After winning the trial, this guy stays up for all of about 5 minutes before he despawns. Much shorter timeframe than the NPCs for the other two trials. Hurry up and get your hails in before he despawns.

I found a strat on http://company.bertoxx.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14043

Basically, there are three rooms. Place someone in each room. When you activate the event, kill the mob that spawns in the same room. In all three rooms, approx. 5 NPCs spawn and rush toward the "virgins" in the center of the room. Agro all mobs. In each room (I did it one at a time and went slowly), kill the mobs which triggers a named. After repeating all three rooms, hail Alekson Garn for the flag.

Alekson Garn Trial Strat Guide

Summary: This is one of the three trials needed in order to enter the Temple of Marr where Mithaniel Marr resides. Alekson Garn's trial is the easiest of the three trials. Once the trial is triggered, you'll need to protect some innocent virgins from the mean guys that spawn all around them. If you protect the virgins and beat the bad guys, you win. (See the map below for the basic layout.) If Alekson Garn is alive in the zone, his trial can be activated. If he's not there, then the trial cannot be activated. With a few tricks, a group of 18 should be able to do this trial, but it's designed for a raid of 40 to 60 players.

Getting There: Believe it or not, this is probably the hardest part about doing all three trials in a single evening with time to spare. If you can move your raid quickly and (nearly) flawlessly from trial to trial, you win! If not, you'll waste an hour or more just moving people around.

Make sure your entire raid has downloaded and installed the cartography maps for this zone. Without maps, people will get lost and will scatter corpses all over the zone. Make sure your entire raid has stocked up on cloudy potions prior to the raid. These potions are instant-cast and will save lives and save tons of time as you move through the zone. Even classes that can invis should have several of these in inventory, hotkeyed and ready to activate.

Have your raid invis up and follow their cartography maps to meet inside Alekson Garn's room. It's all left-hand-turns from the zone-in. The best meeting spot is right in the middle on the black center tile. Nothing will aggro you here. If someone spots a see-invis mob on the way to the meeting location, you'll need to make sure the entire raid knows where that mob is and how to avoid it. You may want to dispatch a single group to go find and kill the see-invis mob to make movement easier after you're done with the trial.

Duration of Raid: Once this trial is activated it takes about twenty minutes to complete. It's getting there and the prep work that will add to your total time. Plan to spend 45 minutes on this trial alone from the time your raid enters the zone and is ready to move.

Melee: This isn't the typical boss mob fight with a single hard-hitting mob tanked by a single tank. You'll need to plan to deal with up to eight mobs who will all spawn on your raid at the same time. It's best to set up off-tanks and pair them with healers before you trigger the cycle. You'll also need a method of quickly healing people who take damage or you will suffer heavy casualties until you've got the first group of mobs under control.

Spells: None of the mobs during this trial cast any spells of note.

Triggered Events and Scripts: Here's the order of events.

Green light: Raid is buffed and ready and located in the center of Alekson Garn's room. The second and third rooms of the Alekson Garn basement have a small kite team in them consisting of two druids or bards. This is essential. Without kiters in the second and third rooms, the virgins will be kidnapped and defiled by the bad men and you will lose.

Trigger: Main tank walks up to Alekson Garn, hails him, and says, "Ready" Immediately, A Custodian of Marr spawns and begins wailing on the main tank. The CoM quads for about 900 max and is mostly slowable (mitigates Shaman slows to "mostly"). When he reaches zero percent, the trial starts, so be sure you are ready. Have someone call his health in the raid channel so that everyone is ready for the trial to begin. At about 20% you should back all knights and warriors off of the Custodian of Marr and have them stand ready for the adds that are about to spawn.

Crazy Dudes: Once the trigger is down, approximately 15 to 21 crazy dudes spawn -- that's five to seven of them in each room. The main raid force will kill all of them in the main room while the kiters in the other two rooms keep the crazy dudes in their rooms busy and away from the virgin wenches. In the main room, you'll have your MT call assist on each of the crazy dudes one by one until only ONE is left. Once you're down to the last one, simply off-tank him for a bit and make sure you've got everyone rezzed and ready. When the final mob in each room dies, he spawns a very mean named.

Advocent Joran: Advocent Joran is the name of the mob that spawns in the same room as Alekson Garn once your raid has dispatched all of the trash mobs in this room. He spawns immediately after the last mob dies, and he is quite mean. You'll probably lose one or two people before your main tank can locate and aggro him. He flurries and quads for a max of 1115 (do the calculation, that's a max of about 9k damage in a single unlucky round!) and is slightly slowable. You'll want a proper, fast cleric rotation on the MT once he's established aggro.

Room Two: Once Advocent Joran is dead (he drops no loot) you'll move the entire raid force to the second room. Have chanters and other casters begin to peel mobs off one by one via mez and root. Once you've got a few of the mobs that were being kited locked down with mez and root, call your kiters in and kill the mobs one by one. When you are down to the last mob in this room, Halgoz Rellinic will spawn. Like Advocent Joran, he's mean. You'll want to make sure your raid is ready for him before you order the final trash mob killed.

Halgoz Rellinic: Halgoz Rellinic rampages instead of flurries and hits for about the same as Advocent Joran. His rampage is difficult to set properly because he spawns out of ether as soon as you kill the last mob in the room. The best way to deal with this is to make sure that all of your tanks are prepared to drop an arrow into him the moment he appears -- they want to get near the top of his rampage list as quickly as possible. Once Halgoz Rellinic is down, take a moment to rez and rebuff and to deal with any loot that he has dropped. When you're ready, move the raid force into the third and final room.

Room Three and Freegan Haun: Move the entire raid force to the third room. Have chanters and other casters begin to peel mobs off one by one via mez and root. Once you've got a few of the mobs that were being kited locked down with mez and root, call your kiters in and kill the mobs one by one. When you are down to the last mob in this room, Freegan Haun will spawn. Like the two named before him, he'll kill you fast if you're not ready for him. Make sure your raid is ready for him before you order the final trash mob killed. He also rampages and hits about as hard as Halgoz Rellinic. Deal with him in the same way.

Flag Time!: Now that you've cleared all three rooms of trash mobs and of named, you can finish your flagging. Instruct your raid force to run back to Alekson Garn's room and hail him. If the hail is successful it will not result in any yellow flag text. Alekson Garn will simply respond with about two lines of text that say, "An ethereal mist descends from the air and surrounds your very being. Your body begins to emanate with the power of Alekson Garn." Now you just need to complete the trials of Rhaliq Trell and Trydan Faye in order to enter the Temple of Marr (HoHb).

Buff Strategy: Ideally, you'll conserve cleric and druid MGB and pop them both when you kill the Custodian of Marr -- this is probably the most delicate time in the raid and the healing from these two spells can make a large difference. At all other times you'll want the standard compliment of buffs. Resists are unimportant for this trial. DPS is also relatively unimportant -- go for HP buffs on everyone because the difficulty here is dealing with many mobs all at once. Everyone needs a couple extra seconds of survival so that you can get these mobs locked down.

Healing Strategy: As mentioned above, it helps to pair knights with dedicated healers to improve their chances of survival.

Risk Management: The most common reason for failing this trial is when your kiters fail (die) and allow the bad men in the second and third rooms to assualt the innocent virgins. Once that happens, the trial is over and all mobs poof. Then you've just got to move on, because they won't respawn for approximately two hours. It's rare that you'll actually wipe out to the spawn of mobs in the first room -- they're dangerous, and you will suffer casualties, but it's doubtful that they'll actually wipe you if you are careful not to trigger Advocent Joran when you are in the middle of rezzing and buffing. Kiting is really the key to this fight -- though you can also split your raid force into three groups and divide them evenly amongst the three rooms.

Flagging: Here's where this flagging falls into context of the PoP storyline.
Complete one of the six trials in the Plane of Justice
Kill Aerin`Dar and hail the Planar Projection that spawns when Aerin`Dar dies
Zone into Halls of Honor through the tunnel under Aerin`Dar's lair
Complete Alekson Garn's trial and hail him

When the madmen spawn after killing the guardian, aggro all of them and drag them to room 3; counting from Alekson's room. Kill them all there and when the named in room 3 spawns aggro it and run to room 2. Aggro the named in room 2 then run to room 1, Alekson's room, and aggro the named that spawns there. You have a certain amount of time, ~ 5 minutes, to aggro all 3 or you will fail. Kill them at your leisure then hail Alekson to get the flag. Three named spawn even though only 2 virgins spawn.

Did this with an 85 SK which makes it easier since SK get instant cast dots which helps to get aggro especially when you're constantly being summoned.

Over the last few months I've experienced the same bugs on this trial as others have posted here and across the internet. I was able to complete the event just a few minutes ago, so either it was fixed, or a fluke, or the strategy I used this time worked to avoid the bugs. In any case, I'm posting my experiences in case it can help anyone else.

I did the event with me (85 ranger), my box (85 cleric), and cleric merc. Long, long ago I was present on this event when it was a raid, and I remember how the mobs in each room would be kited as the raid would kill one mob at a time. Since the reports on the bug often mention that the person killed all the mobs very fast, I decided to try to reproduce the old raid method in case that would help.

I stayed by Alekson Garn, had no one in the second room, and my cleric with merc in center of the third room. I hailed Alekson Garn, /say ready, and began the event by killing the mob Alekson Garn turns into. The madmen npcs spawned in all 3 rooms, along with 1 girl in the second room and 1 girl in the third. The npcs in room 1 (Alekson Garn's room) charged me, and the madmen in room 3 charged the cleric, but all the npcs (including the girl) in room 2 stood still. I killed a couple of the madmen in his room and then dragged them to room 2, in case they'd kill the girl. Once there they agroed me, and I turned and I killed the madmen I dragged from room 1. Moments later the named from room 1 spawned, so I ran back and dragged him to room 2 too, and killed him. I then killed the madmen of room 2 and another named spawned. I killed him too. Then I ran to the room with the cleric and killed those mobs to spawn the final named. I killed him, then all the girls despawned and Alekson Garn respawned. I ran the cleric over to him and hailed:

You say, 'Hail, Alekson Garn'
An ethereal mist descends from the air and surrounds your very being. Your body begins to emanate with the power of Alekson Garn.

All these mobs are headshottable though I was careful not to kill them all Too fast in case that caused problems, and was sure to kill them in the order of madmen, named, madmen, named, madmen, named.

Just wondering.. There have been a few post made in regards to this apperant bug in this trial. I am wondering, is this a bug, or is there a legit write-up on how to do this the right way. Apperantly slaughtering the mobs and the named are not enough. I am literally pwning these guys, and within a min of named spawns POOF..all mobs vanish..mission failed. Wuts up? Does anyone know? Thank you if you can answer my question. =)

This mobmust be bugged. Here;s our run down and tell me if im missing anything or if it in fact IS bugged.

Had a group in room 2 and a group in room 3. Hailed Alekson. Tiggered event. Klled a guardian of marr and spawned mobs. Cleared crazed and named in room 2 and 3. Had no further spawns. Had no respawn of Alekson for any sort of a hail. Had no respawn of any crazed norrathians nor named. About 1-2 minutes later got the end of the event message.

nothing on track.
Trial timed?
# Feb 12 2008 at 2:00 PM Rating: Decent
Is this trial timed? Tried it twice today, and both times we failed but neither of the two villagers were killed. The mobs just despawned, and the emote said they were taken away.

We had two people holding down the mobs in the room furthest from Alek, and the rest killing the mobs in the room just off of Alek's. Without warning all the mobs just vanished, and the trial was over. Is there a villager that spawns in Alek's room that we may have missed?

Detail about hailing NPC
# Mar 17 2004 at 5:07 PM Rating: Decent
One detail regarding any of these "hail the NPC to get your flag" type events. Make sure you see the message listed in the previous post (An ethereal mist....). It's easy to miss in the spam of hails after the raid.

You CANNOT be on horse/drogmor nor invisible when hailing, or it will not work. I repeat, be dismounted and visible when hailing! Good luck!

Personal notes,

The mobs move at close to Jboots speed and are very hard to snare.
Its better to have only one active kitters and a few inactive Monks, SK's with SoE on to take over should they go down. This was one of the hardest thing we learned, that to many kitters ruin the broth.
To seperate a mob at a time use a Pally with Stun or Ench to pull one of at a time.

Once you have killed all the bad guys you can then hail Alekson Garn and you will get text stating "An ethereal mist descends from the air and surrounds your very being. Your body begins to emanate with the power of Alekson Garn." complete the other two trials to enter the Temple of Marr (HoHb).

Virgin/Princess trial -

Great writeup here

We did it a bit different (full 72 raid force..pickup raids ya'know). Divided groups into the 3 spawn rooms. Each room killed off all mobs except for one...had a kiter keep it occupied. Balance of raid force then killed off named one at a time (moving room to room), as the named pops when last crazed mob dead in each room.
RE: Trial Strategy
# Apr 03 2004 at 8:34 PM Rating: Decent
this can be done with as little as 18 in raid (we have done it a few times)---needs good kiting, druids probably best with soe, tho wiz can do too if soe is fresh---post kiters in each room , kill boss in first room, kite, kill respawn boss in first room, move to second room, kill , move to last room, kill---back to room one, hail (NOT on mount, NOT invis)...gratz you are 1/3 of way thru the HoH trials
btw MOST mobs on way dont see invis, but there is usually ONE who does just before you get to the building housing the event...so, con before you proceed thru it---also, about half of the mobs which need to be kited can be snared, prob not worth doing
