My Bard is level 12 now, and I find that taking care of one mummy is not a problem...even though I get hit with Disease. The problem I have is when his 'mate' blind-sides me and I watch and listen to the crunching of my bones as they take a swipe at me...sometimes for 24 damage, other times for 30! Just thank Tunare, that I can run fast and make it to the nearest Guard, or Zone...or I would be a dead duck! Well, sometimes I can run...but other times, I die...lol. ;)
well somtimes monsters pick up the items that the players drop. for instance you can have a bat and it will end up with three wings. I hope that answes yuor question
No, cancel magic will only get rid of generic magic spells. Disease and poision require different spells, which brilliantly are called "Cure disease" and "Cure poision". Only healing(wisdom classes, priest classes, call them what you will) can cast these spells.
a little advice for any newbies 7 or 8 and under,STAY AWAY FROM THESE THINGS!! if your fast enough, you can hightail it to a zone, cuz they are very slow(just like an undead creature, lol)
Someone casted SoW and Clarity in me and i spent all my day killing this mummies (yellow to me). How? I just kept running and turning back, casting firebolt, and then runnin again, cast firebolt... repeat.
Rabies are probably the biggest bummer known to a young character's career. I find that the mummies are great for experience and even greater to practice kiting with, but they always train me! One unlucky event will get you stuck with rabies and it's less than enjoyable. Unlike weak poison and some other low level spells, it seems like rabies takes forever and a day to fall off. Clerics could probably make a killing in Northern Ro just by offering their cure disease skill for a price. Seems like every time I used to hunt there every few moments a person was shouting for a cure for the same ailment that had plagued me for what seemed like ages. Clerics, you have officially found your gravy train.
It sounds like you may be judging by the text above the creatures head. That is just its name, and all of that text will be 'light blue'. To get the consider message red/yellow/white, etc., you need to consider it by targeting it and typing 'c', assuming you haven't remapped it.
Let me just say for the record that I am a mummy lover! I absolutely love to kill these bandaged bastards. They were the bane of my existence when I was first hunting in NRO to get some silks from the slightly larger spiders. I will kill these dudes everytime I see them from now till lvl 60.
If you eva get rabies there should be a druid or 2 lurking around in Nro...just shout for cure....if your on Vazelle then Zilch(my druid) will be there ta help ya...i do it mainly for free. but you can give me stuff if ya want =)
these mummies are really slow, and seem to be easy to hit, so just use spook the dead on them and if you get two on you fear them in opposite directions, They can hit for 30 and bash as well as give rabies but like the scarabs they are slow and miss a lot so paldins can melee them to death if they resist a bunch of spells in a row. I have leather armor and a tarnished shantok, so a twinked paladin could probably just go kill one with soulfire or something but it's nice to find something that cons yellow that is an easy kill. As a paladin i love fighting the undead anyway, and these guys are great after level nine. i figure once you have rabies, then all you need to do is heal yourself with minor healing and keep fighting them. i have never once asked for a cure disease. I would rather hunt them while i have rabies, and then when i go to the bank get cured....
I used to slain these when i was in level 9. now that i'm in level 10 (Necro), i slain more than before. but watch out, if one shriveled mummy attacks you by surprise, send your pet, and run to zone. if you know what you're doing, you're more likely to win. being a necro gives you more advantage since you're equipped with an extra weapon, your pet. practice your skills by killing one of these and watch that Exp gauge booming up!
To let everyone one know why they have healers is to save everyone else. My druid gets too many requests for heals. When going up against these mummys be or bring a necro and a druid, cleric, or shaman along great combo trust me!!!! The necro summons a pet and casts DOT an dd spells on the mummy and the druid does dd spells and heals the skelleten. SIMPLE
These things are tough if you don't have a healer with you. They give you disease REAL easy and it seems to last forever, ie don't expect many of your hp back very soon. When I get disease from these guys, i run back to Freeport and work on my trade skills for awhile or zone to EC and beg for a cure disease spell from a kind cleric
