The Murkglider Hivequeen

Raid Encounter
Screenshot

Uploaded July 24th, 2007

Surrounded by several of a murkglider attendant, which can be single-pulled. During the encounter, she spawns several of A Vibrating Egg, which turn into A Cracked Egg if not killed promptly (around 30 seconds), which each turn into 4 x A Murk Hatchling if not killed promptly

Potential for using the egg spawns for damage shield PL session is obvious. As long as the tank can maintain agro with an aoe spell, and does not riposte, the session can last as long as desired since the Queen keeps laying eggs that keep spawning level 69 mobs. Just need the right level to get good XP from killing level 69 mobs.

Every mob in WoS is trivial for the guild I'm in, Hive Queen is one of the "toughest". Just get enough AE nukers (druids, wizards, mages) and the eggs are no issue. Keep an MA/SA on the queen at all times while all other dps kills the eggs. No CH rot is needed either.

have you considered the fact that the people who would consider this gear desirable, would not be in your guild?
glowing
# Jan 08 2005 at 11:40 PM Rating: Decent
She dropped a glowing tonight on the 8th of january.

As for strat, we had a pally tank, and went full offensive on her, while mezzing the hatchlings, worked like a charm

Slowable yes. The big problem with this fight is not the queen itself its the eggs, bring lots of mezz power or dps.

SORRY FOR POSTING DOUBLE

#eowynn, Posted: Oct 07 2004 at 8:52 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) So like my guild tried this event yesterday. She seems kind of random on the eggs spouting out. These need to die asap. Our first go we had an idea of how to handle these but needless to say we didn't do it fast enough, we were over run with 40 mobs, yes 40 when the last person died. We regrouped, thought about a different strat, did the strat and bam she was cake, not a single death was a very quick and esay fight. Just think about it, use this forum and you can win. Only 2 greater runes and some other random loot, which i don't remember right now.

U don't need a big force for her full EP geared raid is major overkill biggest thing is to just have 1-2 groups of DPS stay on the queen while all others go around killing eggs so u never get adds.

My guild killed her today. The whole raid follows Ceiriana's description except it gets more hectic as the encounter continues. The attendants respawned and we were not able to kill the eggs fast enough at the end, though we managed to hold out long enough to kill the hivequeen.

I gotta give it to Sony they made the scripts on these Raid mobs awfully interesting this time. Really out did themselves, I can't wait to take on one of these things. Should be lots of fun

Attempted this gal earlier today, without much success. Here's the info gathered.

Located in the SW caves. Take the first fork to the right and continue to the end. She's surrounded by a number of red con (to 66) mobs, called "a Murkglider Attendant" single pullable. Seem to have some odd aggro effect, as they were bouncing around everywhere once in camp.

Soon after engaging the queen splurts out ~6 "a vibrating egg". These are killable, and it advised that as soon as they pop all but MT disengage from queen and whack them. If not, each will become "A cracked egg" within thirty seconds, spawning up to four "a murk hatchling". All level 69 mobs. It should be noted that unlike all other murkgliders encountered in the cave, the attendants, hatchlings, and the queen herself are NOT undead.

No info after this first wave, as that was all it took to wipe us. Will update if we attempt again.

--edit--

Wiped for the same reason on attempt number two. Suggest you bring along some AoE nuking power, the eggs spawn in fairly fast waves and you've only 30 secs to kill all of them before they hatch. Since we lacked the power, at one stage we were facing around 40 level 69 mobs. While the hatchlings are overcons, that's little comfor to the healers they're beating on.
