I see here that he's only level five and that he attacks any number of several mobs in the area. Does this mean that he has an average life span of only several seconds? Does he have placeholders? A known spawn cycle? I've been trying without success to track him for over an hour now. Rarer than the goblin alchemist or is he just dying so quickly that he'll never show in the track window?

One day, I'm hunting in MT and I spotted him. "Cool, my next viticm!', before I knew about the faction thing of course.:-(. So run to him with ym Rogue and start kicking his butt. He runs to the Halfing guards, then...Wham! I'm dead! Guess the guards like him. I learned my lesson lol. So now I leave him alone.

Gunrich is a moron. He attacked me for no reason at level 6 as my Halfling. If he's supposed to be an ally to the Halflings, why did he attack me?

Do you know where is he?, I think you didn't tell what the merchant said that the Dark River flows East[u]and I think that's the reason why he'd attack you

I was walking up that hill where the bats all hang out in, when I saw a fight break out on top of the hill. When I ran up to see who it was, I was surprised to see 2 goblin warriors battling Gunrich. Anyhow, after he took a beating from them he tried to run.. they chased him and finally killed him.

yeah, a freind of mine attacked him and I was yelling at him to stop. He did and of corse Gunrich didn't stop but a goblin warrior came and killed him with one hit and proceeded to attack us. Nice huh?

I am a halfling rogue, and I tried, as you said, to tell him dark rivers flow east. I got no response. when I hailed him, he said something about deeppocketsss. I asked him, and he attacked me. What did I do wrong?

This may not be the case, but I've found that many NPC's either won't speak to you unless your sneaking or they respond differently.
For example:
Some merchants in Freeport won't deal openly with a rogue, unless he's sneaking. Evidently it's bad bussiness.

Do you need good faction w/ rouges to do the quest? Im a Wood Elf scout and i'm indiffrent w/ them, but they will not let me do alot of their quests.

gunrich is a smuggler working for some rogue on the inside but the guards have been warned and you have been given the job to smuggle them in instead. if you see him just say 'Dark Rivers flow east.' and he gives you the juice and a thank you and give the box of illegal alcohol to the lady in fool's gold tavern who is also the lady that wants pale ale and she gives you this quest. i forget her name.

Hail him and he tells you to go away, and that you are not "Deeppocketsss" and if you talk to him he will kill you. If you mention the key word "Deeppocketsss", he attacks you. Killing him gives the following faction hits:
Coalition Of Tradefolk Illegal (-)
Merchants Of Rivervale (+)
Deeppockets (-)
and one other negative hit, can't remember what now, but it is a Rogue faction of some sort... i believe.

The story I keep hearing is that he is a halfling spy. I attacked him once and the guards immediately killed me. I have hailed him many times and recieved no reply. He never attacks unless provoked. Not that I've seen anyway. Once in awhile I see him on the fire beetle side of the wall. I saw him reply to another halfling while on that side but never on the goblin side.
And I hailed this goblin fellow, and did the usual what [ ] something or other. This goblin quickly turned on me and says something like I told you not to say anything to me. hehe.

Lol, your insane. I hate Gunrich but everyone knows that Gunrich is an ALLY to the Deeppockets. Sheesh, if you make a post make it either informative or for fun, but even so you should always make it CORRECT above all else.

First off, don't.
Second, look at your factions afterwards. This was my indication that he is bad to kill. I killed him once, and it didn't hurt my faction too much with the DeepPockets.
Third, kill him enough and people with charge out of the Fool's Gold Building in Rivervale to kill you. Saw it happened to a poor chap.

If you hail him and he says something like Go aways! please do, don't ask him anything more as he will then attack you. If you are a rogue though, it involves a quest.

This goblin who usually hangs around the "skeleton hill" is a good goblin. He is a spy for the halflings, so if you kill him you get lowered faction with them, and if you are running from him to the guards, you will be killed by them, and they do not attack him.
