As a paladin who has bested many orcs in Crushbone, these guardians were not too happy to see me alive on their watch. During my trips to Lavastorm, I usually would hug the western wall all the way up to avoid any dark elf entanglements. On a couple of these trips I have been pursued by the stone and iron guardians while moving through the northwest corner of Nektulos near the entrance to Lavastorm. In my experiences, these guardians are slow and can be outrun even by the least agile of knights without the aid of magic speed.
easy kills

Okay it seems that i a 24th magacain must suck the big one here ?? These stone guardians are green to me and i tried to take one out with a 24th pet yellow even !!! Well I figure heck they not tough they greenie weenies smileing to my self I attack sending MY pet after i powered him up with burn out and shield of flames(who i refer to as kenny jr or timmy ). Anyway the fight started i move in so i could see how much damage my pet was takening about 33 points a pop the sg was doing to my pet. Old timmy was doing the same back more or less? well the fight went on for about 15secs when i look at the SG life man he had about 1/4th hp's gone and timmy was down to half feeling the battle might get nasty for him i nuke the SG with shock of spikes this i felt should help him old timmy win the day !! Boy was I wrong ! I through the spell and it resisted it. I a little shock but figured heya it does have mr and must have made it . So I thruogh another and it again it ressited not happy i ran not wanting to die with only 2 yelloew into 24th . Well needless to say i turned around and saw 3 other SG'S runnning at me running for my life ( no sow ) they creamed me in the end and timmy ???The whole time think okay these guys are tougher then they seem or i just suck . Also the frist Sg still lived . Well my adives is to make sure you have sow and a friend or 2 with you when you deside to take one on . Make sure one is a druid or shaman ?? And for me i will try again when i make 25th on takeing these guys out but until then i may or may not stay claer of these guy's ??

what freem said above is very true. your maliase line is one of your most important. it greatly reduces the mobs ac and other stats as well as dropping their magic resist considerably. it is always the first spell i kick off as it helps everyone in the group melee and caster alike. USE YOUR MALIASE LINE and you will find that mobs will drop alot more easily.

You'll find this is often the case with 'stone' or 'giant' enemies: they are frequently tougher than they look. The choice of pet is important, and you should probably lead with a malise, to reduce that MR. :)

Just a thought.

I am a Erudite SK, worshipping Cazic Thule, and am dubious to these guys. Does that mean I will be dubious to dread inner guard, or will I be KoS there? Wanna know before I head in :)

Thanks :)

I'm not really sure but be careful going in to the Necro/Sk guild. The guild people themselves will love you but the ghoul guards outside hate your guts and would like to see them spilled on the floor. I'm speaking from personal experience here as I play a Erudite Necro and Erudite SKs worship the same god.

I kill those guardian at the boarder of lavastorm zone, i also kill the other guard, so what i do to kill, im a druid, so i cast snare then nuke the guard with the ignite spell, with a sow its to easy.If the snare doesnt hold just recast, the 2nd cast will hold.On the stone i've loot a silver stud and some bs to.On the other guard i loot each time a bronze long sword and sometimes with page og grimoire or another kind of page.
How to kill em

These guys aren't that tough to kill for a level 16 mage. I alternate between the guard that spawns at the lavastorm zone, and 1 of those. With full mana and a yellow pet, I can take on 2 of these guys. I just walk out on the path, walk in a small cirlce, then walk back to the zone and see what follows. It works rather well for me, but I don't know about other classes. Enjoy. =)

Tough to fight/solo
# Apr 03 2000 at 2:49 PM Rating: Decent
These are a difficult creature to solo. Usually, about the time you are ready to finish one off, somebody will train a guard through the area. Gave up after six trains and only one kill.

I'm a lvl 16 druid, and I dont have much of a problem taking one of these down. If you pull to Lavastorm then you are pulling to a guard, make sure you kill him 1st, and remember he respawns in about 2 minutes. The guard is usaually blue to me, but once in awhile he's yellow. The guard drops a bronze sword every time.

try to solo these melee at 18 you should lose about one to two bubbles of hp, so a healer wouldnt hurt. just pull right next to zone if your by LS so guards dont aggro.

Very slow. Usually seen chasing a moss snake for hours around the zone.
