So I followed the advice that others posted and after Cyno 2.0 popped I killed 3 of the 4 healers and then took out Cyno.
Very long fight...probably took me 25 minutes or so. He did drop 2 shards so I was a happy camper.
Anyway, my question is what happens if you kill all 4 healers before you try and take down Cyno? Do they all respawn or what? Why do you only take out 3?
Took Shaman, Ranger, and Boxed Cle/Shd/Nec to kill. Killed Cyno, 4 healers and Real Cyno popped. Then we killed the first three of the four healers. Began our battle against Real Cyno. Didn't time it, but was at least 40mins. Used up all the boxed charaters mana at 40percent(not sure on shaman/ranger), cast jester in hopes for fom on a charater. Of all people, the Shd gets fom from jester.
Long battle, Nec was able to use Blood Magic twice during battle. Everyone even cle was beating on him.
Dropped Handwraps of Captured Magic, Shawl of void and two shard of dark matter.
Our guild took down Cynosure in Qvic with 26 people of Time/Qvic lvl gear. There was two sleeves along with the BIC quest item and the alternate access to Qvic piece.
We were going off of a partial strategy that I got from asking bards on other servers and we now have a more tuned strat for future kills:
1. Multiple bards have resist songs on. 2. MT engages Cynosure 1.0 and we take him down as a raid team. 3. Cynosure 2.0 spawns along with his 4 healers. 4. Entire raid concentrates on taking down three of the four healers one at a time starting with North east, then South East, then North west ignoreing the other healer mobs and cynosure. 5. (replacement healers will spawn that only mimic cynosure and dont heal but cast the same aoe and dmg spells he does) 6. MT with heal rotation and entire raid engage Cynosure 2.0.
During this last battle the 3 replacement/respawn healers will be casting on ppl but no doing any melee dmg since they are perma rooted. But the raid needs to stay alert to zone trash repops that love to jump in the pit with us and take out ppl. Only one of his four healers will be doing healing and will heal about 10-20% of Cynosures health for every 20% that we do so that makes for a longish fight. Healer mobs are unstunnable and un silenceable. Unknown if they can be mana tapped to zero to prevent their healing. All five mobs are perma rooted so no need to preposition tanks at the four corners.
Does this mob help you get into Inku'Ta? Was checking Magelo (when clicked my progress says something about Inku'Ta), but I am not sure if I have killed him or not. Also, was wondering if you have to hail anyone afterward to get a flag, because then I would know that I have not attended this event. I know I've done something in Qvic, but I don't remember.
Anybody know the spawntime on Cyno? We got a bunch of peeps at this stage of the Qvic Alt Access, and, being one of them, I know they would all love to finish!
Was just wondering if Cynosure is a triggered event or if you just happen to be lucky enough to catch him up before other guilds kill him? Been needing the BiC piece off him for quite some time with no luck of finding him up or any info regarding how to spawn him if he is triggered.

They were nothing but an elemental guild when GoD came out and they sure as hell weren't the first, second, third or anything to accomplish that. They were way behind Stars, Divine Crusade and Talisman as far as progression or accomplishing anything. Their ******** of a guild leader, Seryne, named the guild after this mob.
So amusing to see the arrogance that was always the trademark of Cynosure coming out in this thread. Cyno never were the 'be all and end all' of guilds on Tunare, they were the wanna-be-all guild. Thanks to the people who looked up the actual meaning of the word, as at least it enables those who come after to realise the true meaning of it.
Just a little FYI on the guild - I was an officer of Cynosure when the remaining members were gracefully absorbed by Black Tower in April 2005. I'm not sure the NPC was named after our guild, but who knows? Kinda cool nonetheless!

This mob is actually named after a guild that once existed on the Tunare server. Cynosure was the first guild to do anything and everything. They were the top guild period at one time. Though they split up sometime ago, the former guild leader resides on Tunare and is a friend of mine. Just alittle info = )
Thank you for the definition of "cynosure". My post on the origin of the mobs name was not to list the actual definition of the word "cynosure" but rather to give info on "why" the NPC had the name that it did. It was named after the actual guild "Cynosure" that once existed on the Tunare server. That was the point of the post. My apologies if I was not clear on my meaning.
I think he may have mentioned that tidbit in an effort to portrat his opinion that the definition of the word "cynosure" was the reason the NPC was named as such and not because of the former guild "Cynosure". I myself don't know the real scoop but that's what I think he was trying to say.

My guild just recently entered Qvic. We've been farming it nonstop every 6hrs for the nice new armor. Did this mob today with 24peeps. Everyone was level 70. It was close in the end but we did him NP, and that was with one arbiter still up.
Also, its arguably easier than Iqthinxa Karnkvi in the same zone, whom did hit our tank for 4602. The only thing you really need to worry about in the Cynosure event is the AE's.
