusty weapons, Casters research items, raw-hide armor. As for that "may I please have some copper?" that isn't text that appears on the screen, it's a sound they make. You can also hear it on beggars.

Yes be very careful! One conned blue to me, so i attacked. Well he attacked back and i was dead 1min later. Did not know that he was a caster. He casted root and a flame spell that hit for 20-25 pts. Fast too! I was lev 15 at the time. Careful!
RE: They suck
# Mar 18 2001 at 9:48 PM Rating: Decent
Watch out for the casters. Best way to deal with them is to run straight towards them and melee. This will have the effect of interrupting their spells.

They cast low level wiz spells which can do a fair amount of DD.
Careful

as a level 17 ranger I was attacked by one of these things that conned green but gave exp. It was a caster and it took me down to less than a bubles of health (I think I started at 4 bubs anyway). I had earlier taked a few blue melee and that was hardly a scratch on me... watch out for the casters

heh.. good call. the melee ones suck, but the casters.. OUCH! if you get a 12 wizard, he'll burn ou down to nearly nil before you can kill him, this from a level 14 paladin with full health. don't attack them for xp, it's not worth it. :(
man, these guys suck

When i was hunting here with my lvl 19 warrior, some of these caster ones attacked me. I conned it and it was green so i tried to take it out and it blasted the **** out of me. I ended up killing it with only about 2 bubbles left.
dees dmm suck
# Jul 31 2000 at 9:29 AM Rating: Default
The desert madmen suck in comparason to the MM you find in NRO. The DMMs rarely use the high lvl spells, like the 90 pont lightning spell that their compatriots do in NRO. and in both cases the conned white to me. The ones in oasis used burst of flame and some ae cold based attack. while the the ones in NRO used lighning, combuts, and the ae lighning spell. and they chain cast like crazy, unlike the ones in Oasis. So be aware of these bad men in NRO.

They speak!
# Jul 09 2000 at 1:50 AM Rating: Decent
If you are high enough they don't agro on you. Follow him and after he stops he will say something. It sounded like "might I have some coffe".
All of them in S Ro will say this, at least the dozen or so I listened to.

Yes, some (maybe all do speak, if you are high enuf lvl). I noticed a madman looking character named Rin Dinstlemoor in East Freeport (near Ikthar's going to zone to West) would sometimes say "might I have some copper?" (I needed to turn the volume almost all the way up to hear him). Upon giving him a cp or 2, he says (in text) something like " Thank you ... no rat ear pie for me tonight." Haven't made or bought a pie for him to see what he says. I would be interested to know if it is part of a quest! That's my 2 cps on this matter!

Yes all bum/madman graphics have their default sound as "Might I have some coppers please?" and if you make the one rat ear pie he tells you about the Paw of Opolla or Opalla or whatever. Easier to just kill the ruddy beggar.

Knocked me down to 2 bubbles hp, i am a 19th Lvl Shaman in full banded. I just meleed him. The casters are tough. He dropped 4 water.

Their is three kinds: Druids, Monks, and Warrior type. Druid has spells whirling wind, ignite, and burst of flame. Along with thistle coat dmg/sheild. Monk has duel wield and tiger claw. Warrior has duel wield as well and bash.

# Mar 01 2000 at 11:00 AM Rating: Decent
Be careful if these guys /con blue to you. They con very low for their abilities especially for the spellcaster versions of these guys. They have a bunch of mana and will cast, I think, Druid spells and will heal. Quite Nasty.

Roswell, they say just as the people in the Qeynos sewers "Might I have some copper please?"
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 18 2000 at 11:24 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) All around fun Mobs. If you're really listening closely you'll hear him say "May I trouble you for a cup of coffee?" as he stands swaying nearby. He only says it once, and then gets his face beat in by a group.
