Our Strat

We positioned the raid in the hallway south of the room and the pull team cleared hall roamers, and other misc mobs from the room until they were all cleared.

We moved to the doorway and hit the MT with HOT and runes and whatnot and he ran straight to the boss and engaged face on. Melee DPS ran around behind him and engaged. Caster dps engaged from the stair steps to his front. Healers and heal team positioned on the stairs just in front of the entry hall doorway thingie but within heal range for the fight teams.

As soon as the mob split into the two Brothers-in-Arms the raid leader shouted to leave the room. One or two of our melee dps were a little slow on the draw and got squished before they could run out. We all moved down the hall to our original pull spot just south of the room but not too far south to the previous (uncleared) room.

We had one tank pre-designated as hallway guard with orders to immediately engage any hall roamer mobs he saw in our raid area. All healers were told that whoever is nearest to him to cover his heals. He was already on one of the Pixt horse lady mobs when I got out of the room.

The two brother mobs were stompin around and got leashed back to the middle after we cleared out of the room. After things quieted down and we did the couple rez's we moved into the room on the left side near corner. The pull team started working on splitting the brothers and that took a few minutes.

Once we had one brother mob it was a straight up melee fight in the corner until he split into two smaller mobs again. We had predesignated a 2nd MT and melee dps and caster dps just engaged whichever mob was nearest. Both those went down fast.

We divvyed up the loot, rezed somebody who over nuked and pulled the 2nd Brother in Arms for a repeat performance all in that same near left corner.

Turn in Kruxilitek to activate the Guardian of Glorification. I did this turn in as an enchanter and didn't have any trouble stepping back to let tank get aggro so I had the impression there's a slight delay before he attacks. I've heard there are different versions of this mob, this was our experience.

He procs AE knockback. Quad for 2200 on warrior with max def AA's and defensive disc rolling. Max hit 3414 on me (enc, no defensives). He begins perma-rooted. At ~90% the Glorified Bolsterers behind him became active. You need to take them out before continuing. I had read that the Guardian unroots at <90%, but each time we've done this raid he has never unrooted so we use chanters to memblur him to drop aggro.

After we killed Bolsterers and re-engaged the name, his max hit on squishy people was ~2400. Don't ignore the warning post immediately below mine not to push this guy into a wall. He will leash and CH, it sucks :( . Same goes for the splits. For us, when he split the first time he was definitely < 50% HP, he did not split right at 50%. I think it was between 40 and 45%, but I'm not sure.

The splits happened at the raid, so we ran out and leashed them (they pop back to center where Guardian originally stood). Then we moved the raid into the SE corner of the room and our pull team split the two to bring one single. This one hit for ~2100. It again split into two right at the raid, which unfortunately wiped us.

We did this raid with 27 people, most level 70, in a range of gear. GoD is our first progression raiding so I don't have a gear-level to report: everyone's pretty much single-group geared, some top of the line, some low end. Our tanks are mostly over 12k/2k. It took us five hours to get to the point where we finally wiped and called it a night. Most of this, I think, is pull time while we learn to pull the zone. Our pull team consists of a brd, enc, pal (we're monk-less) so that doesn't help. Lots of deaths. A good bit is recovery after name fights.

It did not unroot below 90%, and proceeded to summon the raid as they tried to tether a rooted mob.

The Bolsters spawned before turning in the trigger device.

We've gotten the messages (The sounds of X emanate from the Y set of horns) before we turned in the trigger, but when we tried to kill the bolsterers before the guardian hit ~90% we couldn't (they weren't affected).
DO NOT WALL HIM

If you push this mob into a wall, he will tether. After he splits, it is usually a good idea to push him around on the sides of the room.

54 is max raid size in GoD trial raids, yes my guild is Time enabled but we've only made 1 rotation in Time and we beat this guy. Almost all GoD encounters are unspoiled and I like it that way this is a tricky encounter have fun figuring it out. And what he hits for and how fast he regens depends on how you handle the encounter
what does he hit for?
# May 12 2004 at 2:51 AM Rating: Default
Just wanted to know how hard he hits and what kind of raiding party you need for him. Probably time enabled I'm thinking but I don't want to assume that. Thanks for any info.
