at level 18 he conned blue to me and im a druid. I waited till i had full manna and when i did i tried to snare him. DO NOT TRY TO SNARE HIM. i tried about 4 times and he resisted everyone. so i dotted him then kept casting ignite untill i was OOM. when i was OOM i meeled him. he had about 1/4 life left and he beet me too a sliver of life left.when i killed him i had about 40 hit points left. but i think if i didnt try to snare him it would have been easier. hope this helps

Ok. Iksar SK have to come over to Ro, and kill Dorn B'Dynn. We then have to kill the DE Spy, and widow mite that spawns afterwords. The widow mite supposedly drops the Charasis Tome, which is a quest item we need. Unfortunately, no one has solved the other half of the quest yet, but expect quite a few iksar trying to kill Dorn soon.

I have gotten the tome on The Rathe server, it seems Dorn that splits into DE spy and then the spider spawns about every fifth regular Dorn spawn or so... I have the tome and was wondering what it was for

This is for the Iksar monk quest, starts in cabilis. It's the same tome the iksar monks start with as newbies... hense human monks can do the iksar monk quest line as i'm told.

Was with group of lvl 14-16 killing everything around. Dorn was a blue con, but like D'vinn in CB, fought alot tougher than his level. But we won the fight without losing a person.
Then the dark elf spy popped up and starting booting us about the desert. After about 20 seconds of fighting, it was clear we were in real trouble. Everyone started shouting, "Run for zone", "ack! help me!", etc. Next thing I knew I was in middle of desert lost with 50 health points left. Everyone else was dead.
My question: What the heck was that and what does it take to kill him? Any good loot?

Killing Dorn also raises your faction with Steel Warriors.

Dont know what ppl are talking about....we had a full group of 12-14 lvl guys....me (12 lvl pal), a cleric, a necro, a rogue and a warrior.....we killed Dorn twice and the third time we would have taken himm down but he had 3 dervs helping him....we took down the dervs but Dorn killed us....and he was left with 1/5 of his hp....so i assume that he's not so diff to kill...if you are carefull....

At level 16 I grouped with a 19 necro and we droped him before the nec could get a second dot off. At 24 I easly solo him. (Mage) At 29 my fire pet makes dorn his *****.

It is possible to kill Dorn under 19, but...not for melees, unless perhaps
they are completely twinked out. Prolly

The problem with Dorn is that he is very under conned, double and triple hits for pretty high damage, and has pretty high magic resistance.
Druids can kite him - my druid was able to kite him at 18, whereas my pally at 22 was eaten alive. Kizdean Gix in WCommons is the same way....

Hey all, I am Buggwin a 16th season Druid on Tarew-Mar server. I was able to kite Dorn at my current LVL. The trick is, Sow yourself, and AC buff yourself. Also get a breeze cast on ya. Do not waste snares, They will not work! I cast swarm right off the bat, then ran. I was able to root him, but it last for only 4 secs, long enuf to med two more ignites worth of mana.(with breeze ;) ) Then I Blasted him with Ignites/swarm till he began to run then snare stuck and I beat him down with my FS Mace! BTW he conned yellow, so It can be done!

I grouped with a level 19 shamen with me at level 20 mage. Destroyed Dorn, he is weak. That is all did not drop anything.

ok when i was lvl 13 i went to the derv camps and i saw dorn at one and he conned red and he apparnetly attacked me on sight cause he caught me off guard coming over the hill. i died trying to get my corpse again and lost my lvl. i told myself when i get to higher lvls i would kill him like all the fire beatles in neriak so when i got to lvl 24 i camped him for about 6 hours killing him. it was a blast and i got my revenge. hes easy for a lvl 24 necro. it was sweat to watch him die again and again.

He attacked me in a former life (Wiz / 15), he hit HARD, I had *sow* tried to kite him, he ran FAST, since I had been surprised one more hit and I was starting to move VERY slowly ... with plenty of mana left I Shadow Step and find myself DEEP underwater, so I think I was pretty far away, start casting gate ... at mid cast time he hits me and interrupts gate ... so I cast Shadow Step / Fade .. Dorn B`Dinn hits YOU for 60 damage. LOADING, PLEASE WAIT ..

Dorn isn't too bad if you have a good party. His magic resistance is too high so we formed a party of 2 clerics and 4 tanks all 11-14th level. He hits for mid 30s, but if the healers are on their game, it's not a problem. Killed both BDynn and B'Dynn.

I am with most of the people on this subject in that being lvl 18 or lower even with two 15s or some such is not a group that can handle this guy. A younger group pulled the dervs there knowing I would try to take out Dorn. I pulled him off them and only my highest level dots would hit. Not enough damage could rack up and then the skellie dropped. And then he wasted me. Alot of the claims listed here are outlandish. This was the pre-RoK Dorn.

Dorn is a quest.Dorn B'Dynn is the placeholder of Dorn BDynn.I think thats obvious.But instead of letting such things as skeletons or something spawn in his place would make it too obvious. Kill BDynn and a Dark Elf Spy spawns with a pet.He walks around a while attacking people.He's a necromancer ofcourse and he didn't attack my Gnome Necromancer (my other char) he even rescued me from being killed some fire beetles (I was weak:) )Then he runs towards the Freeport zone and dissapears.But if you kill him a widow mite spawns.A really annoying spider which always runs.He has a pet and he's pretty easy to kill.I lost almost no health at lvl 25.The mite drops a book called something like: The Catacombs.It's written in Iksar.Perhaps this is a trigger to start a quest but I'm happy with this *cough* stupid *cough* book :)Just try it and learn Iksar and read it.P.S: the dark elf spy doesnt always spawn after killing BDynn.

I would like to say that in my opinion that people who say that they solo him or kill him in group with a couple of people under 12 are lying.I (a Druid) kite him easily at lvl 25.You can only solo him from 19.All these people who say they soloed him below 19 are propably lying.I was once in a group with 6 lvl 18 and when Dorn came he ripped us up! A group of 5 under 18 would NOT kill Dorn.This is my opinion.

My friend and I (lvl 23 monk and 22 pally) took him on w/ no trouble at all. Only seemed to attack me but only got me down to 2 bub of life left (didn't use mend either). He must have HIGH agility cuz' I literally only hit him about 1/50th of the time (luckily I hit fast. My friend only hit about 3 times (but for 150dmg). Any way, he's an under-con but not as hard as everyone says.

If the troll is right about the quesst NPC they are usually EXTREMLY hard to kill at their con I learned too well with a barbarian warrior and a low con quest NPC...

I am at lvl 21 and have been for a long time all the times I have seen him at 21 he has conned low to high blue so I do not see how all these people can kill him at lvl 14 grouped with two? He took me down to a half bar of xp...

OK. me and my necro friend killed dorn (we lvl 14). I kept kiting him (me bard) and he did boil blood. WE killed dorn but then a dark elf spy spawned and beat the living sh** out of us. I still gained exp overall, but it was frusturating.

Forgive my unbelief but those claiming to lay waste to the good Dorn below lvl. 19 are definitely in an "I'll believe it when I see it" category with me. I don't know enough about kiting higher level MOBs but I do know something as high level as Dorn is all but certain to resist a GREAT many spells cast on him by lower level PCs (he was resisting me left and right). As for those who say they meleed him at lvl., say, 17, you're just not telling the truth.

So, I went looking for him. No more than 5 minutes later, I was LoH-less, dying, and running like a monkey for the Oasis zone.

I have killed dorn at level 11 with a group of 5. We cleares the spawns. We had two tanks one cleric a wizard and a enchanter. It took a while but he died and we had are revenge.
