For those of you who don't want to read all the posts below, to find this croc go to Lavastorm mountains, location +1200 -650 (upper NE corner of the zone). Pops about every 15-30min.
Does not make for good solo xp, specially as a wizard... they have good magic res. I ended up having to root four times with instill before I killed him. Level 34 frost shock still got resisted twice.

Killed him tonight with my lvl 25 mage and his lvl 24 earth pet. He does hit hard--as high as 61 HP. He almost got me-my pet and i had about 1 bubble of health each. He dropped meat and the rune of scale. He conned red.
My level 19 SK mate and I saw this one and decided to give it a try. We were both fully buffed and full mana. We sent in our pets and both blasted it a few times and did not see any damage to it - it hit the SK for 60 points damage twice - we did the smart thing and ran for it. It followed us all the way to Najena, hit me once for 26 damage just outside of Najena and then we zoned to Najena. OUCH!
Me and my Cleric friend (battle cleric) got this at 24. He conned red to us both. Not knowing if we could do it, we found the best path to Temple. We planted outselves about two thirds away, and buffed up. He went and pulled it back to me. He fought and I hit with Garrison Mighty mana (very effective agaisnt it seemed). When My friend was chewed up, I moved in and pulled aggro and the croc chewed through my Leatherskin spell and then HP. I still kept hitting with MM. My friend healed hismelf twice, then me. By then, the croc started to run. We chased down and killed.
Had to do this twice since the first time no rune drop. But it is possible to do ar 24, untwinked. Just takes planning, courage adn a godo cleric friend.
now just need the lizardscale cloak. That will take some planning once I reach 28.
I only recommend a spellcaster to be willing to take damage ONLY if your offense and defense have been built up. It makes a world of difference. A high Defense and Dodge means less hits, and less interruptions. Means faster take down of the monsters.

I got him last night, was easy to me and all I did was fear kite him. Root,panic animal, dd. Dropped scale first time thanks.
this critter moves fast & root spells dont always
stick too long. Has some magic resistance too as
149 hp spells often only his for 1/2. Suggestion
if roots dont stick run fast dont be overladen like me. so far score 2 all lvl 30 shammy

He spawns at approx 1200, neg650. He was white to me (lvl 29 wizard), very easy kill, just root then nuke with cold spells. Dropped rune of scale the second time

Why does everyone say their lag is 50-100 times larger in this zone? I get LESS lag in this zone, and on my computer, that is a blessing. I am running a 300Mhz or a 333Mhz(can't remember specifically) with 56megs of RD-Ram and have a Cable Modem. The zone I hate, Neriak-Foreign Quarters. Those stupid, flying, glow-in-the-dark things lag me bad!
With my 25 Druid i've been killing him for xp. Not bad, like 2 blues or so per kill. The catch...
Check your Lag in Lavastorm sometime. Not only will it be 50-100 higher then normal, but the zone geometry and pathing is weird, MoBs going through instead of around small hills and such.
I'd say for every 4 times i kill him (he's red to me, with about 1/4 of the time popping only yellow) I die once. Mostly if i make the mistake of playing anywhere near peak load time.
He DOES double hit for 50-60 at times and this is the 'bite' to that problem. He hits fast too. So when the lag kicks in... well he only needs a round or two to dice you up good. If it (bad lag)hits you twice in one battle, your dead. Accept it.
Also keep an eye on the zone. If someone messes with the whole celestial fist deal, FORGET KITING HIM. The zone lag will DEFINETLY get to the point that your spells will goof enough that he'll have an easy win.
My advice is this is poor xp to solo unless your like me and wanted a change of scenery. After leveling my last two characters to the 30's in LOIO and OT (with occasional stops in FM or the Karanas), Lava was a nice break.
The good news? If lag isn't bad he's a push over. DoT, Snare, DD as avalible, rince, repeat, while running the north wall back and forth. He does run at about 10%-15%H so thats all you really have to get him too, though he does monitor your health so make sure YOUR over 20%H or he won't run.
Maybe if i get a chance i'll post his spawn time if that helps.

you have to be joking me, someone pulled him to the zone un announced and need less to say I died. but on the way to try to prevent my inevetable death I was hit for 61, 81, 81, 81.... I have never been killed so easily except for a guard!

This mob is found between the druid ring and the Nagena entrance. If you are comeing from Nektolos forest just follow the wall to your right and you will see it, unless it has been killed already by another player. It's spawn rate is bout 15-30 min so won't be too long before it respawns hope this helps
I'm hunting in LS now with my druid, and he's located in the NE corner not too far from Sol Temple entrance. Loc is near p1200, n800, hope this helps :)

I was messing around in Lava, and ran across this guy. He conned blue to me at lvl 29, so I figured why not. I wasted this guy and healed up while I waited on him to spawn again. He spawned again after about 15 mins and conned yellow this time. I wasted this guy too. Great xp and he misses a lot when he trys to hit.

I just found this guy recently and as a lvl 25 druid he conned yellow. I underestimated him the first time and tore me apart when my snare wore off. He could almost keep up with my sow. Came back later and killed him, nice exp. Killed him again soon after and he droped the rune of scale.

The croc is harder level than it lists. I was a 19th warrior trying to be power levelled by a 30 cleric and it conned yellow to her. We tried to take it (stupid of us) and got it to about 1/2 health before she ran out of heals and we had to bail out. i used an invulnerability potion luckily and was saved. (hehe)

I saw it hitting for 61 pts last night. Of course, it was tearing into the flesh of level 13 enchanters, so that may have explained why it was hitting for so much....

YEP!!!, a stupid groupie of mine decided to pull one, we were all lvl 12-15, to say the least we all died, he bit me for an astonishing 63!!!!! I am a troll shaman, we also had an ogre SK, a DE wizard, and a halfling druid, we had another but i dont recall race or class.

Of Course it isnt a lvl thing. Its an AC Thing. As a Necro you have low AC And Hps compared to a Melee class. The Higher your AC the lower the chance that a MOB will hit for full damage. Sad But True.
