I was hunting in mistmoore last night and have to say these things can pop anywhere from the jail to the tower and throughout the castle area, they cast nasty spells and almost always drop the fluid - the only thing is you need to have someone help you or be of suffecient lvl even to get to these guys because even the green cons will aggro and that could easily cause awful trains that you may not be able to handle. the best area in my opinion is in the jail area through the tower. hope that helps.

Well, I took a tour of MM with my rogue when he was 9th level. There was nobody hunting in the zone at the time, and all spawns were up. I took screenshots as I did the grand tour. I never peeked behind the doors in the jail, though, my sneak/hide dropped right after I took a screenshot in that room, temporarily suspending my tour. :o/

Anyway, if you use the EQ Atlas maps, Dark Offerers were in room numbers 9, 10, 11, 19, 22, one of the un-named rooms to the north of room 22, and the upstairs room at the far Southeast behind the door in the East wall.

Or, the "Piano" room (there were 2 in the piano room), "Ballroom," "Ambassador Room," "Library," the "Bedroom," room North of Bedroom, and the upstairs room at about loc -125 -100.

But the jail still sounds like the easiest place to get it. Some of the other rooms look a tad nasty.
Yes - pops in jail

Checking the dates on these posts makes me wonder if this is pointless, but......

The Dark Offerer does INDEED pop in the Jail. We killed 2 last evening - 26 pally, 32 chanter, 35 pally and 37 druid. This was two complete spawn cycles - less than half hour total.

Dropped Caustic fluid both times. Keep your resists up.

HAve been scouting around for the dark offerer..one was in the jail..was even to me at 31. Didnt want to chance trying to solo it with the other 2 mobs in the other cells...if i open the door and go in the cell with the offerer..and the door shuts, can the other ones get in there somehow with us? Or will we be alone in our battle to the death? That would be nice if i could get it to spawn in the cell and lock us in there together for a thunder dome style battle to the death. Even if I got killed corpse recovery wouldnt be so bad sine none of the ones in there so far can see thru invis...just open door, pull out corpse and take it back down the secret hallway and loot in private right? (see bad thining, already thinking of getting killed :P)

39 Level Druid here.

I have found that you can "Thunder Dome" the dark offerers or deathly ushers or whatever is in the cell one at a time without the others agroing at you.

I camoed myself, snuck into the jail through the back way and was disappointed not to see a dark offerer hanging out in the jail. Having gate memmed, I decided to test my luck with one of the deathly ushers to see if a solo in the cell was possible. It was. I barely took down a deathly usher through nuking and taking the punches (the usher did not run out of the cell at low health), though I bet I could turn the tides more to my side with Spikecoat. I get Xp from the deathly ushers.

I have a feeling my strategy is going to be binding myself just outside the MM zone, camo-sneak into jail, clear the jail one by one. I may try medding after I recamo myself in the emptied cell rather than gating out each time. But it is -possible- that I can solo this and get my caustic fluid. Close, but possible.

I have found that if you are very low on HP soemtimes the MOB you are fighting will stay and try to kill you. Never count on a runner when you are under one buble yourself.

I went after the Dark Offerer last night with a friend of mine 51 SK. We went into the graveyard and behind the crypt to the false wall. Went up into the jail and the SK cleared it. No Offerer. We kept going up the stairs pulling mobs down the stairs. On the second spawn in the jail the offerer popped in one of the cells and dropped the Caustic Fluid. The spawn may be random, but IMO this is the best place to get the item if you can hold the room. I'm a 34 Druid now and got experience being grouped with a 51 SK. For the record, there are 3 cells and mobs pop within. You have to open the fourth door and the other three open with it. Watch out for casters though...they're vicious. Had to Evac with my buddy once.
All in all I had a great time. We were there for over an hour total and spent a good amount of time just having fun and poking around. I plan on staying here for a while to camp some of the other good loot.

The Dark Offerer does spawn in the castle. I have seen posts saying that one has been in the Jail. Although 2 days of camping and I have yet to see one. I have seen the Dark Offerer in the castle above the grand ball room and to the left in a small room. I was not able to even hit the thing let alone kill it and loot it solo (due to 2 other aggros Garg and Herald). They are blue to me at 35th level (Druid) If you are going for Thick Caustic Fluid loot in the castle you may want to consider invising yourself and two strong 30s tanks and inserting, killing and then retreating invisible. Otherwise you will have to fight your way through the court yard, past the entrance and bridge, into the ballroom and then up the stairs (which is by no means done by inexperienced people). This is the last element for me to get my clickable root necklace. I have a feeling its going to be worth it. (Imagines himself chain rooting something to death using no mana) Although the dmg component to the root is only 10 it can be a life saver if its not resisted.

I assume since the bestiary also lists a Dark Offer pet they are either necro or Sk.
I got one and finished the quest

These spawn only in the castle. They are actually level 34ish, so I think this page is wrong. You have to be careful because there are mobs in there that see invis. I know that the Princess does and I suspect that the will sappers do as well. Thick Caustic Fluid is no drop, can't remember if it's lore or not and you do'nt need any brewing skill to make the divination potion thingie. I used my 53 necro to clear a path and finally found one. When I did, I pulled it as far from the area where most of the stuff pops as I could so my poor 25 druid could loot it without dying (and he died later anyway).

Good luck to all doing the Warden quest, it's worth it IMHO

where??

Do these spawm most anywhere or just up near the ballroom?

With my 31 Druid I can handle most of the green yard trash but my main Rogue has seen first hand how bad the ballroom can get. Now way a 31 Druid would live long enough to loot one.

Anyone have knowledge of Thick Caustic liquid that was lore nodop on the dark offerer?

# Apr 13 2001 at 12:58 PM Rating: Default
It's for a quest for a neck item that is started in Felwithe at the cleric's guild. The item can be worn by druids or clerics, and it all starts by getting the Initiate Symbol of Tunare from <Someone> Bronzeleaf in the cleric's guild. I believe he's the head cleric trainer.
Good luck on the quest :)

The person who originates this quest is YEOLARN Bronzeleaf, and he IS the head of the cleric guild in Felwithe...
