Confirm today that 1 out of 30 'a gnoll pup' drop 4 space 'a small bag, 8 space 'a small box', normal 8 space backpacks, anywhere from 1cp to 3sp+10cp, and occassionally. Allakhazam really needs to update their bestiary. :P
Can anyone attest to the fact that there are more gnoll pups in everfrost that NQey? Doing the headbands with a little human monk, and I havent had the greatest luck finding em. If I remember right, the newbie area in everfrost is teeming with them. I'm going to check it out later :)

I was always overloaded with treasure from the gnolls,i had to carry 3 or 4 backpacks because they always gave me cracked staffs, the gnoll fangs, and rusty swords. Good for selling but way too much stuff, there should be a bank in queynos hill because i get tired of running back and forth
barely anyone kills these things in bb and if they do its only for faction. Is it just me or do these guys have no purpose in BB? Bulases the confused rogue
My friend plays EverQuest and one time I caught him blasting out death metal on his guitar. The funny part was that he was screaming "DIE GNOLL PUPPY!" to his music.
1) They are everywhere, but not as common as rats or bats so you won't be overwhelmed. 2) Great loot! Backpacks, boxes, bags, cloth armor, rusty weapons, and coins. Maybe even the scalps. 3) They ar low level and low health. Level 1 guys cvan kill these easily. 4) Gnolls gather together when attacked. Gnoll pups are Gnoll offspring. More for your experience. 5) They're cool.
You will only find Sclaps on the pups, so if your doin the fur bundle quest, dont bother with them, you need to kill the guards and full grown gnolls to get the fur and teeth!
I agree that you can get a wide variety of good loot off a gnoll pup, but I have never found a piece of gnoll fur on anything but full grown gnolls and gnoll guards. So I don't know why the Gnoll Fur quest would be a related quest
Maybe it is just me but aside from what is listed up top, I have recieved, Rations, Iron Rations, and a bottle of a liquid I do not remember. Maybe my computer is just wierd or maybe there are more treasures there.
How many gnolls do you have to slaughter to raise your faction with the merchants in queynos? a million? I am apprenhensive only because I just got to town and havent spent much time here yet. Anybody know a quick way to raise ones faction with the merchants? Let me know. Im tired of getting ripped off.

These things are very weak. If you're a newbie human that starts in Qeynos, I reccomend you kill these things for your money that you need(for cheap stuff, no jewels, weapons, etc.), and sometimes they'll drop cloth armor for you.
These are good kills for newbies in Halas and Qeynos. They do drop some surprisingly good loot for low levels too. They often drop a substantial amount of coin for a first or second level player, which makes hunting them lucrative. And their faction adjustments allow you to erase any mistakes you may have made in Qeynos, like blasting away any NPC's that you thought were "Just asking for it".
killimg the druids and treants will make you kos later in life to fix this whack on these little guys for a bit fun to look at the corpses and you won't be kos after a while :-)
I have looted various bags and pouches from gnoll pups, and one time looted a magic Staff of Tracing from one in North Qeynos. Someone must have dumped the staff on the pup, as I can't imagine one would spawn with this weapon.
Hehe, the staff of tracing is summoned by magicians. It's also a norent item. Someone was just having fun by giving it to the gnoll. They do have three charges of the spell Flare which is a neat spell to play around with. Target someone that is running, and cast it and watch your flare track them. It has a HUGE range. It's not an entirely useful spell, but it is fun to play around with. I think they should put more spells in the game like that. Like making cantrips that don't do very much or cost much, but have a neat spell effect.
These are wonderful baddies for newbies, I always got a kick out of clearing them out of North Qeynos. I also looted a 8 space chest on one once, so has a friend of mine. Not bad for level one loot.
My ranger used to kill these to show off the double bow damage for a mob standing still. The lowbies loved getting the free bags/chests they dropped too.
