Fleeing fish
# May 06 2005 at 8:29 PM Rating: Decent
I hunt the back river alot with both my Ranger and my Druid, makes great AA exp when main camps taken. Ranger just pulls crusties to beach behind undead and fear kites, but Druid charms a pet and cleans out all the mobs from Undead camp to ocean. To stop fish from swimming into shore you need to snare em before they turn to run at 20%. If you root they will continue fighting til dead. If you don't have either snare or root, don't bother pulling, waste of time and hps.

Unacceptably poor pathing in the water in Natimbi makes almost every water-mob swim into the shore and vanish.
Mob is still targeted but I get the "out of range" message.
I once managed to kill a fish using only archery but for some reason the mob didn't move, just sat there and took the hits until dead.
Same with the tide feasters.
Totally unacceptable pathing which requires fixing.
I have /bug'd this but no response yet.

I have recently started soloing these and have been having difficulty finishing the kill as they swim away after down to 20%. It seems like they swim into the bank and then my warder no longer can attack. I have been trying to dot right before the hit 20% and then DD. However, swimming and casting often results in "spell interrupted" and I can cast in time enough before the fish vanishes. Any one have any other ideas? Much appreciated.

For your information, these fish are classed as animals, so rangers & druids can play with them easily.
I recommend, enduring breath (for you) followed by rooting & dotting the fishy, with animal fear memed just incase.
Jump out of the water if it gets too scary lol.

I hate to do this, but...These fishies, as well as the tide feasters, have the same loot table as the rest of the mobs here. They drop spell research items, gems (saphhire, diamond, blue diamond) and today I got the shell inlaid collar.

Im not sure these guys are lvl 20, they conned blue to me and im lvl 53. If these guys are lvl 20, there are incredibly strong, they hit me for like 200+. So if you feel like going for a swim, beware of these guys, they are no ordinary fish.

They con light blue and green to a 65 druid. These mobs hit for 200+ and stun. Use invis to swim the river in natimbi or u may wind up as fish food.
