Mist wolf in Lesser Faydark
# May 19 2009 at 1:13 PM Rating: Decent
I've seen one in Lesser Faydark. It seems to follow the same path as the psycho Equestrielle the Corrupted SK horse. It is likely a place holder for the horse. Considering that I'd rather not have the horse around, I left it alone. I didn't see both the horse and the mist wolf at the same time, so I think I am correct. So if you want to occupy LFay without fear of the horse, leave the wolf alone if its there.

Mist Wolves and the Quillmane cycle

There are of course many mist wolves roaming around South Karana and you end up killing a lot of them on the 78-second Quillmane cycle. One thing I've noticed is that there is one spawn location for the mist wolf that is a decent indicator that you're on Quilllmane's cycle ... I think, as nothing about Quillmane is for certain except the 78 seconds. Anyway, there is a mist wolf spawn right next to the southern spire. As soon as the wolf turns to walk south, the gnolls kill him. Everytime I've seen this happen is during the Q cycle. At first I thought it would interfere with the cycle, but when the wolf died ("you have lost your target" message on tracking), I just reset my counter and 78 seconds later, another spawn in the chain that eventually led to popping Quillmane.

I don't know if that helps anyone without tracking, as the spawns continue all over the southern half of the zone, but it's something.
Never would kill one

I would only charm one. They are beautiful and exotic to me, plus it is cool how they walk on air. I would charm it and make it my pet. I love them ^_^

My woodelf Ranger sees them in Lesser Fay all of the time - never had the heart to kill one because it was so beautiful, sounded exotic and conned amiable to me - do they make good pets?
Mist wolf pelts

A mist wolf pelt is a pretty thing, but I know of only one use for it other than selling it to a vendor: a potter can use it to make a lined poison vial (useful to rogues and enchanters).
Mist wolves in WK

When I went exploring WK a long time ago I found a mist wolf on my way back to Qeynos Hills. I was lv.5 and is conned green for me so I killed it and got a mist wolf pelt. I can't help but wonder if those can be used for something. BTW, the fact that they move around without walking kinda makes them creepy to me. BTW again, it was raining when I found it.

You need two Mist Wolf Pelts for the Warrior Newbie Armor Quest Gauntlets of the Battlemaster.
