Was harder just getting a good start, as she was terribly inconsitent in behavior (pathing, warping, memwiping, was different every time), but once I got her where I needed her, wasn't too bad. Still kinda rough, but I've had worse.

Two casts of Pure Blood will cure it. The debuff icon in the buff slot looks like a heart w/ some of the "life" gone from the top of it.

TOO easy just 1 grouped her with a BL, Druid, ranger, Paladin and a wizzy. I was the Druid and i didn't even have to chain cast the large (64) CH. Although we were all qvic+ geared but she realyl awsn't that hard at all.
Dropped 2 runes and shoulders...the shoulders rotted.
Despawned

We had a very strange attempt on this mob this week, though we've killed her in the past.

Mob came with 1 nurse, who we could not cast on or attack.

At 8 or 9% health, the mob became uncastable/unattackable, and a few minutes later despawned.

Bug?

Belt of twisted iron doesnt drop off this mob. Comes from a chest when someone kills this mob as part of their 2.0, I think it was the shaman 2.0 and he spawned MSL with a turnin or something.

Murkglider Nurse
# Jan 22 2005 at 12:10 PM Rating: Decent
murkglider nurse, can't seem to find any information on this. I seen this creature when I was trying to pull the Schoolteacher, after finding that you can't pull the traditional way. Was on ranger's track, so we were gonna try, but the Nurse was in the way, was hoping to find something out about that particular mob. I was unable to locate it with the bestiary so far.

You CAN pull her the traditional way, you just need to throw, throw throw, as she mem blurs herself as you pull her, so you just need to reestablish aggro(hit her again) repeatedly.

The nurse is one of the murks which are in the School Leader's cove. They are always up if she is, however do not aggro with her (assist). They do come during the fight though, first a melee murkglider, then the nurse adds later.

They cannot be mezzed(they can but..) because of the School Leader's cancel magic ae, she dispels the mez on them or such... so if you mez them, you need to pull School leader away a good distance, and if you do that, it means pulling her out of the cove.. and if you pull her out of the cove, do it to start and never get the adds!

IF any murks follow her on your pull, it is because, as I posted(did you actually read it?) someone was trying School Leader, had the murks assist, and they evaced or wiped, so now those murks are in assist her mode. Simply pull School Leader to wos murks camps, and the 2 smaller ones will chase. However, the named will stop and cast, and the smaller murks will pull ahead, and when the School Leader stops to cast her ae, mem blurring herself, simply target the nurse and pull it instead. Kill the smaller murks, then pull School Leader out, and no adds will help.

Peace

Yes, I read your wonderful post Hotrod, and I understood it, since when we attempted to pull it, the mob would go back (Forgetting about us), just as you posted would happen. Then tried it again with my chanter (no one had died yet)instead of warrior, and same thing, only I never noticed the dot I got for pulling as well... By the time I did, was too late (death), rest of the group ran to WoS, so last time we tried we got the adds, just as you posted would happen on a wipe/or escape. Was 4 of us in group, not the greatest gear, none of us are EP flagged etc. On the last attempt, I happened to notice that Nurse... the one barely mentioned anywhere here, and not listed in bestiary ( that I could find ). My original question was about the *Nurse* since you answered all my questions about the Leader in your postings. I just was wondering if it dropped anything, was it just a graphics buff/debuff, exactly what it's purpose is, and if it drops anything worth killing it, or can you even kill it? That's all I was wondering, I got all the other stuff from your previous posts. It all made scense from what we experienced.

Nurse is just a healer murk, helps the School Leader when you fight her in the cove. To pull the school leader, I would recommend someone with good range skills, a ranger, or monk really, monk can use mend if dotted, ranger can heal , and has good range to pull... basically you have to walk it in to camp, go backwards, and throw throw throw, not hard really.

If you fight the School Leader in her cove, mobs should come during fight to assist her(the ones from her cove I believe.)

As far as I know the adds are nothing special, just adds, if they come during your intial pull of the School Leader, merely pull them and kill them before actually pulling school leader.

Peace

RE: Murkglider Nurse

Nurses's ect drop nothing, they are a nothing mob.... School Leader is basically, gimp as it may be, an event.

The Nurses are part of this event, they assist and heal her (if you fight her in her cove).

Pull SL out and away from the cove and its plain sailing.

Nurses etc. despawn when SL dies.

Tip for healers/nukers, her AE doesnt hit if you are above her.... pull her down into the Valley and stand on the path up top or use the hills. Keep your Clarity and your mana :p

Some tips/info...

Yes she summons.
Yes her dispel ae is only for npcs, so you cannot mez adds around her, she breaks it pretty much. Mez lasts a second or two..
The crackling static ae is the typical remove/replace kei line, so if you get hit with it, buh bye mana regen. I have killed her many times, and I am not sure the crackling static is an ae, if it is, maybe a small range, but it seems to act more as a rampage dot, instead of rampaging melee, you get hit by crackling static. I really am not sure, so perhaps someone else would know, we just use Q, or Breath of trushar to help, pally grp heals help tons too. I do know the MT never has to deal with it... and sometimes casters get it, so perhaps it acts a rampage dot, but I do know MT almost never sees it. AND I have been battle rezzed under her, and NEVER been hit by it.

Her adds, well there is a way to avoid them spawning at all actually, they are the murks you see in her cove, which will not come assist her at first.

She spawns in a little cove near wos, picture this...you come from wos, up the ramp, past the dragorn NPC Gorvoroth(sp?), and then the walkway turns right. You pass through an arch, flanked by two dragorns, and ahead is another arch with rocks in front of it(the one before bridge/drunt). Anyway, once you pass the first arch and dragorns, just look left. There is her cove.

When she is up, there are tons of little murkgliders in there which do NOT assist her, well as you think of a normal assist. Most raids sit right inside the cove, and fight her there, they get adds, etc etc...here is the misconception most have.

She does not "spawn" adds as it were, it is more them coming to help from her cove it seems to me, and this is affected by the area. Her Balance of the nameless ae(or crackling static) seems to be a memory wipe on herself as well as cancel magic, and also on ALL npcs around, at least her murk help if she gets it. We tried mezzing the adds, but she kept wping it off with cancel magic it seemed, or some ae, didn't hold. You cannot slow, debuff, dot so it is melee, and nukes. for this fight. Here is what we do.

If you know where the wos murk camp is, between the froglok NpC down there, and the murklgider by fallen poles in the gorge, or down off the walkway by Gorvoroth. You COULD fight her on the walkway, but I feel safer bet is in gorge/wos murk camp. Pulling her is tricky, but not really, she casts the balance of nameless and mem wipes herself as you pull, so you cannot aggro and run, doesn't work. Just have your monk throw throw throw throw, walking backwards to group/raid, or whatever. You CAN pull her across zone if you really wanted.

Now, basically walk her into your tanks and have the warrior take over. You could use another class surely,. but warrior is always best for unslowable unstunnable mobs inmo anyway. You cannot slow/dot, so nukes and melee are the way.

You cannot rely on kei lasting, as her ae crackling static ae overwrites it, so this means horses/drogmors. Which in turn means no quick heal interrupt, so you have to make the determination, one tank gets the majority of complete heals(used mainly because in one group, we have one cleric healing, and with no kei, or the risk of it being overwritten means you need to conserve mana, and ch works best for us).

So push is an important thing, you have to surround her with your melee and pets in such a way she remains in one place, to not go oor of heals(because a cleric casting complete heal on a horse cannot simply duck, better to have a little discipline and keep mob in one spot).

Your MT should be closest to cleric, as range isn't near as far on your complete heal as it is with your supernal or holy, or pious light, or tnarg or yoppas mending, what have you.

We have warrior grab aggro on pull, and use taunt, incite line, slam constantly. The cleric pretty much heals him with ch constantly, chain or not depends on the warrior. We have a paladin off to an angle, and I am a monk on another, and we form a triangle to keep her centered. You really could use any melee classes, or ranger bow would be awesome, I just perfer melee, as there is no summon worries, or mob moving due to summoning someone.

Cleric heals warrior with ch, shammy keeps me(monk) targeted for yoppas when needed, and spot heals anyone else. Paladin is pretty buff, can self heal, or use wave trushar/celestial grp heal aa or whatever if needed, heck lay hands. And we use 3 melee, with wiz nuking, and cler sham. Wiz uses small nukes, firebane usually, or such, no large nukes, because at some point(usually near the end) they will be summoned. Just have it timed with incite, ancient chaos cry, bazu bellow, whatever, so as you see a murkglider schoolleader has become angry, the nuke lands right after, so that you minimize the risk of the wiz drawing aggro with nuke.

The reason you do this, again, her balance of nameless ae which mem blurs herself/cancels magic removes the effect of incite, so ifyou use incite line, she casts it, nuke lands, well guess who gets summoned. NUKER does, duh. So best to have it timed very well. Aggro WILL bounce, as taunt fails from time to time, so make sure your melee aren't taunting, or doing things to draw attention, because basically first person to hit her after her ae, gets smacked.

If you're good, it is easy, just takes a little coordination, and timing, and patience most of all. I would say it is almost harder with more people, because you factor in the timing. So unless you have your MT calling incite in 5 4 3 2 1 hot key, nukes won't be timed. And keep your caster close to it, so summons don't ***** up raid. Let paladin use wave marr, or whatever if need be but complete heals should be for the MT.

Monks also are good for dps, and they have the mend ability which helps enormously in this. I regularly down her with 6 people, but we are talking elem or time gear usually.

If you pull her out of her cove and fight, no adds, or whatever you think they are, come at all.

IF on pulling her, help comes, it is because someone tried her earlier, and the adds started coming, and they wiped, and the spawned adds stay up. Usually a melee type, and a nurse(healer). They stay up, like the murkglider pups when you try the fecund murkglider and fail, or kill fecund and zone. The way you deal with this is to simply pull her as normal, and let them outrun her, she will stop to cast her ae, and when she does, they pull further away from her(and her ae mem blurs herself so she stops chasing you), at which point target them and pull. Once they are dead, proceed to pull her and gl.

It is not hard really, just requires discipline and timing of a sort which seems to be a lost art in eq, and some of you flamers have no idea what I mean. For you semi older players.. GET OFF THE WALLS!

YES she enrages, I just let warrior attack through it, and let the ch land, cuz her aggro will bounce. At 10 I let the wiz unload, so when she enrages, she summons wiz, chews through force shield, sham spot heals wiz, warrior taunts off, gets scrolled during enrage, ch lands, no biggie, and wiz after nuke of course gets the force shield back up, and boom nukes again, and enrage off usually for t3h win! Pallies can Wave of trushar, hand of devotion, or whatever ae heal, it isn't difficult.

I do not like using rogues, as they have no mend, and their dps usually gets them in trouble, pulling off warrior easily with the mem blur going on.. better to let warrior maintain aggro, and have other melee using 2h weapons, and once again being disciplined.

She does NOT drop the belt, and 2 casts of radiant cure 3 removes her crackling static dot, or blood of nadox works also I think. Not sure with pure spirit, usually just rc3 twice, and poof gone. If mana regen is an issue for your cleric, just have someone cure her and clairvoyance her again midfight(why I like shaman), no biggie.

The ae, well I know what Lucy says, and I am sure the crackling static replaces kei line, and is dot, and the balance of nameless is a cancel magic ae. Crackling static is NOT an ae, maybe a proc of sort, but again our MT rarely sees it, could just be mad resists.

Peace

You jump down into the pit next to the doorway that leads to Walls of Slaughter. Follow the pit around the first corner to the right. Up high on the left hand wall is a groove cut into the cliff. The Murkglider School Leader is back in there.

Just a note about the Cancel Magic AE. Its not an AE at all. It only dispells itself. I guess that's transparent but I thought it was an AE dispell, but its not. So buff up.
If you are doing in a group. Just make sure your lowest resist is 300 or higher. If it is the AE will only hit you once or twice. I suggest taking a bard if you have bad equipment. One cleric can keep the MA healed via CHs, but the rest of the group needs spots as he memblurs himself the first person to hit him will get aggro so everyone gets hit sometimes.. So I suggest: a Cleric, a spot healer, a bard, a tank, and DPS
If you are 1 grouping this guy, its a long fight, approx 10min or so
And he IS single pullable the mobs around him do NOT aggro
RE: more infos

The mobs around him DO aggro actually...bard pulled him and we had 3 adds...also apparently one of the adds called "murkglider nurse" or somthing like that was healing the other adds AND dispelling our mezzes on them...
RE: more infos

It is an AE dispell on herself and every other mob around her. First attempt on her we had one add, which was promptly mezzed, dispelled and then proceeded to eat the enchanter.

1-grouped her last night. she wasn't too bad, we pulled her out of her cove pretty easily. no use in trying to debuff/slow her, she wipes all buffs and mem blurs herself after 5-10 seconds. Doesn't hit too hard. did it with a pally, shaman, cleric, ranger and monk (yes 5 people), all in time/god gear. I have around 7500 mana buffed and ended the fight at 30% Be warned however, about 5 minutes after she dies, a bunch of tiny murkgliders will appear and start hitting you.

Oh and she dropped 2 greater runes and a no drop necklace (had like 90hp, 10 to some stats and regen2)
