You say, 'Hail, Volunteer Renlor'

Volunteer Renlor says 'Greetings, traveler! I'm Jonso Renlor, born and raised in [Highpass Hold]! I'm part of the Volunteer Watch. You look pretty strong - why don't you help us out?'

You say, 'What is Highpass Hold?'

Volunteer Renlor says 'Highpass Hold is run by [Carson McCabe], who lives in the keep. It's a rough place here, but you can easily make a quick buck.'

You say, 'Who is Carson McCabe?'

Volunteer Renlor says 'Carson runs this place. I wouldn't cross him; he seems like a pretty ruthless guy. I hear he's got connections all over Antonica!'

If you really want to have fun with this guy, stop by the bazaar and get the best pet belt, muzzle, and weapon you can find, summoned stuff ofcourse, matter of fact get a high level mage to summon you a compplete set of armor and jewely to boot. Give them all to him and watch the gnolls the next time they come by. HE totally owns them. Nice twist of fate. If you want the items back kill him and loot them all should all be there LOL.
He doesn't talk right

I am amiable to him and talked to him. He will tell you about [highhold pass], but he also asks you to [volunteer], or something like that, and if you ask or tell him about volunteering he doesn't answer. I'm missing something, or he's been broken since Beta. Anyone know how to get him to respond to the second part?
good guy

The first time I went through the pass this npc made me want to use my high powered spells. I restrained myself and walked off from the fool. A few lvls later running back from East Karana invis through the path I was watching a dwarf and human tear through some knoll when all the sudden a newbie Barbarian walked right into the fray He started becoming the mobs easy kill. Renlor was amongst the fray but was never whacked on once. I had a target highlighted I guess it switched on me and I hit Renlor interesting tho my DD spells as a wizard should have killed the fool outright. Needless to say he didn't die so I finished the job after I wasted the knoll while he was attacking me. If verant puts fools like that in the game who needs enemies.

he's also a sucker trap for the dark races trying to riase faction with Highhold guards & residents. He starts attacking you, and if you kill him, there goes that faction you were trying to build up. Afterwards, he'll aggro on you forever, and will wait by the zone if you zone out.

I speak from bitter experience...but who cares, I got Kunark now.

Agreed..he's a major PITA. My first encounter, I'd zoned in from EC with a group to camp the Mucktails. We hopped up on the ledge, and I summoned up my skellie pet. A few minutes later, this twit follows a gnoll up onto the ledge, and when the gnoll goes down, he aggros on my pet. Before I even realize whats happening, my pet turns and whacks him. Bye-bye faction. Happened twice. The third time he came up, I dismissed the pet, and our enchanter charmed him. I zoned back to EK, and they sicced him on the next gnoll to show up. He dies without us loosing faction, and I spent the rest of the camp petless.

Anyone know what the exact faction hit for him is?
Have those two kills made it impossible for me to ever get good faction here?
No

This guy can be your best little buddy in a pinch, he can do some damage and taunts a little if you run to him. I actually use him in battles cause he cant outdamage me and look at him as a free DOT. Dont underutilize some of the freebies that Verant puts in that cant KS your steals. Thats what he is there for.
