Was able to solo it in era with 70 self buffed tacvi geared ranger. Hit it with flame lick and pulled it toward the northwest corner of the zone where nothing seemed to be pathing. Slowed it with Earthcaller, then switched to my main weapons and melee'd it down. Popped Guardian and Auspice but don't think they were needed. Max hit was 655. It summons.

Found wandering right at the north side of the zone. Note that it summons. lvl 66, not a horribly hard fight, but adds are very easy to get depending on what's wandering by. I had a dragon and 5 small adds join during the fight, and was lucky enough to finish the mob, loot the sample, and gate out while they were killing my merc. As a lvl 71 ranger, I popped some Discs' to get through it.

Does she have a PH? I've been killing wyvern hunters/huntress' for over two hours now w/ track up and not seeing her.

Just as likely that it is a timed spawn (on a long timer).

Let us know (anyone that knows).

Also, we need the faction hit for this NPC.

No faction hits (plus or minus)

Saw it on track as I was moving along the East wall of the zone. I left my group at the wall and tracked it down (while invis). I let it get relatively close and away from other mobs. I cast Entrap, and it was resisted. So, we took off running towards the group (level 66's & 67s). Fairly straightforward kill. No adds close enough to join in.

Dropped the blood and an emerald ring.

Yah easily took her out as a 65 Ranger 500AA with tank merc. Not sure if she summoned them or not but 2 named dragons showed up during the fight. Ran away cause not sure if I still need my Veeshan faction as I just came back to game.

i had this guy at 5% (no exaggeration) and a named dragon Cargalia came by and threw my 3box crew into the air.

However, 71 cleric, 61 ranger, 59 shaman 3box didn't have much trouble with this guy. 2 tries on malo and slow landed no problem, after that it was all cake.

I healed with Celestial as my ranger isn't the best tank, but keeping the 1k celest on him didn't drain the cleric too much.

Ranger at about 6.6khp buffed right now, still not much trouble.

Going back in now for another attempt (cleric didn't die from fall, she landed on some weird ice sculpture and i ran her to zone)

And down he goes. This worked great:

Set up shop about halfway along the east wall of the zone (Just south of The Dragon Sage, whatever that is), and pull him to the flat area just before the wall. its out of range of any wanderers and you can take your time wearing him down. In the end he turned out to be pretty weak, aside from his hits, which slowed aren't even a problem.

Neuralgic Wyvern Blood
Phosphorous Powder x2
Pard of Yaeth's Compendium Pg. 72

One step closer...

no adds

ok im thinking that the reason you all are getting adds is because of where you choise to engage, lvl 70 sk solo'ed this for me about 2 min ago on Xegony (thank you Raptor).

He pulled mob down to ToV zoneline (Son was not up) and we did not have a single add.

However, dragons will assist and this mob does like to run from dragon nest to dragon nest.
Here's how we took him down
# Jun 01 2006 at 10:16 AM Rating: Decent
Me (a 66 Ranger - crap bazaar gear) and a 70 BST friend of mine, went in - fully buffed. Pulled him at the wrong spot (on the eastern side of Veeshan canyon). As soon as we pulled him, it seemed instantly there were 4-5 other dragons, all named. We went down in a heap quickly. Next attempt, only self-buffed, we tried it a bit different. I'm KOS and he's Warmly, so I basically ran by most of the dragons in the area we found him and (with SoE on, of course) and trained them around the zone while he solo'd the beast. It went down quickly while I just ran around the zone, scared for my life. heheh. Once it was down, I ran to the corpse, looted real quick, and headed for the zone. He laughed at me because he said "you have a crapload of dragons on your ***!" I never knew it - resisted a couple of breaths during run, but they never laid a glove on me! I don't know if any named were chasing me - to be perfectly honest, I was too scared to turn around to find out. :) Was not summoned by any of them, and I didn't whack on a neuralgic huntress at all.

Your mileage may vary, of course, but worked for me last night. ;)

Was able to do this with a level 70 Ranger and level 68 boxed Cleric...both were Bazaar equiped but have some of the simpler stuff from the new PoR zones.

Opened up with the 1k HoT even before engaging. Then wacked away with Earthcaller until it proc'ed. After that it was a simple matter of Cheals when necessary. The HoT added a nice buffer as the mob hits hard and fast until slowed.

Got 3 adds during the fight but was able to root 2 and the 3 kept summoning so I just let it beat on my DS and dropped some DoTs on it while tanking the Epic Mob.

The mob wanders all over the zone I got smished twice before I got it and the 2 other times it was far West and Far North. When I finally nailed it It was mid zone and pulled it to the DN ZL.

Mob Info
# Aug 07 2005 at 6:19 AM Rating: Decent
Mob spawns when Ranger at proper spot in Epic 1.5 enters the zone. Took him down last night after second try. Cleric was KOS to Veeshan and adds took him down quickly. Rezzed up and took him down very quickly with 69War, 70Dru, 70Dru, 69Rng all mostly Elemental geared. Clr sat out of 2nd fight. Mob hit for 300-600. He roams the East sides of the valley then walks to the NE of the Entrance to Temple of Veeshan. We killed him here, very few mobs in this area. We got no adds on second run.
pop time?

The theory is this mob will spawn whenever a ranger with the appropriate steps completed zones in, assuming it has not spawned within 2 hours. If it has, then it will not spaw for 2 hours even if the ranger enters.
Mobs info

Ok this mob is on COV faction and if you pull any mob near him with COV faction will add unless you invis self. Mob hits for about 300 to 400 max I saw so far. Not a hard mob to take down once slowed but they fun is having all the Name dragons add if you are fighting it the wrong spot. Even if you are ally to COV faction once you pull him all other COV mobs will help if they are near. Also the hounds adds to had like 5 add on one pull of him but was ok got 3 furs from then lol... So say you should snare in open area invis self then you can bring him back to zone or where ever you want to fight and should not get any adds as long as you invis don't drop at the wrong time.

All summoning mobs (I haven't heard of a single exception) can only start summoning if their HP is under 97%. If the mob starts casting a spell on you at 98%, and you hit him down below 97%, he will continue what he's doing before he begins summoning. Also if you're right on the mob, they often won't bother summoning - since they figure you're close enough already :). Finally, if a mob regens back Above 97% They Stop Summoning! So if you are pulling a mob and hit it below 97% on the pull, drop your damage shields and hopefully he'll regen back up before you die on the pull.

I can confirm that he summons. I was hunting fur here at 67 and saw this blue named mob, so I thought I'd give it a go. Fairly shortly after sending in the pet a cragwyrm added. Pet was going down fairly quickly and I started running for the zone. As soon as my pet died I was immediately summoned. Was hitting for 695 and I went down pretty fast.
blood for ?

Got jumped by this while 2x 2 boxing with a monk mate for his epic bit.

I ended up duoing it with my druid and myself (ranger) while monkie and his cleric did his epic mob. ranger is time geared.

Level is out. Conned even to a 66 Cleric.

Took out pretty easily with 65 Warr, 65 Cleric, 66 Cleric, 66 Wiz, 65 Mage 68 SK and 65 Ranger. Mostly equipped with Ornate and LDoN gear.
Ranger spent most of the fight kiting 2 adds and only the wizzie ended up taking a dirt nap, that will teach her to overnuke...well maybe not
