Hmm, maybe someone would want to be an Erudite pally because...they wanted to play an Erudite Pally? Not everyone plays EQ for PHAT LEWT and to be exactly like everyone else. Who cares who's strongest, it's the ones that are unique that are remembered.

WHy would anyone want to be a Erudite Pally anyway, when i check its this /who all Hum pal 163 players on everquest, /who all Hal pal 69 players n everquest, /who all Eru pal 3 players on everquest, they suck, they cant attack worth crap, not much Wisdom, and thisshield only makes em as strong as a lvl 3 anything else

Posted: Mar 07 2001 at 9:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well, if you ask me, the reason that this shield is in the game is the same reason as the Highelf/Halfelf only new sword (You can only be under tunare faction to get it, no matter what, there is no way around this) is very simple. Dwarves have the best stats for a paladin hands down. More wisdom and more str, now, second in line are humans, then half elves, then high elves, then erudites. Notice you dont see a half elf, human, or dwarf ONLY paladin weapon/armor? because erudites and high elves have the worse stats, they put items like these in the game to give erudites and high elves a reason to be paladins, they are just balancing the game.

I play an Erudite Paladin. I tell you what, with the 155 str she has, the 100 agi, 90 dex, and 137 sta... I am willing to bet at lvl 27 she is capable of handleing most situations on her own. Now, if I can get those stats on a LVL 27 ERUDITE PALADIN, whats so wrong with them? Oh yhewa, she puts out some good damage, she yaulps out her 10 str for a 165, and doubles up for an 85 attack. That is close to what a wizard hits for at the same level. So lets not go there. If you ever tried playing an Erudite Paladin you would know your skills go sky high VERY fast because of the high intelligence. So don't try to tell me they suck, because I can tell you very much so the opposite. Only difference, I know what I am talking about.
They may have some crappy starting stats, but what about humans? they have horrible starting stats and look how many you see! Once you hit around lvl 15 it gets really easy to buff those so important str and wis stats. Of course, if your gonna say they suck, then why don't you just go try to duel one who has played an erudite pally the right way...

If youd ever met a eurdite paladin they are the nicecist you will ever meet for they are the most unique. I personally like being the first erudite paladin a person has ever known. besides high elves arent that much better at being a paladin YET you are sittin there haten' on erudites because they have this nice shield. HAVE YOU EVER HERD OF TTHE NATURES DEFENDER. Its betterthan the epic! and has 45 ac on it! tis a two hander too!. it almost has enough str, sta on it to make up for our shield! So consider the circumstances before you hate like you do biach!

Posted: Oct 26 2000 at 9:21 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ok, i'm a human, so you dont use the moron, argument, of, "well you must be one!" erudite pallies look hella pimp especially with this shield. it is made of bones. secondly, erudite pallies have high starting wisdom than humans or half elves(eww halvies). i dont know what the starting wis for dwarves is, but erudite pallies might have higher. secondly, one of the coolest paladin's on my server(povar) is an erudite paladin that has a full set of valorium and has for quite a while.

Hehe dont complain bout the maestro droppin only the mask, we killed him saturday and guess what he had? vampire dust only whoooo and 5 gold haha. By the way he is much harder alone then inny is alone cause of his AE lifetap, he has so much hp with that lifetap its insane, inny can be harder if your stupid and dont clear all the stuff around the area as he will call it all and poof your all dead when 20 wanderers close in on ya hehe, inny hits harder but his spells are a joke basicly, this guy's lifetap kills everyone around him slowly and heals himself, trust me this guy is VERY tough, inny can kill more cause of the DTs but in general he is a bit easier, but still very hard himself

Little tip:
Less Tanks fighing him at once means less people for him to Lifetap meaning he doesn't heal himself as much :)
I've seen him be killed with 8 tanks on him at any time with only one death in the whole fight :)
He ain't that rough, and neither is Inny for that matter :)

LOL Maestro womped on us..45 players attacking him and maybe 6 lived. Problem was he lived as well heh. Round two he wasnt so lucky mwhahahahah. Anywho, he did drop the mask and I was little bummed but it's ok, Monk was happy )

Maestro is indeed tougher than Inny. First off, it's a lot harder to isolate Maestro from other mobs nearby. Second, his AE lifetap spell makes it like fighting a mob with 3 times the hitpoints. He's a damned ******* that beat the crap out of our group of 38 people 5 times in a row. Only once did we get close to killing him. Shortly thereafter we dropped Innoruuk like the skinny dork he is. Fear the Maestro, for he sings your death dirge.

About 2 weeks ago, the Maestro of Rancor was harder than Innoruuk in my opinion. He hit fast, he hit hard, he hit often, he had an AE lifetap spell, and he moved very fast and ping-ponged between targets making it hard for our tanks to surround him and get to work on him. Maestro and Innoruuk have been buffed up a bit, and I'd now say that Inno is harder due to the fact that he now hits for up to 425 per hit.

ouch...never been on a raid (want to...uhh..ohh the pains of a lvl 34 mage)...but 425!!!..my god..that would waste me in 2 hits...hehehehe..i guess that is why tanks are so wonderful

hell, im a lvl 48 monk and that kills me in about 5 or 6 hits (fully buffed) so if im like 70% HP's any way the sucka can waste me in 1 round (its happened =(
