After killing a lot of these, one dropped "Severed Hynid Head." Not sure what it's for, but since it's not on the loot list thought someone might be interested.
Dropped a very nice neck that the beast in group won, but had aura of courage, +5 to str, sta, agil, dex, some hp, mana, endur, and ac, and wearable by all melee classes. Jaw fell to the floor, but oh well, will hopefully see another one soon.
A Beastlord friend of mine were killing stuff across the crick from the wayfarers when I got it in my head to try to charm one of these Hynids. He tanked a moment while i glamoured him and charmed. It held for several seconds so he pulled. Just as he did charm broke. I luckily got him recharmed but that only lasted like 3 seconds. His pet took care of the spirit lady there and he pulled agro off me just in time. OK. No more hynid pets.
Then I was soloing with the turtles and the stonemites and things were going swimmingly. I then tried to glamour, snare and kite one of these hynid puppies the way I was doing with the turtle.
Glamour agroed it, and two snares failed to hold. I was 50% health now having taken 3 or so hits? and tried to run and egress. Even with SoE I couldn't get far enough to egress and he ripped me a new one. Lost level but luckily I got it back after my rez.
They're pretty tough little hounds. I think I will steer clear of them for the time being.

I was fear-kiting these in Natimbi at 57. They were blue to me, hit for up to 230-ish, and considered animals. Seemed to resist Panic Animal a lot, and when it stuck half the time it would only keep for a second or less.
Possible to fear-kite as a ranger, but I wouldn't recommend it.
These are dire charmable and they put out really nice damage especially if you buff them with savage spirit. They don't have a great deal of hit points so straight on fighting would be a hassle. Aggro kiting however is very easy with them because most of the creatures in this zone have few hitpoints.
