For Plane of Hate he spawns in Innoruuks room with about 12 bats. I did not let him live long enough to know if he wanders out of the room or not. He drops both the fang and the cape as well. His bat minions drop Halloween candies.
Ouch

This task sends you to different zones based on your current level.

I don't know the level cut-offs, but the zones the Bloody Vampire spawns in seem to be:

Plane of Hate

Umbral Planes

Castle Mistmoore

Maiden's Eye

Tenebrous Mountains

Bloody Vampire just spawned for me on the balcony of the coterie house. Dropped both quest items.
Tenebrous Mountains
# Oct 31 2009 at 3:28 AM Rating: Decent

Confirmed kill on Halloween, October 31, 2009 at the Coterie Castle. In fact, I no sooner dispatched the guard at the door when the Bloody Vampire appeared inside on the ground floor and aggroed on me.

Please note if working this quest: A task update is needed by searching for the Bloody Vampire in Plane of Hate, so while he does indeed spawn elsewhere on Luclin, it may be to your advantage to hunt him in Hate.

Also, the mob seems to scale proportionally to the zone; I killed him in both Plane of Hate and Tenebrous Mountains, and he and his adds are considerably more powerful in hate.

For level 85 wizard, the Tenebrous Mountains kill was very easy; I required a cleric for Plane of Hate because the adds hit so frequently. They stun frequently and their rapid attacks can distract even quick casting.

The named was a green con at 85, and about 4 nukes to take him down. A dedicated tank will probably knock everything out.

I was up on the balcony of the Coterie Castle today, powering a baby SK, and had seen the flashes and flickers of this vamp and his bats. Almost looked like they were all spawning under the world and doing a little z-axis warping back and forth to the balcony. Very strange, but aside from the visual display I never did agro any of it so I just started to ignore it all.

Then once, just once ... the mess all spawned clearly up on the balcony and immediately erased the baby SK hahahaha ... it was priceless to see the swarm envelop the poor little shadowknight :)

Seems to me this mob shouldn't be spawning anymore if it was for a Halloween event 2 years ago!

Vampire seems to be on a 22 minute respawn timer. Spawns beside the steps of the building that contains Maestro of Rancor.

After the Bloody Vampire spawns he paths up the steps, down the hallway and into the large circular room that contains the Maestro. This is an ideal spot to wait for him as the guards outside do not see invis, and do not aggro if you fight within that room. Maestro is in a side room and will not add. Mob does not summon, so may be kited easily.

Vampire initially casts various Necromancer spells including root, dots and nukes. I didn't go toe to toe with him so was hit only a few times - max hit was in the low 400's. The additional bats hit for 900's (didn't seem to be the ten mentioned earlier, but they do stack ontop of each other so difficult to tell. I would estimate four).

Easy bard kite. Just twist in psalm of Veeshan until he stops casting, then twist all DoTs. His path through Hate takes no more than 15 mins or so to return him to this room, so no reason to hunt him elsewhere.
Soloed.

Soloed him as a ranger here, the PoHate version. This guide is designed for rangers only. I'm sure another class can probably solo it (I'm thinking a very smart druid), but the way I did it was using the tools given to rangers.

---
NOTE - It's fairly simple once you understand what to do, so I'll try to explain it here as detailed and best as I can. Some info: Does not summon, has 10 bat "guards" who also don't summon, all snareable/rootable, low MR (0 MR check ensnare stuck on first try on each bat and named), bats straight melee, vampire is an SK or Necro, I didn't pay attention to that. Bats hit for around 400 or so, vampire hits I believe in the K's. Main strategy is DON'T GET HIT.
---

First, you need to head to the area where Innoruuk is at, which is the very south center of the zone. There is a pathway leading up to a hallway where to your soft right you'll see two guards by a door. Go into that room. It's the largest, most accessible room with guaranteed no roamers (except the bloody vamp himself) in the zone.

Clear the 4 mobs in that room. They don't summon and hit for 400's. Clear the 2 mobs who guard the door you just entered, since they may aggro through the door while you work on the vamp. BE AWARE that the vamp pathes through that room. Pick a corner and fight the mobs there, he walks through the center and won't aggro you if you're in a corner. Once you cleared the 4 mobs in the room and the 2 outside, make sure weaponshield is ready, finalize your buffs, and med up. This is where it gets beefy.

You have 2 choices. You can wait for him to path back into the room, or you can camo and run to him, pick him off with an arrow, and lead him back to your room. I opted for the second, since he's on a different faction and nothing there assists him, but it's up to you if you want to be safe and wait in the room.

When you get him back into your room, turn around and face him, then hit WS just before he's in melee range. Then target a bat (or him, whatever) and cast snare. Cycle target to next mob, snare. Cycle to next, snare, cycle to another, snare, another, snare, etc. If done quickly, you should land snare on 7 mobs before WS wears. Right before it does, run away from the mobs all the way across the room, which is large enough to give you a buffer even on fullspeed mobs against your SoE. When you get across the room, F8 target a bat that's near you at fullspeed and snare it, then run across the room. F8 target another and snare it, then repeat that until every mob is snared. Once you have them all snared, the hard part is over.

CAREFULLY kite small radii circles until you bunch all the mobs together. When set, you can start shooting the vamp, or do like me and TS + HoA the hell out of them to kill them all (was more fun that way, and great exp.) In maybe 5-6 minutes you'll have your cloak. If you didn't kill all the bats and decided to just focus on DPSing the vamp, that's cool, just camo and run out of the room as absolutely far from them as you can, and they'll stop chasing, then you're free to gate/hammer/origin/die/etc.

Important - Using WS makes this a lot easier because it buys you time to snare as many as you can, which makes the fullspeed kite + snare thing MUCH easier. Remember, with 11 mobs on your ***, it's very difficult to efficiently land snare and not get pummeled when stopping short a nanosecond. Druids can probably pull this off but without WS they'll undoubtedly have a much tougher time. Necros probably can't because their snare doesn't last as long, but who knows. If the 11 mobs were to get in melee range, you're probably as good as dead, or very close to that.

Good luck.

Also see one of these on track in ME.

He roams the zone from north to south along the middle. He had 5-6 bats with him when I found him.

He is snareable, suspect rootable and doesn't summon. Bats only hit me for 100-200.

Bloody Vamp also appears in Castle MM, for the lowbie (mid20s?) version of the costume quest.

The key to beating this guy is handling his adds. (the Hate version pops like 10 or so bats, and their dps shreds a 12k/2.1k pally in seconds. :)

edit - the Castle MM version of this dude was very green at 70 hehe

took them down in katta
# Nov 01 2005 at 5:02 PM Rating: Decent
I ran into one of these in Phenic's room in Katta while doing the loyalist shield quest today. I managed to take it down by pulling the bats to the TM zoneline, which was fairly far away from the BV, and taking them down one by one. The BV took a long time to find us, which might be due to where he was when I found him (inside a building). When the BV showed up, I rooted him and kept at the bats.

Toons were 66 warr, 68 wiz, 70 cleric. I got the same drops as darkevenstar, as well as some stat food called Rock Candy or something like that. The bats also dropped the stat food.
how did you kill it?

We keep getting this mob with a league of bats and DPS at maybe 2K p[er nanosecond, we can't even react in time to save a group. How did you kill it?
This is a mob for the Halloween event, but specifically I do not know what it does.
