Was a very good fight today (11 May 2010). Me, a 59 monk and my Tank Merc survived without buffs. Fight looked even between the pumas 100% and 40%, at 40% the puma started to take the lead. I used my Hundred Fists Discipline to catch up and my merc survived with 17% health left.
Love the Hundred Fists Discipline :D
Been waiting since late 40's to take on this cat solo and am pretty pleased with the result.
Dropped the Earring. Next is the Injured Mountain Snake. :)
He's harder then the actual pumas and gives around the same xp. Especially if your grping in the 40s, we had 49 bstie and 44 bard with clr merc, drove merc oom and killed the bard(me), dangerous pickings steer clear.
Anyone know What type of spawn this guy is on. been here for about 4 hrs got 2 lvl and killed Count less pumas. and clearing bears and snakes in the mean time
Killed pumas last night for about 2 hours with 69 BER. Only thing other than regular that poped was the a cunning puma. Am I hunting in the wrong area? I'm hunting on the bottom lvl. That shield will go awesome on my baby necro. Thanks for the help ahead of time!
I've just chant kited this on my 53 bard, took about 15 minutes. Even though I got 2% normal off, I wouldn't recommend it as an experience camp -- stick to the regular pumas, give nearly the same experience and take a fraction of the time.
I pulled him to the graveyard area and ran in an auto-circle. He dropped the earring for me.
Killed it 2x with a 53 necro, it's quite common and several can be up at once. It has TONS of HP for its level, took me about 80% of my mana bar to kill it at 53 fully focused with maxed INT. Dropped earring both times. It seems like it regens very quickly too, until I got multiple dots on it its HP wasn't even really dropping.
Took a little while for my Bst at 64 to kite this bugger, about 10 min. Got the earring. Not bad. My ice nuke took off about 500ish hp and dropped him 2%, so that means he has approx. 25k hp? Hits too hard on a leather class to head up fight, at least at 64 lol.
Myself, lvl 51 shammy and my buddy, lvl 52 ranger found this guy last night. I pulled with turgurs (which was mitigated) and was trying to get a dot off when he caught up to me and before I could peel him off a rude gesture, I was dead. Even with slow, he pretty much one rounded me and I had about 2450 hps. Hits up to 525 is what I saw.. So, be warned, this kitty is VERY healthy, lol...
Good luck...

p.s. didn't see any sign of summoning.. after I died, my ranger friend who had snared him (yes he is snarable), sprinted for the zone and did ok.. SO I assume he doesn't summon. So, kiting is definately a possibility..
I agree. He can only be partially slowed and quads for over 500 so it doesn't take long to kill you. My 60 shaman barely soloed him last night and it took a long time. I had to use my steadfast servant to keep myself alive and mainly had to aggro kite him using DOTs and DD spells to kill him as my pet was nipping at his heals. It was easier to kill him solo with my 57 druid as I could just kite him. I tried root rotting but root wears off him in 1-2 ticks every time and it is just a waste of mana. It still took most of my druids mana as he has a hell of a lot of hit points. I have also soloed him with my 57 necro who had the easiest time of the three toons mentioned. This mob does not summon. Best idea with this mob is to kite since he hits so hard.
