we killed him on the Tribunal a bit ago.. not an easy fight had about 42 there.. we are not the "uber guild" but the posts here helped a bit.. near the end of the fight our raid force was toast except for 3 necros and what was left of the mellee.. the 3 necros life burned the weakened meastro down and killed him but the 3 banshees avenged him and killed all who was left... the worst part about it was everyone died and nobody had any Hate stones on them so his loot rotted while scurring to get more and we never got to even see what dropped.. so a word of advice bring spare stones, from now on i ALWAYS will.
Erm, I'm sure this is what you meant, but just so people realise; please leave the stones in the bank (or on a toon at bind point). You don't need the stones on your corpse. :)
Hopefully you can spare them; leave a rogue and a Rezzer not far from the area (stairs outside, or camped not to far from Maestro)
Very important to keep Maestro on his stage. Facing the piano, keep him to the back, left corner cause there's a cubby hole back there. Keep him there for the entire fight.
The hands do spawn at 75%, but they don't actually cast heals as I had imagined they did. Instead, when they appear, Maestro's already godly regen sky-rockets into the absurd. They seem easy enough to kill when every spare person goes over and concentrates on doing them in.
During the fight, the doors swing open and 3 untargettable Silent Banshee's sweep majestically into the room (it is SO cool looking). They take their stations around the room. One stays in front of the doors, one stands on the wall opposite the 'stage' and one stands with her back to the wall facing the doors across from her.
Now, when Maestro is 40% life they don't do a thing, but *just* before his life goes to 39 they become active and change to, I believe, *Screeching Banchees*. This is when someone needs to keep Maestro tank mezzed while everyone else beats those Banshee's to death. They wiped the raid last night 3 times. The banshee's aren't mezzable but they are rootable. Keeping them away from the stage during the Maestro fight is imperative. Once we did that, we won.
-75%, the hands will spawn, kill them asap because they will heal him -40%, get ready for Banshee's to become active. Everyone who can leave Maestro fight and head toward Banshees. Casters stay on stage and nuke but if you get aggro, run away from the stage so you don't get the healers in range of the mana drain. -39%, Kill Banshees.
Very important to not push Maestro to the doors. That happened once and wiped us from all the adds that ran in and assisted. I charmed one add and by the time everyone else was dead a Banshee charmed me. I was the only person in Hate left standing, but I was a pet. (FD monk nearby found time to get a /snicker in, the beatch. heh) Maestro, the adds, and the 3 banshees stood around me waiting for charm to wear off. Talk about Irony... I've been on the other end of that so many times.
Hope this helps.
Edit: forgot to mention there were 43 people on the raid. Really fun fight.
Took us 3 attempts. What eventually worked was very close to what Platinu said. I think we actually used his guide on the second attempt, and we got Maestro down to 3% before Banshees wiped us.
Beat up on Maestro to 75%, then leave 1 or 2 tanks on Maestro with enough healing power, as the rest of your raid force takes out the 2 hands. Then back on Maestro. (after Malo, my standard fire nukes were hitting most times btw)
The important difference; At 40% (39%) leave a couple of Maestro Kill only 2 banshees. All 3 respawn after you kill the 3rd, so don't do it until Maestro is dead. Just toy with the 3rd, and your charmed comrades for a while. (Wish I could tell you that one of them doesn't charm, and keep that one alive, but, I'm just not sure.) I suggest 3 or 4 tanks and 2 healers to play with the 3rd banshee, but depends on your force.
Kill the piano man. Kill the banshee. Rez up. Loot up. Drink beer.
as we have been killing this guy a lot, i realized where we pull him to. pull him to the door, in the corner, make sure people dont click on door, gets annoying. but since hes over there, the hands will not agro the MA, and the hybrids can go kill the hands easily and then kill maestro =)
Well we figured wed check out PoH since they redid it well we had 30 level 65's Ranchor slayed us kinda lowered my ego since i used to kill him with just 1 group then he wipes whole raid clicky stick cleric logged out rezed us all buffed up etc and took him down second attempt most of the loot rotted since we had better inny wasnt up or we woulda tried him also if your attempting this guy dont think hes easy because thats what we thought http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=710555
once hes at 75%, the hands will spawn, kill them asap because they will heal him. at 50% other annoying mobs will spawn, kill them aswell. at 25% AE mana drain mobs will spawn, they need to be killed asap or clerics will go oom. he doesnt regen too bad, its the hands that make him regen. we had the hybrids kill all the mobs that spawned during the raid. pallys and sk's tanking, rangers bst's and rogues helpin out. when the mobs spawn, keep at least 10 melee people on Maestro. being a cleric, we had a 4 second CH rotation with 4 clerics. did it np, but we did have a lot of spam healers.
NO epic drops remain on the loot tables for the Maestro or Innoruuk. They have all been moved to other mobs/encounters elsewhere in the zone, including the ranger stone.
The warrior epic piece now drops off the Hand of the Maestro, which does not change into a 2nd spawn like it used to.
Additionally, from what I have seen, the Hand can spawn independently of the Maestro. We saw the Hand up, killed it, and 2 or 3 days later it was up again, without the Maestro having spawned inbetween. A little bit of time played in the New Hate will confirm spawn times on the various minibosses.
Killed for the first time on SolRo several days ago. Quads for 1030s quickly and LTs 1500 often. Hands will spawn during the fight which will heal him. Also, banshees will spawn that AE mana drain and hit for 650s. Has very high MR (and DR evidently) - slow (shm/enc) never landed. Does NOT seem to flurry or rampage.
We had about 32 people present when we finally killed him. Drops included some nice legs (better than the ones listed below) and a FT2 cloak with decent stats.
Hey All, I just thought I'd post a little info on the new Maestro that might prove helpful to others trying to kill him.
First of all, he's tougher. Much much tougher. Don't even think about killing him with the same kind of force that he used to be killable with (i.e. 1 60's group). Here's the details.
Our guild went up today exploring the new hate. We got to the Maestro and didn't have a full force on line, so we decided to try him with 30 people. We had heard from Stormhammer that he was much harder now, but we figured with a 65 warrior MA, 64 warrior SA, and 5 cleric CH cycle we'd be ok. We prepped and engaged.
The Maestro now cons red at level 65. He quads for 1030 damage a hit. 65 chanty and 65 shaman could not slow him. Tash landed, and Mala did of course (unresistable), but I (a 61 mage) could not get Malosini to stick. In addition to his melee damage he has a 1500 damage lifetap, that can go off up to 4 times a round. So basically he's capable of putting out 10,120 damage a round. At one point as we were wiping he hit one of our warriors for 4 1500 point lifetaps, plus 2k in melee damage, for a total of 6k damage in one round. Needless to say with only 30 people we wiped, and no, we didn't try to zerg him. It was a well thought out encounter.
We hope to try him again soon with a 10 cleric cycle so a CH will land every second, and that should be sufficient to take him down. Fire nukes landed fine on him, I did not try magic. His regen is crazy fast, of course. At one point I saw him go up in health one percent as 30 people were beating on him. His actual hp's did not seem that high though. With the cleric force to keep the MA alive, I don't think the encounter would have been longer than 2-3 minutes. Did not think to take a screenshot unfortunately, in all the excitement =/
During the fight 3 npc's spawned, con dark blue at level 65, and went to 3 corners of the room. We only had Maestro down to 90 percent when we wiped, so it's unknown as of now what those NPC's are for, or will do later in the fight, or when the fight is finished. They did not interfere with us at all.
Well that's all I can think of for now. Hope this helps out some people thinking of taking him on.
at 75% life two hands spawn on the piano in maestros room. They are the reason for his insane hp regen. Kill them and his health starts going down again. got him to 23% on our second try after we realized this. Each hand has bout 30khp and hits for 500, they summon and root anyone who comes into melee range of them. Had one SK off tank them with a shaman healer and all our casters chain nuked them. At 30% 3 banshees become active, they run around draining mana and charming people.
Sorry, forgot to mention it. The Hand of the Maestro can be pulled separetely from the Maestro. Our MA pulled him with just one add. He no longer is a small hand that, when killed, spawns the larger hand. He's just the Hand of the Maestro. He dropped the piece needed for the warrior epic, and he went down in about 60 seconds I would guess. He dropped some AE's that I resisted, so not sure what they did.
I would say 2 good 60's groups, or 3 good 50's groups (possibly less) could easily get the warrior epic piece now. It seemed easier, not harder, especially since you don't have to spend hours clearing to get there.
#REDACTED,
Posted:Apr 20 2003 at 12:12 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This guy really sucks. My guild and I were about to call an almost perfect Hate raid to a call when this guy spawned. We died getting to him since we were ambushed by 4 of the dark elves on steroids and for some reason we got split up. Well a guildmate necromancer Sebbal had an essence gem charged up from a sacrifice he made and FDed quickly enough and saved the raid by resurrecting the clicky cleric (hug Kierya). So after we got two groups of reinforcements to help out since we had only 17 people left, we engaged Maestro. With the 65 wizard i invited with Vex Thal armor and several ancient nukes he dropped like a fly. We were hoping for a piece for one of the epics but he only dropped two 6-note-blades and a black sapphire! And i thought the time he only dropped two shields of the stalwart seas was bad, that was the worse drop rate I've ever seen of him. Way to go Verant on the risk vs reward system! Reminds me of the time Lady Vox dropped a white dragon scale, 2 ice comet spells, a rune of crippling, and a breath of ro magician research component. Glad I reserved the scale for that. ~smacks the executives of Verant~
That sucks, especially at the miserable drop rate he has sometimes liek when I got on him from the last raid. Hopefully they upgraded his loot table for you guys though.
They are down-grading PoH Bosses loot to mini-Bosses just as they did in Fear. Dunno if that makes it any easier, have killed 20 or so golems in fear to only see a handful of epic pieces for any one class. Hope they get this one right.
Actually he is only indirectly involved in the Warrior Epic. He doesn't drop the piece you need. All you have to do is get up there after someone else clears him and the Hand should be up. The Hand is easy.
Yeah, but that's making the whole procedure to get the epic piece even harder nevertheless. I mean how well can you time that? Why would the group taking out the Maestro not kill the Hand too? Sounds like a lot of begging and moaning work for the average warrior.
If they'd keep the Maestro (indirectly) involved in the warrior epic quest this would just make the gap between work and reward even wider (something thought hardly possible for the warrior epic).
Giving the epic piece to a mini-mob would really be the best solution. Good to hear that it's what they'll do.
It's not hard at all (or wasn't). We found out on one of our raids that the hand actually spawns twice. We killed Maestro and only needed 1 hand, so we killed the first one. Later another showed on tracking and we just left it alone. Why would a raid kill Maestro and leave the hand? Because they want SEoCs. SEoCs are rare in Hate and the Hand drops every time. So by default most people will kill Maestro but leave the hand behind.
Almost every other raid we went on we left the hand. At this point the only drops we were interested in were the Ranger, Chanter and SK epic drops, which are far more rare than the Warrior one.
i have thought of that is we can kill a god then why cant we just become gods out selves lol i mean the gods are not as stong as the sleeper dud for crying out loud if a stuipd dragon or what ever is the thing in sleepers tome can kill 100ppl then why c an a dang god fall to 30 ppl
Anyone ever thought about how utterly rediculous it is that 30 or so people can just waltz into a god's home plane and kick the collective asses of Innoruuk and all of his most powerful servants?
only takes about 10 now. I went up with less than 2 groups and dropped Inny and Maestro with no deaths. =) hehe and a Ranger was the only tank we had for Maestro.
Killed him yesterday. With the recent changes to NPC spells we expected him to be tough. He wasn't. I found him to be no different than the million other times we killed him. Long fight though, thanks to the lifetap.
Upon the Upgrade to the lifetaps from MoBs his lifetap now heals himself, so yes hes harder. I guess hes like VS, if you dont kill him fast you can kiss you *** goodbye ;)
Oh yea....don't use pets or he'll just suck em for more HP.
We killed him yesterday and he actually went down very easy. Of course we had a great turnout of over 30 people. I can't remember how long it took but the only problem was that he got pushed into a corner and we had to back off when he rampaged.
Being the only bard on the raid I made out like a bandit with three imbued platemail drops (gaunts, arms and bracer) AS WELL AS Kelin's Seven Stringed Lute!!! Rare drop off him so I'm told and it was my first time killing him.
Though he was easy, Inny was anything but. He nearly wiped us twice, though I must say we never got a good organized run at him as he agro'd us prematurely both times. Nasty bugger. He accounted for 2 of my three deaths that day.
Zone is fun if you go with an experienced, organized, well-balanced raid, which I did.
At the top there is menton of his treasure hoard. Anyone know if this is still in game and where it can be found? Sounds equivalent to a treasure chest which would normally be nothing to celebrate about in a role playing game but in eq i didnt think such things existed.
