This mob has no cool down, it can be triggered of any sun rev in the zone, but the monk at the step that needs the mob, HAS to be the one that kills the rev or the "Disciple of Sun" will not get triggered/spawn
Have been clearing all of the sun mobs in the ruins for over 8 hours now, no spawn :(
Ok I take that comment back. I was missing a part of the epic. Once I completed it I was able to clear the same mobs, not all of them either, and the disciple spawned.
Killed with 75 Monk + Cleric merc. Real easy fight. Hits pretty slow, barely hit me, and when he did it usually in the low 100s. Had to kill the sun mobs inside the ruined building at the top of the plateau to get him to spawn. Killed about 5 of them inside and after the 5th one died I saw an emote from Disciple of Sun. He spawned right in front of the steps in the ruins. Has a decent amount of hitpoints...but that's about it. 70 Monk could probably kill if needed to.
I've spent a total of probably 8 hours at this spot killing the sun rev's and still haven't seen this guy spawn. Didn't realize he was so rare. Wondering if I'm doing something wrong...?
Just Trio'd (boxed) >> Disciple of Sun << with a Barely 66 Monk 8734 / 1517 AC/ 1638 ATK wearing Full GM Cultural gear (Masters Aug'd) ... 67 Cleric Bazaar geared with 5600 mana pool also 66 Chanter Bazaar geared 5800 mana pool.
Monk said the Lines and Disciple of Sun attacked me ... Chanty hit him with Howl of Tash followed by Dreary Deeds. Chanter slow never landed for more than ~ mostly~ . Chanter * Torment of Scion & Madness of Ikkibi * which hit full nearly everytime.
Cleric tossed me a HoT prior to final line to spur atack and Just Chealed after that once Hp's dropped to 50%. Hammer pet sent in as well which stayed up the entire fight. When Disciple finally died Cleric was at 40% mana. During the fight the AE hit my Cleric but not my Chanter or Monk .. so some of the Healing mana used was on Cleric x2 for Pious Elixir.
Disciple of Sun is not Perma-rooted in the Ruins ... but more Tethered toward the center. As the fight progressed and usuall mobs started to spawn I slowly backed up with monk from aggro range of mobs and Disciple followed a short way's. Which Enabled me to stay in the Center of the Ruins with Boxes Back to the open front wall ... keeping them far enough from aggro range with the others which spawn out front.
Once Slowed it was not bad at all. But would really be Over-kill to drag a full group there. Well onward Ho!!! I think this leaves me with 3 fights left. And OMG 6 Trials in PoJ ... yes being a Casual player I never did the progression chain. Never worried about it as I am an Old World hunter .. craft all my own gear etc etc .. See ya in PoJ !

If you have Dragon Fang or the level 74 Discipline you can solo both the Sun and Moon Disciple by just running them in circles and using your disciplines every 30 seconds, its a little slow but I solo-ed them both this way taking about 13 - 15 minutes each.
Fighting him right now. Noble's Causeway mobs are harder. CLeric and monk. He has about 120k hp. He was about 137 dps on me. I have lightning maxed, 1 into inate defense. I was selfbuffed/cv. Max hit of 833. He hits very slow. With slow he would barely hit at all. He spawns in the building. Have fun, its an easy fight.
I had taken down this mob about 2 weeks ago and forgot to post. He is located on the top of the hill in the center of the zone as you zone in. If he is not spawned you must kill all the little ***** that r outside the ruines. Also you must kill the ones on the inside. This mob was taken down by myself and a ranger. He is slowable, snareable ect. You can solo if you have healing potions as the mob has no regin. You could even kite the mob. He does AE but with high fire resistes ull be fine trust me... Piece of cake..
Duoed with Monk (~9k HP unbuffed) and Cleric. Used CH for healing and was FM before the next CH during the 10 min duration of the fight. Procs were mostly resisted by Monk. Cleric took a few ae's during the fight as I moved him around but the damage was nothing to worry about (100-300'ish).
Disciple of Sun: HP: ~115k Max hit: 840 Min hit: 5 Avg hit: 405 Atk dly: 21 Dps: 120
Did him today with myself, a beasty, paladin and cleric in Vex Thal - EP gear. Was pretty easy, just has a fair chunk of HP, though I imagine with more DPS-instensive classes he'd be much easier. Cleric was close to OOM near the end, but she was using small heals rather than chealing.
Can be killed by a single monk and a single healer. FD when low health, heal up. Don't heal while fighting. Mob doesn't regen much at all. Maybe 1% while FD.
had druid, monk, pal, shm, war, rog port to TS, run to SD castle and buff up... kill all the sun revenants all over the plateau and you will get a yellow message... "who dares disturb the meditations of the sun". go in the castle and hail the cat and say his trigger... AEs are easy to resist, hits like a wimp, what i had was overkill and a couple of my friends were laughing about it actually. just something to note, he doesnt summon hehe.
This guy doubles for about 850 max, and has two AEs. http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=2992&source=Live and http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=1955&source=Live Both are easily half resisted or completely with a FR of about 175. Lots of hp, regens quite a bit. Only really need one healer, a decent tank, and some DPS. 1 group encounter.
