During the 5th anniv, as a total newbie, I had no idea what the skellies were about and subsequently, shook my fist at my monitor as my main at the time, a lowbie monk, died repeatedly to these critters.

Fast forward to now, and I chuckle with glee as my new main -- left monk at lvl 24 as bazaar mule -- stands in the middle of these hordes and lays waste to them.

Ahhhhh revenge. Steel Rod of the Knight is a fun toy, rest of the loot is nice -- very good for mid-level alts and/or guildies.

Anyone think Mayong will spawn on Oct 31? =)

Good hunting to all!

They should have brought back the Fabled mobs while they were at it!

Running through BB I stopped to look at a decaying commander's body (just out of habit), and noticed that he had some chain pants that I hadn't seen before (AC 17 +3 to many stats). Didn't stop long because I had no need for them, but they looked fairly nice for the lowbies in the chain classes (RNG, SHM, RNG, BER only)

Looks like it's time to make a new toon and make a nuisance of myself in BB again.
still pooping

these guys still are around i saw a bunch of them in EC on 10/26/04 at midnight, wanted to kill some, but no guildies were on(what do you expect for a tuesday night), and i could not med up any mana because the skele conscripts (which flooded the zone)kept aggroing even though they were green. got enough mana to finally take on a trooper and the sun came up mid fight and all teh skelies including the 6 conscript addons, turned to dust :(

Yeah, they appear to have been put back into the game at the last patch, probably for a Halloween event. Many of my alts now have some of the nice low/mid-level gear that they drop :).

And in BB as well. I ran into them going from Dragnor's Cauldron to Greater Faydark. I ended up kiting them while my pet (no nuke or anything, all the buffs had expired and taunt was off) kept up in the rear and killed them one by one. I looted a Bone Fragmented Necklace off the Commander then zoned as quick as I could.

It was about 9 AM EST Oct 27 when I found them. Not sure of the game time.

Sure sucks when you zone and find a load of skeletons waiting.

EDIT: they respawned at sunset so they are back for now. If you missed the first time around or got new toons, here's your chance to get some stuff for free. The Commander are light blue to 58 beast and easy to kill.

These mobs stopped appearing (on Quellious at least) in mid-afternoon Saturday April 17th 2004. Fableds also stopped at this time. Grats to those who got things.
How long are these going to drop?

I wonder when the the skellies will no longer come out at nite? Any thoughts or does someone know for sure?

My Arch Convoker is bound in BB at the zoneline to Dagnor's Cauldron, don't ask ... anyway I was on yesterday and tried to solo "The Fabled Estrella Gloomwater" in Kegde. After 2 pets and 3/4 of my health I gave up (durn adds) and gated to bind.

I Went afk without a pet up and came back to find myself deader than a doornail. Scrolled up to see that this guy is what killed me. I had Virtue or Pot9 on at the time so I am assuiming this guy hits fairly hard as I had regained most of my health before he pathed in on me. I wasn't afk for more than a few minutes so he must have dropped me quick. Anyway just a note for those of us that go afk suddenly/frequently.

I've also seen the ring and necklace posted by DoctorZorbak.
The Commanders con both light and dark blue to a level 52. The light blue cons seem to be mainly melee mobs, though some cast lifetap/harm touch. The high blues have a good chance of being necros with their usual ******* of poison and disease DoTs and spells of the clinging darkness line. I have not seen any commanders with pets however.
