Root split the Raider from the Man O'War.....wasted the Man O'War x2 and then took Raider by itself and easily burned with 153 AA's (Crit Aff V), Winged Death+Swarming Death+Immolation of Ro, Merc dropped down to 20 and full healed with Chlorotrope then layed another round of my 3 DoT's and ended up with only ~75% mana left to burn whatever.

Either the mob has been nerfed that easy or i am AA/Geared correctly for my level. In either case, not as bad as others posted.

Zoned into EW with my little Collection Bag and went to the SW corner of the zone where my 75 monk guildie, time geared, waited. About ten mins later the Raider spawned with his man o wars. Monk pulled one off him, then pulled the Raider and remaining man o war and disc'ed them all to death. Was a very quick fight, regardless of the Raider's rampaging, and since the monk was already up in his face the Raider never summoned. Dropped the Totem immediately, yay for me!! :D

Killed him yesterday with a 66 druid and boxed 65 war, got tired of waiting for help so I went for it...

Both toons have around 80 AAs war is mostly defensive w/9k hp - 1750ac and druid mostly healing AAs. I rooted his buddies first off as they followed closely behind the raider but the raider didn't aggro, once rooted pulled raider to the coastline.

All spells landed fine on raider but was difficult at times to keep up with heals even with stonewall disc up he was doing some decent dmg, he hits pretty fast. I finished the fight with druid at 5% mana and war at 0% hp but still alive lol. The point came where I had to decide between an evac or crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. Too close for comfort but I got my Totem.

Briarsn Brambles - 66 druid
Capytano - 65 war

As others have mentioned, once you enter EW at the correct point in the quest, it will take approximately 15-20 minutes for the Raider and his buddies to spawn. They spawn and roam in the south western corner of EW. His two buddies follow him, but at a distance so you can easily pull, root, and snare them. They con light blue to 75 and hit pretty hard.

The Raider quads and can hit pretty fast. He summons every 5 or 6 seconds, is snarable, rootable, and does not cast.

My Strategy:

Once I got into EW, I dire charmed an elder snow griffon and headed to the SW corner of the zone. After about 10 minutes I buffed myself and my pet and waited. About 7 minutes later he spawned with his friends, I tracked them down, and snared one of his protectors. The other came running, but the Raider continued on his way. After rooting and snaring both of them, I tracked down the raider, snared him, pulled him to the western coast, and rooted him.

I then proceeded to debuff him so I could better land spells and lessen his hits. After memming 5 dots, I started stacking them on him. When he was around 95% he began summoning. My pet moved in and survived about 20-30 seconds, which bought me time to finish dotting and gave some decent ds damage. He took about 2-3 rounds of 73-63 level dots and a number of ds hits before he dropped and I had to heal a couple times with adrenaline surge and a hot potion.

I suggest getting spell haste cast on you and healing yourself at around 50%. You should have plenty of mana because he does not have that many hp. I didn't have time to nuke, but I did have time to re-dot between summons. Although I didn't use it, you may want to have a melee guard spell up to buy some time.

you have to have bag for epic quest in inventory and if killed you will need to wait two hours before you can spawn in again :)
Hits fast but I can be done

First of I waited and watched there pathing and I was able to snare / root his buddys without argoing him or anything else and I finished them off. I then waited for the pathing to put him on the edge so I wouldn't get adds again.

Max hit recorded was 695
Hits seemed very fast
~32k hit points if that
I soloed him self buffed.
I am a very well time / qvic equiped druid with 6863hp, 8620mana, 732AAs and 1496ac according to my current magelo. It was a very close fight mostly because I assumed he would not snare and would summon so I went toe to toe with him.

I saw earlier he doesn't spawn right away so I zoned in to check it out. I didn't time it but yes he does take awhile to spawn. 10-20 minutes seems about right.

He was way over in the SW corner and starting to head northward.
Spawning

I know they are saying that he spawns when you zone in with a certain item, but tonight he is not working that way. I have been killing walruses and man o wars and he and his 2 buddies spawned. Quick check, no one else in the zone but me. Around 30 minutes later, he still up, still no one else in the zone.

Looks like he despawns too, for shortly after I posted, he stopped appearing on track. This is a plus for people that might spawn him on accident just because they are killing all the walruses and man o wars for exp.

All you Druids doing this spawn need to hang out in the SW corner of EW. It took the raider almost 20 mins for me to spawn. He roams around like the others. Raider is snareable/rootable, summons and can hit to high 600`s.

This is solable if you are well geared and have some new spells at your disposal. If you do solo him kill his friends first.
Not too bad

Allright, since no one else posted anything here. This thing isnt that bad. Just did it with 65 clr, nec, dru (me)and 64 war with around 1500 ac. War wasid that he was getting hit in the 100's mainly, and never over 600.

I tossed a couple dots on the raider and then took care of 2 guards and other adds with a charmed rhino. All in all, really easy fight. Dropped totem, Ulthork hide tunic, and a tusk.

Was the warrior defensive, or did it just not hit him that hard from his AC and possible defensive AAs?
RE: Not too bad

Warrior was not defensive. It will hit for up to 600 if you have around 1k ac, but not often.
