a Flameweave mender  

At level 80, the mobs in the nest are much easier to solo than they were before. Also, this time around there are hardly any see invis mobs to be found, which made it easy to get to the single 'a flameweave mender' which was on track. I found a tunnel with two roaming gobbies, a drake, and threee basilisks which could be singled for the most part (occasionally an add if I wasn't paying attention to the situation). I killed the gobbies repeatedly, at least five cycles, and maybe up to ten cycles, so up to 20 gobbies and the only mender was the one who was up to begin with. Track shows 24 'a flameweave something' up with no one else killing in the nest. Most are guradians, scouts, with a few wizzards, and a rare mystic (malo casting devil), and no menders. The menders are pretty rare birds it would seem. I can't stand it killing only two ph's, so am going to leave and come back hoping for menders after server resets and that kind of thing. From what I have seen of these buggers, there are only a few gobbies in any one spot. I haven't found the motherlode of flameweave gobbies yet. I suspect this quest was designed to be a huge time sink. But at least now I have credit for one gobbie and one impression.

Found a Flameweave mender at loc -1383.49, 513.53 in a tunnel in lava section past the room with the lava bridge.

Soloed it: hits for 209 mostly with random hits upto 777. Annoying, they are cleric mob and will start healing themselves at 50%. I harmtouched and lifetapped to kill fast at that point, had a Nest auspex add halfway through battle, auspex maloed me, hits ranged from 209 - 929.

solo SK level 80, mobs con lightblue, anguish geared 1100 aa's, unbuffed.

best bet is to methodically clear the tunnel.

I am trying to do the new version of the quest that gets me the Eminent Book of Wood Elven Culture. For this I need to kill ten of these guys, and make two impressions of their bracers, plus other tasks elsewhere.

I went to the lake in the Broodlands and zoned into the open version of The Accursed Nest by dropping down into the central volcano cone. I zoned into the spot I am used to from so many instanced group nest missions. These guys were present on track. I went west, exited the big room, and went south towards the fire goblins. Along the way were bunches of mobs who were non see invis, except for one see invis tucked away in the corner who was not a problem. Eventually I got to a room with a lava river running down the middle of it. All of the mobs I conned in this room were DB to 75, so at least level 70. This room had a number of flameweaver goobies running around, but no flameweave menders that I saw. On the side I entered the room from, there were a number of non-see invis mobs of the drake/ lavaspinner/ gobby flavor. I could see that at least half of the mobs on the other side of the lava river were see invis. I tried sneak while invised, which worked on the see invis mobs facing away from me, but the mob arrangement made it seem likely that I wouldn't get past them into the tunnel out of the room with sneak, but who knows, maybe just maybe I can do it. I got up on the bridge over the lava to look around, and was thinking if I go here then there... maybe I will get past the see invis to the exit tunnel. All of a sudden I think a fire gobbie (? a flameweave scout) who saw invis ran up, broke invis and I had about five mobs on me. Low hit was 196, high hit was 878. I died before I could gate out.

The options for getting to the flameweave menders are to kill the DB wanderer in the hall to the room with the lava river, then get lucky and have single pulls of drakes and spiders, then get the one or two gobbies that cross the bridge, and hope that eventually a flameweave mender spawns, get lucky trying sneak/invis another time, wait for the zone to repop and get lucky regarding see invis spawns in this room, or Tunare forbid get a group. I suspect I will be doing this part of the quest for the Eminent Book of Wood Elven Culture when I hit level 80. Another option is to find flameweave gobbies elsewhere in the accursed nest, but from what I have seen of the map, and my limited experience in all versions of the nest, I was in the fire portion of the nest, and the rest has other kinds of mobs.
