Nest Dragon Meat
# Jun 23 2018 at 11:06 PM Rating: Default
So I killed this thing today and got a chest. Thought that the mission was over and that I did not get any Nest dragon meat.

I did this with 3 different toons. On the fourth toon I realized that the thing was regenerating.

So if you kill it too fast you'll get the loot. Let it regin back to 85%; then you can kill it. It seemed to hitpoint lock and I had to hit a quick burn to kill it. It died with ease and a nest dragon meat dropped.

So if your farming for the path to 350. Make sure that the corpse is actually a corpse and that it is at 0% and not regenerating.

Also you get a lock out timer even if the thing is 1% and regenerating. So if you leave you can't go back to kill it and get the nest dragon meat.

Adds were between 66 and 69th lvl, so Felicity/Wake of Felicity is sufficient to mez them. They were also charmable.

The Adds are called Whorl of searing ashes (which have the generic rock wisp graphic)-- they hit for about 770 decently fast on a 70 time monk. They proc a blind spell which I am not sure the name of but it lasts roughly 3 ticks if I counted right. Aggro on the dragon seemed a bit sluggish, but this is the first time my guild has attempted him.

Adds where mezzable, proc hit me for only 1500 initial I have a measley 3% dot shielding didn't notice the tick rate though

Kill him he takes a nap, spawning adds the whole time one at a time til he wakes up then he is much harder and more adds pop. Let's just say it gets interesting.
Spawn

Is he a progression raid or is he just a normal spawn in TD? If so how long of a spawn timer is he? Thanks.

What sort of progression would you suggest a guild has before tackling this guy? Not asking for any strats, just curious if this is a feasible (sp?) target for us.

VT? EP? Time? Qvic? Anguish?

I'd say he's about the difficulty of an average time god - should be doable for an EP guild. My guild is in Anguish and we've been unchallenged by this encounter.

PS: Concerning bebad's "Once the strat is figured out"... of course you will wipe a few times, but once you figured it out, it will be doable equipmentwise =)

Once the strat is figured out, sure it's like a Time God. Until then, consider it to be like a train.....coming to run you down. Just keep your eyes open while doing this fight, and prep for surprises. I am very glad about this event. Finally a better fight content with a few surprises.

I agree.

As much as a strat would make everything easier -- we took on this dragon two nights ago with no clue on what was going to happen. This style of raid + the dragon content brought back the chills and jitteryness of the oldschool naggy raids. Although we wiped both attempts, we learned a lot about he encounter and were definetely not disappointed.
