Balance of the Nameless

91 Warrior fought this guy with cleric merc along side. It kept casting Balance of the Nameless about every three to four seconds. The spell description lists that it removes spell debuffs, but my experience is that it also restores their health. Lowest I could get it to was around 80% and bam BotN and it's back to 100%. I was hoping it would eventually run out of mana and I could kill it, but it didn't.

We just kept going back and forth. I'd never drop below 95% health (thx to cleric merc) and it'd so stay near 100% as well. I used the opportunity to top off all the various weapon skills that I'd been neglecting, even skilling up about 50 points in my Hand To Hand skill. Once all my skills were topped off, I just ran away and it deaggrod.

I don't know if this spell effect was added after all these other people said they solo'd him, but I can't see how that's possible, unless there's some way to block it that I'm unaware of or maybe someone can just do a whole lot more damage a lot more quicker than I can.

Solo 80 Shaman. Took around 17 minutes and all of my mana to get him down.

It's a good thing Shaman have Spiritual Channeling. I burned my whole mana bar, used up the AA and then burned my entire mana bar again before he finally went down.

Just duo'd him. Ranger and Shammy, both around 12k unbuffed hp. Fight took under 10 minutes. Ranger pop'd infusion, Shaman didn't, neither resisted the FD a lot.

Easily 3 boxed with 14.9k hp mnk with 1200 AAs, 13k mana cleric, and a 11k mana shm. Trick is to keep in circle, mnk healed him self most and shm slowed and maloed.. keep it slowed and hes np at all. resisted the fd ae most of the time being 500ish resist vs all buffed..

i know it isnt good to post players that are well above the level of people who do it - killing it. but its possible.

ae is nasty to caster who get hit with it taking them down fast. casters should run in cast run out. dont engage him on wall or he will not lose hp and stay in that spot

Took him out with a huge raid yesterday on FV with Clan Werre. Tank had 13k hp but with good healling he never got low... again though the raid was big. he dropped cloak and a few runes. We only had 1 death and its because of the 4k AE.

Yes the Qvic+ folks may be able to one group him such as Benthern and crew but anyone else its raid ONLY.
You must keep him in the center of the pit. Further from the center he has massive regen and will either tether or simply 'reset' as if it had tethered.
The AoE of 1500 is generally not resistable, no matter what anyone thinks. Primatic is kind of broken rt now so means if your average on resists is not over 400 you have basically no chance of resisting. The range on this is based entirely on if you have agro. If you have no agro, you take no damage. If you are at the maximum range for an Ext range Bolt you will still get hit.
His rampage is AoE and since the stealth nerf it is exactly the same as his hitbox which means everyone in range to hit him WILL be taking it. The new AoE is also a combat round. In most cases this is a triple hit now. I haven't received a quad since the Nerf.
Bonestrike IS resistable as normal, is single target only and if your tank doesn't have extreme agro will generally lose it during the stun.
I recommend group or MGB heals and have everyone at range fight within range of the MGB's or the AoE will destroy them. Appears timed to 30seconds.
Loot is worthwhile as a good rough raid and will prepare your Raid group for some of the harder mobs in Elementals+. In many ways he's actually harder since the rampage nerf. Honestly should have a chance at Glowing Runes considering the new difficulty of the mob. He's fun tho ;)

K tried this today with 18 people 64 wiz lowest most 66 and above. MT was 14k hp with 680 aa. failed twice. The time+ equipped monk with resists of 533 NEVER resisted the 4k aoe. Had bard playing resist too. Most never resisted. Would like some help with this.

Definately lvl 70. Turned yellow at lvl 68. He's also pretty nasty if you don't have very good resists. The melee part is not a problem, the AE is. I would suggest bringing 3-4 groups for your first try, stick a bard and a pally in each group if you're pre-EP for resists and group heals. If you're post EP, 2 groups will most likely suffice, and Qvic people 1-2 groups would work fine.

How they give only lv 70 to this beast?
This is a hard raid named, it should be changed to cons red red to a lv 70 so people are warned it is not something 'groupable'
This undercon is costing lots of deaths to groups.

This guy can be group killed with the right group and gear. Our tank was a 14k warrior we also had a shammy, wizzy, bard, Rogue (i think) and me as the cleric. We resisted all the AE's/DD's cuz of the bard song. It was a long fight but his HP were going down fast if he was in the middle of his room. He droped 2 lvl 69 runes and a leather bracer thing.

We tried this guy last night.

To start with we pulled him to the side of his pit - wrong answer. He regens so quickly that we never got him below 98%, and we beat on him for over 5 minutes. While this was going on there was some discussion about positioning him, so we moved him back to the center of the pit. DING - correct answer. Once we got him in the middle his HP started dropping quickly.

Unfortunately ours started dropping even quicker. On the side of his pit he continually dispelled anything cast on him but that was all he did. It looked like a straight up melee fight. However, back in the middle he showed us that he had 2 different AEs/spells that wiped us out fast.

The 1st gave a message "The ground trembles beneath you. You have taken 1500 points of damage" and caused everyone in melee range to FD. Ouch. When all the melee fell down he quickly moved onto the healers and took them out before we could figure out what had happened and stand back up.

The message from the 2nd AE was "Decaying bones crush your body. You have taken 4000 points of damage."

Melee wise he's no pushover either. Our MT (level 70 with all defensive AAs and 10.8K HP) only got hit for about 1K, but us lesser mortals got walloped for 2300 (tops anyone reported.) He rampages and enrages. On the side of the pit we couldnt get slow to stick, but in the middle tash and slow both hit with no problem.

We had about 48 people and decided to try again. Basically the same thing happened, although we did last a bit longer since we had an idea of what we were up against. During the second battle he got off both AEs a couple of times. Noone in the raid reported resisting either of the AEs. Casters were able to nuke from outside melee range, but still got hit by the AEs.

Good luck ya'll. He's lotsa fun!

The 4K AE can be resisted. We buffed the raid with every resist buff we could, and engaged him. While tanking him, I never got hit with the 4K AE. The 1.5K AE hit almost every time, I partially resisted once only taking a couple hundered damage.

The problem I see on this mob is the constant dispelling. DoT's are useless on this mob, as far as I can tell. Also, he appears to dump his aggro list, as we had many problems with him ping-ponging all over the place, even though I was procing hate procs normally.

We tried fighting him in a number of places. There is a small cirle of columns in his pit, and when I tanked him there we seemed to do best, but the raid still ended up eating a lot of AE's.

Solve the aggro problem, and it's probably winnable.

I agree, fun encounter. Will take some time to figure out how to beat this mob, as the dispell and aggro dump are a major PITA.

Mind sharing how you beat him? He appears to wipe aggro and debuff constantly. DoT's would not stay on him for more than a tic. Tanks couldn't keep aggro on the mob, no matter what.

There is a trick to keeping his regen managable. Not to be difficult, but it's more fun if you figure it out yourself.

Not to be difficult either, but took about 2 minutes to figure out how to counter his regen. No trick really, keep him in the middle of the pit.

Hate to break this to you, but in case you hadn't noticed, Allakhazam is all about sharing information. You might want to click around the site some, you'll find just about every mob has some information from people about how they did the encounter.

If you don't feel like sharing, then don't. And thanks for the tip about having fun. Funny, I see whole sites where people come together to figure out encounters, the new epics, etc etc. Seems to me by those people's posts, they are enjoying working together to figure them out.

Kinda like this site.

Going on a limb here, having never faced him and asked by a developer during beta to leave him alone if I knew what we good for me. Once you get him into that special place Wizkey is talking about and given that he dispels DoT's, well Sony was kind enough to give Magicians a whole bunch of useless spells that could only be used successfully on mobs after PoP. Yes I am talking about Rain Spells like Sun Storm, Maelstrom of Electricity and such. Dispel/Annul only affects spells that create icons.

In beta he didn't see thru a Rogue's SoS, but he didn't let me get behind him if he saw me coming either, only got behind him once and he's rather fast to turn around despite his size. He seemed to sense my rogue in beta but SoS held, not sure if he can now see invis.

BTW... if you get close enough he even winks at you, just remember to bring a Glowing Backpack full of Peppermint Altoids for his breath... it's a killer.
