i am 50 with pp of 200 i have been picking this guy for 16hrs now and nothing went to tanis for 5hrs same deal no coin no aggro ever just nothing he still responds to asking about the note and stanos still tells u its on him. whats the deal??? had a 70 rogue con him for me since it says he's only 45 he says he's even to him so somethings not right???
Yeah, Tani (the guild master in Neriak) was also level 70 for a bit. Anyway, it's fixed - Founy is once again blue to my Rogue (level 56).

they changed the levels back to normal but as far as i have found they don't have the parchment. i've been on it where i parked my rogue there for 7-8 hours while exping my main pick pocketing him 20+ times per respawn and gotten nothing since they fixed it.
Same for me.Been PP him for 12 hours and nothing.Running back between Kaladim and Neriak and neither 1 is has dropped the parchment.Maybe they made it a rarer item to get?

Attempted to pick founy today with my level 53 rogue with a skill of 130pp. got aggroed 3 times, on fourth attempt i got the parchment... so a skill of 200 is definetely not required, or maybe i was just extremely lucky.
What one of the previous posters said is accurate, as soon as you attempt to pp Founy run straight for the zoneline. I made it 3 times with just plain SoW. Hope this helps

Ok, Here's the skinny. You need a 200 skill and you need to pick the guy till it tells you that the attempts are unsuccessful consistantly (you'll fail every now and then). Then wait for him to de-pop at 7 am game time, wait for him to pop back at 8 am game time, rinse, repeat. I've been at this for a couple of hours and haven't aggroed at all.
confirmed.Watched him despawn at 7am game time.Respawned at 8 am.

Remember, the guy doesn't spawn with the parchment everytime and constant picking will only succeed in getting you ganked. So, pick him clean (usually takes 5 picks to do this) then wait for a repop and do it again.

i am now at the final part of my 1.0 epic lol it took 12 hours to lift the parchment peices..... it is a 10% chance that tani or founy will spawn with the note ... btw i looted a topaz right before i got the note so keep tryin and good luck lol it gets harder after those steps btw im a w.e rogue and i thought neriak would be the hardest part.... theres a chick named redox that was a pain to kill

How to do this portion of your epic without dying:
As a dark elf rogue, I am extremely skittish in Kaladim. They hate me there, obviously... well, not all of them, but in the room with Founy can be found two KoS NPCs (a wandering guard and the exterminator). I'm surprised they weren't all KoS, since I may have, er... I may have killed the king of Kaladim 2 or 3 times. But that's neither here nor there. Anyway, I realized that the best way to accomplish this task involved lots of running away. This is very convenient, because the zone-out is right next to you.
Here is what you do:
1. Get Flight of Eagles before you go, because your SoW potions cannot help you in the stupid dwarf cave, and FoE lasts much longer.
2. Wait for the guard to path away. He should only stand near the zone-out tunnel for a few seconds at a time, then he'll head behind the nearby building or down the tunnel on the other side. He seems to have a very long path, so he should not get in your way much.
3. Hide/sneak up to Founy. Standing next to him, facing the zone-out. Now tap pickpocket as you run as fast as you can to the zone. If he catches you, he and all his friends should only get in one or two hits before you're out of there. Usually, he didn't even get a chance to hit me- only the zerker GM right by the mouth of the cave did, because I was already to him by the time the NPCs got their aggro together.
If he does not catch you, and you take no aggro, stop running inside the cave instead of zoning all the way out. But never just stand next to Founy like a sitting duck while you pick pocket- in the time it takes you to see his aggro, react, turn around, and run away, you WILL be dead, my friend.
The "run away" strategy should work well for good guys, too, but without sneaking up to Founy. You should still immediately start running as you pick his pockets, in case he catches you.

I don't know if his level has changed since your post, but as of 2011 it's safe to pick him without making a bee-line for the zone immediately after. I'm in the level 40 rogue goblin shroud (only 1136 HP) and on dial-up internet, and so long as I'm attentive, I can pick him and wait until aggro to run for it and still live. I was, however, using SoW pots and that meant the difference between life and death (now that we can SoW indoors).
You must be a lot faster than my rogue, because I tried this - hit PP and immediately ran towards the zone before waiting to see the result.
After about 10 attempts, he aggroed and I died before I'd taken more than one step :)
In the end I decided to get my lvl 66 druid to help. The original plan was to ensnare him so that he was left standing there when I zoned out. However his MR must be through the roof, as it didn't stick on about 30 attempts (there was no "immune" message though).
So I just kept pulling him to the zone and zoning out and back in until after many attempts he was left on his own. I then tanked him with the druid while the rogue picked away.
Only took one respawn to get the parchment.
By the way, the comment below that if you pick anything other than cash then you should give up, is incorrect. I picked some ivory and was thinking I was out of luck, but got the note on the next attempt.

moved to make way for Berserker NPCs. He's in the same room, just to the right slightly, closer to more rogue NPCs.

My rogue just got the note at 42 today; I just made sure he was 200 on Pick Pocketing.
Well you can only pick blue mobs, and most reports say that Founy is 45, so it would appear 46 is the minimum level. Happy picking.

You're both close. Actually, the rule as far as I know is you can pick any mob under lvl 45 OR any mob 5 lvls below you.

Was doing this for a friend's rogue today. He despawned for me at 7am game time and came back up at 8am.
Crosvar Dirkbringer and his fellow miner friends will aggro when Founy does, so best have sow if you don't already have run speed 3.
Crosvar also hits in the mid 200s to mid 300s so watch out.

due if he aggroes on you just lay down because you are dead. he f'n dropped me 2xs trying to get this friggin note. myskill is 200 and he is white to me at 45. i stole SOMETHING on almost every try but never what i needed. oh well only lost 6% each kill so ***** it i go to bed tonight and get up tomrrow and try again. oh and SOW does nothing. i never made ot to tunnel and i had SoW on the second dance.
just a follow up, i did go back in last night for 1 last shot. i waited from 2am game time until he de/respawned at 8am. i got this bugger on the 1st pick. ok so i died twice lol. it only cost me 12% XP and i am now more motivated than ever to get my damned blade. just a word to the wise, if you ever get anythinG BESIDES MONEY, WAIT FOR REPSPAWN.

there is now a new guy handing out newbie rogue quest (im told that he is lev 60) standing close to him, and when i got aggro he got me (no sow) before i even got to tunnel hittig for 358 x2 (x4). and i was dead before i knew what hit me. just wondering if they put him at that spot on purpose or was it random??????

Anyway killing Founy now would require a full guild raid, cause he is 100 percent resistant to spells - no nuking and zoning to kill him - and every time you aggro him that Bad *** Lvl 60 aggroes too, and he is damn mean, can quad up to 1200, believe me. Makes it fun to pick pocket founy, cause you have to be on your toes to make it to the zone, either that or just pick up a virtue.

Founy isn't terribly hard to get single, and despite his resistance to spells and the like he isn't terribly hard. Big however though...he either has a million hitpoints or some crazyregen. I stood toe to toe with him (65 bard) for a couple of minutes at an absolute standstill. I could regen faster than he could damage me, but his health bar didn't move an inch. I guess I'll have to have a friend pick the notre for me to get my mask :/

Founy finally coughed up my torn parchment top today, after a full 6 spawns of him. On 4 of the 6, I continued picking him nearly non-stop the entire game day, I would estimate 100 - 150 attempts each time, so I'm fairly sure he did not have the note. Finally on the 6th respawn, he handed me my note on about the 15th pick, with 8-9 unsucessful picks after he stopped giving cash.
On a side note, the shorty tried to trick me...2 picks before getting the parchment top, he handed me a "Words of Motion". Just looking at it on my curser, my heart leaped, then reading the text it promptly fell again.

I did this part today and it was rather easy. I arrived at Founy at approxiamately 2PM game time, picked him clean and continued to pick for about 30ish unsuccessful attempts. I then fiddled around till 8AM game time and watch him despawn. At just a few seconds after 9AM (yes, 9AM) he repopped and I began the cycle again. I picked him clean of money and then after 3 unsuccessful attempts I got the Parchment piece. He did agro once but took less than 2 bubbles of health before I zoned. My skill was at 196 when I started the evolution and managed to gain 2 points before the successful pick. I am level 50. Hope this will shed some light for others to make the attempt in the future, now on to Tani!!!

I too have been after the note with 200 pickpocket skill. He definitely does despawn at 8am, and respawn at 10am like clockwork. I've picked his pocked 20-30x on each of about 10 different spawns and no note so far. Typically i get 3g, 1g, 7s, 3s, 1s then unsuccessful repeats. Once however i did get a Topaz which i donated to a druid for SoW outside Kaladim so the little bastahd and his miner buddies dont kill me when i get the inevitable agro after pick_pocket_attempt_google. I'm guessing the note is simply a rare loot that has a typically cruel improbablility of occuring. I have often seen him spawn with a spear of some type.

You are supposed to pick his pocket for a letter to turn in. I currently have a 200 skill in pickpocket and I have tried over 150 times so far with no luck.
I have heard he despawns at 8 AM and respawns at 10 AM game time. Anyone back this up?
He does con blue to me at level 50 so I doubt he is level 35. Very tempted just to kill him and try to get the note that way.

This guy is definitely not 35. He's still conning red to me at 42.
