Duoed this guy today with a 70war/druid, not that well geared, mostly DoD stuff. Warrior resisted a spell "Deep Gouge", only saw 1 resist on it, everything else was clinging apathy and dragornian venom. In 2x kills got 2x boneflow hoop and 1x muramite rune.

Level 70 beastlord here mainly time + dod equipment, 300 aa's can solo droongar with relative ease. His ph is the wandering dragon elite armsman or arch prelate behind where tarlang spawns. 20 min exactly on the ph timer, and no luck so far on the mantle for my alt :(, tis definetely the rare drop
He can be taken down without too much trouble with a 70 druid and a 68 magician. Get the pet (I used 66 air pet) Symbol of Balikor or Conviction, but Bali preferably so the druid can give it Steeloak.
To find him, let the druid track or download these maps. When you're done, extract all of the text files into you maps folder in your EQ directory, which is probably "C:\Program Files\Everquest\maps" (without quotes).
To kill him, simply let the pet tank, throw a Malosinia at him, have the druid heal the pet throughout the fight, and at 75%, nuke him as much as you like - the air pet keeps insane aggro.
For time and difficulty versus reward, this is a great mob.

I beat him down regularly with my shaman solo with no pet, I root as he approaches my camp spot, malos and slow him, cast Panther on me, click epic, select melee set up and send in aa dogdogs, dots he then summons me and we go toe to toe never gets me below 60% mana slowed he's cake. Great place to farm runes for alts and not bad aa xp at the same time, it can go slow once you've cleared the area the respawn time is fairly slow 15 - 20 mins

December 15, 2005 -- Droongar dropped a 66 (minor) rune; yes it is not listed on this site but he dropped it for me, as well as the Boneflow Hoop (caster ear)
Killed him 3 times, on third time, Muramite Rune dropped

I dont if this has happened to anyone else, and i havent seen it happen in a long time, but the first time i ever saw Droongar up he wasnt wandering past tarlang, he was wandering between the dragorns directly south of tarlang, and the wanderer mentioned below was also up wandering the cliff. I believe he has two PHs much like a deranged feran, just one has a high chance of spawning the named than the other.

Cut and paste that into your NC map file , and he will be marked. Basically he is the only wandering mob to walk past Tarlang. Tarlang is a non aggro mob ( necro epic ) so I kited back and forth over him to kill Droongar. Usual dragorn named procs and summons... 656 looked to be his top hit.

he spawns on the path where tarling is and wanders back and forth on the ledge log we camp is neg 150 pos 1400

Its a quest piece for the tier 1 loyalist armor. Very rare drop from him. Killed him probably 20 time snowand not dropped it yet :P

He is found in the pits near "Tarlang", who is an NPC on the map that I downloaded. He's in the area best described by the poster below me as "The Elite Armsmen /Arch Prelates area"
Killed him twice, He dropped
